Rex's Reach

You place a strip of cloth between the latch and the frame of the door. And manage to close it quietly. The guard wakes himself up with a loud snore.
He walks over to your cell.

"Aren't you an unlucky one. To have an local knight notice your Deino. Your going to get convicted and there is nothing you can do about it."

He lets out a cruel laugh and then goes back to his seat.

"So, this is about my friend, not this baron's daughter." Rex replied matter of factly. "And you are okay with this? How many of your friends are here in this building right now? Surely one of them has a sense of honor. What will you do if he overhears such blatant corruption? You straight up attacked me under false pretenses!"

His voice raised a bit, but he kept it below normal talking tones. Keep things quiet for now.

He thought about popping the cage open and letting Mr. Bitey voice his opinion this talk of masters, but he needed this guard to talk about his strengths, to get overconfident in his position of power. They were face-to-face right now, and that might work for him. This close usually meant intimacy, a 'just between you and me' type of talk.

Four of them, counting this jester. Rex noted. Not with the knights, though? That's strange. Are they sell-swords, deputized for this role?

"So what, you are acting on behalf of some other guy? Who's the knight that noticed my friend?" There were so many questions Rex had right now. As long as he could keep this fool talking, he might get out of this quietly.

"Aren't you a fanboy." Rex snarked at him, smirking the whole time. "So, what, my friend is going to help this Gaetino clown kill the king and usurp the throne? You guys are amazingly stupid. Getting caught by you guys is a disgrace to me."

"I bet you don't even have a name for your dumbassed movement." Rex might be able to leverage this. This guy was a bit fanatical about this Gaetino guy, and might keep feeding him info.

Rex's Reach

OOC: I do.

Rex fired out Mr. Bitey on short notice, slid the gate open with the same hand, and preceded to mug his unsuspecting foe.

"Bitey, BITE him!"

"Deino!"

This poor guard was in trouble on two fronts. Mr. Bitey went for the hindquarters, and Rex went for his face as a decoy to also bag his keys.

OOC II: 21:15, Today: Rex rolled 35 using 2d6+27.  This one is for Bite, the previous a crit Thief.
21:14, Today: Rex rolled 46 using 4d6+26.
21:12, Today: Rex rolled 12 using 1d20.  Bite from Mr. Bitey. AC4.
21:11, Today: Rex rolled 20 using 1d20.  Thief to get keys off guard while punching him. AC2.
He might be unconscious, but I'm hoping I snagged his keys at least.
And apparently, I forgot to add STAB to Mr. Bitey, which would have raised his damage by an average of four.

You rush the guard with Mr. Bitey. He rips a rather large chunk out of his hindquarters. You punch him and break his nose while stealing the keys off of him.  He collapses to the floor unconscious and bleeding

You hear people coming. You also notice that there is one other guy in a cell.

Rex's Reach

Either this is a person just as wronged as myself, or I'm releasing a serial killer. Either way... Rex immediately grabbed his belongings, and ran over to the other cell door to unlock it.

"Mr. Bitey," he pointed to the door leading out. "If anyone comes through that door, make them wish they had not."

"Deino?"

"Yes, attack them if they come through the door!" Rex went through the keys as quickly as possible. He was really guessing what Mr. Bitey was saying, he wasn't really sure what the little powerhouse was asking. He popped Not-Food out of his gem. "Not-Food, anyone gets past him, you make them wish they had just ran away."

He flopped to a position some distance away from the door, in range of his Bounce. Mr. Bitey protested. "Deino!"

"What?" Rex hoped this set would work, he probably didn't have much time. "Just accept his help, okay? We are in this together."

Well, Rex switched to the next key. Of all the trainers, I get that one.

"Not-Food! Bounce! Mr. Bitey, Rage!"

The Magikarp flopped a bit closer to the insect, and leapt off the ground, valiantly hoping to nail the large and hopefully cramped creature in the face, with its own face.

