Jade's Journey

You where walking though a forest when you came to it's edge into a field with a village situated on the boarder. the first thing you notice it that the village is covered in webs. The next thing you notice is that there is a villager running up to you. He falls to the ground and begs you.

"Our Village is being overrun by Rattata and Spinarak! Please Save us Kind Pokeman Trainer!"

Jade's Journey

Jade momentarily stands stunned as she processes what was going on. Normally, she had to ease-drop or read a message board to get any kind of combative quest or the like. Just as she is about to respond Cobalt Pops his head over hers and proudly proclaims "OF COURSE WE WILL CITIZEN THE Iron" Jade cuts him off as he is about to say iron chef by putting her hand over his mouth and gives him a cross look. He responds with a smile and she finally answers herself. "Of couse we will help. When did this all start? I mean did something attact them or rally them into doing this?"

The villager looks momentarily surprised that Cobalt but dismisses it as being unimportant compared to MY Village is under ATTACK.

"I don't know! They started attacking 15 minutes ago. they are fighting eachother and our pokemon are too weak to stop them!"

You see a battle between two Spinarak and three Rattata starting up near the edge of the village

Jade's Journey

Jade gives a disappointed sigh, it looked like they were going to have to jump in blind. She didn't know much about Rattata or Spinarak but this whole thing seemed a little strange, there had to be a reason they were fighting. "No matter, Cobalt you hit the Spinarak, I'll start on the Rattata and we'll meet in the middle." Cobalt leaps to the ground and nods cracking his knuckles. "Yeah! I've been itching for a fight, been way too long since our last."

Cobalt uses Swords dance and proceeds to lead the charge, and Jade is just behind him readying her sword.

When they arrive in the fray Cobalt uses Zen Headbutt on the closest Spinarak and Jade uses her shield hand to Force palm the closest Rattata.

The Rattata suddenly start moving with superrat-like speed. One appears to your right side and strikes your right arm leaving a nasty bruise...Or that's what would have happened if your didn't feel the opponents movements and then dodge out of the way. The Other one appears behind Cobalt. Who only has time to turn and block it with his right arm but doesn't do it quite right and causes him to hurt he arm in the process.

Cobalt grabs the Rattata out of the air and then bites it head. Lacerating it's face with his teeth and knocking it out.

The Other Rattata runs away to the fields.

However as he is about to charge off to the fight Jade smacks a hand on his shoulder making him shudder. "OOWww, What did you do that for?!" Jade looks for the most injured of the Spinerack to start with, believing that it would be most cooperative with a few questions before leaving. She turns to Growlithe, "Would you mind helping us a little bit longer? If so Cobalt and I will gladly help you look for your trainer." She then proceeds to attend to the first Spinerack.

22:33, Today: Jade rolled 12 using 3d6.  Medic Check Spin 1.

As Jade treats the first of the injured pokemon, Cobalt tugs on the pant leg of one of the villagers, looking up at them long enough to ask, "Hey, umm... do you happen to know were Growlithe's trainer is? He seems to be worried about them." Before waiting for an answer, he turns his head so he can see both the Spinarack and the villager. He is aware that the newly conscious Spinarack might just attack out of panic.

She waits until it has finished getting over its groggy awakening and comes to its senses. "I wasn't able to heal your injuries, so I suggest you take it easy, but before you go would you mind answering a few questions for me? I could make a treat for you, your choice of flavor. However, if your not interested, no one is stopping you from going home."

The Growlithe barks excitedly and starts sniffing the ground. He quickly picks out his masters scent from the multitudes of other scents. And then he leads you into the forest. As he leads you though the forest the Spinnerarchs watch you from the tree.

The trail eventually leads you to cliff with a tree jutting out from it. Looking over the cliff It doesn't seem to have a bottom. But there are many large trees with jutting limbs growing out of the bottomless abyss and the Trees are so tall that you can't see the tops of them.

The scent seems to lead on to the jutting tree. and there is a limb near the tree that looks like it's sturty enough to support all of you.

The Three of us pass a look of mild concern around and walk into the labyrinth. We are initially lead by Cobolt who in his excitement forgot that we are looking for someone, until he remembered he was not a tracker and relinquished the lead to Growlithe.

"Remember guys keep your eyes peeled we're in a Poke'mon Lord's domain now."

"Ha! You worry to much Jade everything will be fine."

"Fine. Okay, look just humor the worry-wart, one more time." She rolled her eyes a little at Cobalt's disregard for danger.

Cobalt made a little smirk like the conversation was just a game of some sort, but ultimately did what was asked of him. All the while Growlithe kept on the trail of his master.

OOC:Cobalt and Jade are keeping an eye out for trouble until Growlithe finds his master or the three of us find trouble.

