Character Notes

Well if Robert needs to labor diligently for a few years until Louis hits 30 then that is a burden he will willingly bear :)

If you take the idea that he would be technically on half pay and still holding a commission, then an assistant to one of the naval attaches would make sense.  If you figure we survived the crash and worked our way across a good deal of Mars, our experience would make both of us valuable to the authorities or semi-authorities.  I like that he'd be involved in the government.  It would give him access to information as well that might be of use to us down the road.

Remember also that there is a war going, and the natives are definitely restless. Do you have the Space 1889 rule book?

Ah, okay. You have all of the information, then. I wasn't sure if you had the book. The effort to post here isn't wasted, since I may decide to change the canon material to suit myself. For now, though, it's all the same.

Re: Character Notes

I actually have everything GDW put out.  I bought a pack deal a while ago.  I can't say I've read much of it...

I got rid of a bunch of stuff - gave it all to Eddie, in fact. Got tired of moving it all from one place to the next. Terry Mixon has a huge collection, too.

I actually have it electronically.  I never bought the stuff when it was in print.

Re: Character Notes

I figured I had 3 more rounds in the revolver having fired three at the German.

Sorry, didn't mean to jump in on Robert's thought processes, there.

I'm channeling my own tactical handgun training - always reload when you get the chance. They beat that into our heads, believe me :-)

Re: Character Notes

Thanks, I understand now!

My training was more around reloading the 5"/54 guns :)

I'm relearning that, as a GM, ya gotta just describe what's going on, not get into the PCs' heads so much. I'll get better at it as we go...

Excellent!

I learned something new today - I'd never heard of a Winchester lever action shotgun until I read it in the Space 1889 book today.

I will be out of town on business until midday Wednesday. I will try to keep up, and I have my notes with me, but no promises :-)
