Aishi's Assault

You are Serving in the vanguard of a conquering army. The Emperor of the United Kingdoms Tarien is regarded as weak because of his Democratic reforms.

Your mission is to scout the United Kingdoms of Tarien. You are near the edge of the Kingdoms, scouting the Mountains and the Metal refineries there.

Aishi's Assault

What, the title isn't Aishi's Ambition?

It was nice and cold out, and Aishi had made sure to bring a nice winter kimono along with her cartload of personal possessions. While she had no particular disdain for democracy, if the Empire was internally weakening, that meant a prize chance for her and her people to invade.

As she reached the mountains, Aishi called Spheal to keep watch, then pulled out her dowsing rod and began to hum along. She wouldn't spend too much time on this, but she was always going to take a little opportunity for profit in a new rocky area.

I messed up my first roll. It should have been 5d6, not 7d6 so I'm trimming off the last two dice. If you want me to reroll, just say the word.

23:00, Today: Aishi rolled 9 using 3d6 with rolls of 4,1,4.  Exploding dice, take 2 - need to record.

22:59, Today: Aishi rolled 24 using 5d6 with rolls of 6,5,6,1,6.  Dowsing.

Assuming my dowsing isn't interrupted, I find five random Shards for crafting.

Aishi's Assault

Not far from where you discover the shards, and start to tally up their value and worth, a Pawniard makes its presence known to you rather (and dangerously) close to you and your Spheal.

It has a symbol tattooed on its right shoulder that is well known within the Empire, and one that has recently become a symbol of terror or safety, depending on how you feel about draconian law: a silvered skull on a black shield, the mark of the Shadow-King of Steel. On its left shoulder is a white IX, an archaic symbol meaning "nine" and its squad number when it rejoins the main force.

It gives you a swift salute, but makes no noise.

Aishi turned sideways to the Pawniard. Squad IX, huh? She packed away the shards, planning to examine them for color later, and saluted the Pawniard back.

Draconian law was exactly what Aishi wanted for the world. It was the only way to bring peace and justice to the weak - that was why she'd joined with the people who'd conquered her town in the first place. Though the recent emphasis on Dark and Steel in their forces and their ideology was worrisome.

Aishi's Assault

The Pawniard points a claw out to the metal refinery. "Pawniard." It points to its eyes, and back to the refinery.

It then points to Aishi's eyes, and then to the refinery again. "Pawniard."

It has become known by those who march with the Shadow-King that while he favors Dragons as elite members of his vanguard, he tends to favor Pawniard packs headed by Bisharps to recon, seize and hold territory. A single Pawniard always means more.