Jade's Journey

Beyond the trees you are moving between, the forest floor disappears into blackness. Ahead, a realm composed of trees without end, linked together in an impossible meshwork of one into the other, with spider webbing between them all. There is no visible sky, but there is just enough light needed to see, coming from a sun or a moon which does not exist here.

The sounds of creatures in the tree leaves is apparent as they react in fear from Jade's entry. Growlithe growls, and leads Jade deeper into the alien realm. The feeling of many, many eyes watching is palpable.

Jade's Journey

Jade lowers her voice not to a whisper but certainly well below her usual volume. "Hey Cobalt, do you think this place would be less concerned if I were a Poke'mon? Or do you feel our reception is more because we are outsiders?" While speaking Jade tries to keep her eyes on her footing rather than the impossibly long drop if she should have a misstep.

"Cobalt wait, no." As the words escaped her mouth, something occurred to Jade, well a few somethings, actually. #1 The odds of the Poke'mon lord not already knowing they were here, were very low. #2. Poke'mon in general are probably not going to challenge her for the title she does not have. #3 And perhaps most importantly if the locals know that they are just here for John they may be able to avoid further conflict.

With a sigh "Did you have to include the Iron Chef part?" and looked around in the trees in hopes of seeing a response of some kind in the Spinnarak.

There is, not too far ahead, the sounds of muffled shouting, and some of the thin webbing in the air is vibrating from the direction of the sound. Skittering is heard in the trees to the left and right as it seems to withdraw at the sound.

Jade turns away from the sound and gives a deep gracious bow to the Spinnarak, "Thank You." She turns to Cobalt, "Good work, lets get John home." And proceeds as best she can to the source of the sound.

Jade's Journey

It is an easy trail to follow, and soon enough, Jade and Cobalt find a young man bound, gagged and struggling in the middle of a spider's web, hanging over the void that is this place's floor.

"Growl! Growl!" His Pokemon is reacting, and Cobalt draws the conclusion that surely this must be who they are looking for.

There is nothing else here, save the sounds of occasional skittering and the vibration of a loose web in the air.

Cobalt smiles at finding the one they are looking for. He kneels down next to the web and then test the strength and tension of the web with his paw. Finding it strong enough to support himself. He walks out to the young man like a tight rope walker and then get's to work untying the young man.

Growleth starts to rush to his master but stops at the edge noting the long drop to nothing. He whines and examines the web. But before he can test it, Cobalt is going out to his master like a tight rope walker.

He whines even more. But he is unwilling to risk danger to his master by going out on the rope.

Jade kneels down next to Growleth placing her hand on his back. "Don't worry, Cobalt will get him out of that before you know it. And we'll all head home." She can't shake the feeling that something may be off about this whole thing, and watches the ceiling as it were for signs of an ambush.

Jade's Journey

Cobalt successfully walks out on the webbing...right up until he gets next to the cocooned man, at which point the ground sticks him into place, tripping him up and entangling him in the web. The young man did seem to be getting more animated in his thrashings, and a pair of Spinaraks drops down on Growlithe and spits toxic fangs at him, knocking the poor creature out with a pair of nasty hits.

Now feeling rather confident and safe, a large Spinarak of similar but clearly more aggressive markings and body make-up, four full feet in diameter, spins down from the misty ceiling opposite from Jade.

"Well, well, little human..." It speaks in a hissing, sibilant voice, it's mandibles moving in a strange way, bending unnaturally to allow its speech. "Aimed to finish off Aryurz the Great and Powerful Ariados of the Held Storm, did you? Did the vermin send you? Talk, assassin, and I will spare your servants and merely settle for eating you!"

A small circle of Spinaraks now make their presence known, completely surrounding everyone, chittering.

OOC: Growlithe is out of commission, but thankfully no longer poisoned due to being fainted. Mons have a resilient biology: a light coma cures all aliments! And replaces them with a worse one, which is being mildly comatose.
Interestingly, Cobalt is as strong as Aryurz, but he's at a disadvantage trying to make a contested roll to escape the web, especially when he's looking down and not seeing a lot except more darkness and mist. Not that he can't get back to non-sticky webbing, it will just be a challenge.

Jade's Journey

Jade removes her sword from her belt, scabbard and all and lays it next to Growlith, and then takes a large step back to show she could not quickly reach it. “As someone who fights in Victini’s name, I am rather aggravated by your assertion of being an Assassin. And furthermore I do not feel this is a conflict that needed to come to blows in the first place. The three of us are just here to retrieve John. You might ask your soldiers who fought in the town, we fought both groups equally and I did my best to mend both after the battle so they could all walk home. My primary concern is the safety of the villagers, and if possible a peaceful resolution to this conflict.” She takes in a calming breath, as her she could feel the adrenaline rushing through her. After all it wasn't often she ever said this much. “I would rather not do you or your followers any harm. That would surely end all possibility to end this, possibly at all, let alone peacefully.
