Rex's Reach

A few days after you caught Not Food you set up camp and set Mr. Bitey on first watch. Unfortunately he decided that he was tired and reentered his Soul Gem. When you woke up you found that the local law enforcement has bound your arms behind your back and removed your trainer bracer and Soul Gems. When you demanded to know why you where being arrested they said that you are accused of taking the virtue of the local Baron's daughter. Then they had their Butterfree hit you repeatedly with sleep powder

When you wake up you find yourself in a jail cell with all your things on a table about 3 yards away outside the cell. They search you fairly well but they didn't get everything you carry on yourself.

Rex's Reach

Rex simply had a look around. He knew no immediate action taken would get him out of this cell. He also made sure not to pat at anything they had not taken. So many people had a really dumb instinct to grab at things they were worried about, making it easier for those things to be taken by an observant thief like himself.

He didn't even know the Baron's daughter...did he? He had never been with anyone like that as far as he knew. So someone who looks like him, had a wild night with her, or someone singled him out, or maybe...

Focus. One thing at a time. Get my crew back. Just under 3 meters for that. He looked around for a guard, seeing if anyone was watching him.

They must not know you very well. Because there is only one guard for you and your things. It's rather late at night so the guard is struggling to stay awake.

Rex's Reach

Rex had not yet gotten up, and decided to take a risk: he began humming a lullaby, the kind he would use on Mr. Bitey after he had a full meal. His hope was that the guard would just nod off, and not ask where that soothing music was coming from.

OOC: Guile check 12.

After a few minutes of the lullaby the guard start to snore loudly.
No one else seems to be coming at the moment.

OOC: Guard rolled a 9 so he doesn't notice himself falling asleep.

Still humming that lulluby, Rex quickly and quietly stood up, removed the lighter from his pocket, tied one of his many strands of Weedle silk to it, and with one fluid motion threw it at the table with the intent of retrieving Mr. Bitey's soul gem like a grapple, fishing like a Weedle would. If the guard showed no signs of waking up, he was going to try to get Not-Food as well.

OOC: If I cannot use my thief move on this, I'll add a stealth check shortly.

You get both Mr. Bitey's and Not Food's soul gem with ease. The guard is still snoring.

Rex's Reach

He slipped both of them into his pockets; no need to call them out yet. He needed to continue humming the lullaby, and without orders Mr. Bitey would probably start eating the guard's chair, and Not-Food? He'd just pursue whatever goal occurred to him, without concern for others. Probably related to finding a river.

He needed to get out of this cell. So, he started testing the lock on his cell door. If it was designed for drunkards and fools, he was in luck. General use; he might be able to crack that. Hardened criminals? He wasn't breaking that; he'd need to find a way to pinch the guard's keys, and he was hoping he didn't need to do that.

OOC: Stealth check 11.

The Lock was tougher than the average criminal around here could crack but it falls under your adept lockpicking. The door swings open with a rusty groan from it's hinges. the guard is starting to wake up.

Rex's Reach

Rex, thinking fast, tears a small strip off his shirt and stuffs it into the latch of cell door, quietly shutting it once more, and holding it shut. He stops the lullaby, because it no longer serves a purpose.

He wasn't sure if he needed to keep the cell door shut, or if it would stay open, but he wasn't taking any chances. So, he held the door shut for now, and waited to see if the guard would wake up or not.