OOC: 21:15, Today: Rex rolled 35 using 2d10+17.  Damage roll in the event of a hit.
21:14, Today: Rex rolled 10 using 1d20.  Incoming Bounce.
21:19, Today: Rex rolled 6 using 1d20.  Dragon Rage.

You hear a click from the cell door.

Mr. Bitey then launches a beam of purple fire at Lowfat and looks like it hurts it quite a bit.
Lowfat then spreads purple powder around Mr. Bitey, to no effect.
Then Not-Food Launches himself majestically though the air and Smashes face with it's own face! Lowfat falls to the ground unconscious. The other guard looks at you and runs.

The other guy opens the cell.
"Thanks for letting me out. They put me in there for a bogus reason and wouldn't let me talk to anyone."

"No problem. I'm guessing you have a friend this Gaetano bozo wanted to help 'rule the world.'" Rex put on a deep mocking voice for those last three words. He shot a thumb behind him. "He's going to get reinforcements. That means either we have one more guard coming at us, or he's getting more friends. Get whatever is in this cell of yours, and get out fast."

He turned to the others while looking down the hall. "Not-Food, Bitey, good work. Fetch everything shiny they have, and let's get out of here, pronto!"

"Something like that."

Not-food grabs a gold coin with his mouth and starts flopping towards the door while Mr. Bitey slurps up all the soup they where eating and then grabs a iron pot and heads out the door.

There are a few silver spoons lying around and a small pile of silver.

He pulled his backpack off quickly, and scooped all of the silver up with practiced ease. "Evidence of wrongdoing." He stated this matter-of-factly to the man getting out of the cell. "A wizard can scan it and find out who is funding them."

He didn't know if wizards could do that or not. If this guy didn't know, though, the lie was foolproof. He snatched up the gold coin, and the iron pot while running past his guys and tossed that in the backpack as well before slinging it back unto his back.

Before he reached a corner, he hugged a wall, and peeked very carefully around the corner. So far, he had managed to get the drop on all his enemies, and that had made all of this relatively painless for him and his gang. Now, though, he had to go carefully.

Straightforward. He began sneaking down the hallway, keeping an eye open for trouble. He recalled both of his friends into the gems, and continued down the hall, and hopefully out the door. He paused under each shadow to insure no one was coming.

Besides, if this guy behind him was inept, the guards would target him first, leaving Rex a surprise shot on them. If the guy following WAS one of the guards in some kind of insane sting operation, having his guys recalled would stop them from being in a bad position, giving Rex the upper hand.

Formal and stuff, huh? Rex mused as he snuck over to the desk. He wanted a brief record, documentation, something, anything with his name on it, or this Gaetano's name on it. He was borderline illiterate, but he knew his own name written down, and he could likely take a guess at Gaetano's. Someone might value this.

Worse came to worse, he was never here at all, and they wouldn't send legal reinforcements after him. At the least it would confuse the law enforcement, which was usually a plus.

Rex stole them all. Not that he could read, but he could find someone who could, and ask them what these were all about.

"Okay, gang. Let's get out of here!" Rex was going for the door. "Seeya around, stranger. You are on your own from here."

Next plan...damn it. He really didn't have one, other than maybe getting his guys to a church for a quick check up and a rest. And maybe some advice from a party that would be neutral...had he robbed them in the past? He wasn't in the habit of hitting churches unless he was really hard up, but it was a small world.

You walk out of the jail and the other guy runs. You seem to be in a fairly large city.
You find the church easily enough. It's fairly decently sized building. It's fairly average as far as appearances go.

Well, no time like the present. "Come on, boys. Not-Food, you good, or do you want a carry into there?"

Not-Food just glared, and flopped towards the church door, refusing to be helped along. "Deino." Mr. Bitey almost seemed to shrug. Rex let Not-Food get a head start, and then went inside the church, ultimately followed by his two friends.

He peeked his head inside. "Hello?"
