Great set-up.  Let me get my head around things and start posting!

I'm still figuring things out, myself. It's coming together in my head, though. ;-)

One item I forgot to cover is what Robert and Louis are doing for a living.

After three months as a housewife, Louis' desire for adventure drove her to take a position as an assistant at a private investigation firm called Zane and Elder.

The job sounds like a good idea.  I guess Robert hasn't gotten her pregnant yet :)

Not sure what Robert would be doing.  He probably has his half pay but that would not be a lot.

No, not yet. Louis has mentioned that her mother and grandmother didn't have children until they were nearly thirty. Louis is 28 now.

I'd say he would be able to find employment within Her Majesty's government, probably dealing with their naval forces in some way. He's important enough to rate the telephone, so he's probably an assistant to one of the local Admiralty officials, most likely a captain or a commodore.
