The sun had just come up. Everyone, in their homes, was waking up. They wondered what these five young men and women, with their Mons, were going to bring to the world today.

Well, some of them did. More than a few rolled up a leaf from a plant that grew in this area and used the coals from the fire to light one up, mostly because they didn't want to hear about what the Zotorior had taken from them today.

The Legion didn't even give reveille - they were down to ten these days, with each carrying three Mons each (unusually overstocked for the Legion and for their rank), and half were eyeballing the other half. They just got up and begin their own morning routine, starting with the walls and the guards. No one had died or been attacked last night, so that was a good sign.

Mayor Harridan was sleeping in. Everything was good for him today, so he felt no need to rock the boat. Let the new people deal with it...whatever "it" was today.

The food was still good, the water was still clean, the steel walls were still manned, the armory was stocked, and there was plenty of work to do. Rice fields (a normally imported crop) needed tending, the fisheries needed fishers, hunters were always appreciated (both for catching Mons and finding food), the usual scavenging work was available for anyone willing to go below the town or into the surrounding marshlands, and for anyone willing to do it, the Legion had offered spoils of war to anyone willing to raid the fearsome Zotorior. There was something for everyone to do...and a lot of the locals just weren't doing it, frustrating the Legion (and Inoue's followers) to no end.

Roman's crew, however, was forming a plan...

Poe, meanwhile, woke up on the highest section of the walls, with no idea how he had gotten up there.

OOC: Everyone else, you are free to announce how you wish to wake up. Remember, if I didn't describe it and it serves a purpose to a town for its survival (physical or morale), it has a good chance of being in this town.

"COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!"

Steve: Is There a reason your screaming like a chicken.

"Technically its a rooster, and it's the morning with which we woke, basking in that beautiful, burning OH MY GOD! IT'S THE SUN! WHY! MY EYES! I'M MELTING! MELLLLTIIING!"

Steve: Your fine.

"Oh Good, note to self I am indeed not a vampire. By the way where are we? Last thing I remember we were in a cave, there was some dead things and a wall that became a fox."

Steve: You mean I Dio, and I'm not sure, maybe we should ask around, and get something to eat.

Larry: I want pancakes!

Karl: MEAT!

"Right meat pancakes it is, let us sally forth!"

          As they strode into town Jade and friends were feeling pretty good they'd negotiated peace between a town and two rival pokemon nobles. The five of them walked in a pretty tight group Jade was at the front with Icebox (the church Rotom) following directly behind with Cobalt (Riolu) to one side and Zircon (Shinx) to the other matching each-other step for step in a small rivalry of dominance, and finally Jasper (Charmander) happily taking the rear guard.

          Jade turns to the group "Okay everyone lets find a nice place for us to set up shop. Jasper would you mind paring up with Icebox again?" Of course no sooner had she spoken that a familiar sound broke the morning calm.   She paused a moment as she realized where Cobalt would go first. "Small world... Cobalt you're with me and Zircon can you handle looking by yourself?" after getting acknowledgment from the group they split up in different directions to find a good place to set up her makeshift kitchen (and camp if no sleeping quarters were available.)

Jasper gives a somewhat lazy salute and says "Char."
While Zircon nods and starts looking around and paying attention to your Surroundings.

Cobalt smiles and says.
"Of course Iron Chef. What's the plan?"
The little Riolu seems eager to be in the middle of the action.

William Poe, do you have any pokemon out?

  Roman walks into town while his crew rides into town. His chimchar being the rascal that he is laughs at Roman for walking. "You know walking is good for the soul and the body right?" he quips to the little guy. "You might wanna try it sometime."

  His other pokemon were in their pokeballs at the moment, but that wouldn't last long. His crew passed by and gave him heck as they went.

"Would you keep it DOWN already?!" The Legionnaire guard flung a stone at Poe, trying to drive him off the walls.

Jade was quickly waved in by two bleary eyed guards, while their third was flinging rocks at Poe. "Every. Single. Fucking! MORNING! Celestine damn him, I'll be begging for the Skulltakers' mercy at this rate!"

"Give it a rest, Lou. Poe's just Poe." This relaxed guard tipped a hat. "Hope you found what you were looking for, Chef."

Lou was clearly a man on edge from having been up all night. "He's an IDIOT! My only consolation is that if I'm lucky, I'll get to hear him squawk one more time when the savages chop his head off! Right before they kill the rest of this worthless town!"

Roman and his crew was coming through, and Jorge tapped Roman on the shoulder. "Hey boss. We should find the biggest member of that gang dressed in the red and white coats, and kick his ass. What do you think?"

The others nodded their heads at Jorge's words. They had just come here because they knew someone here could actually cook, but taking over a town...that had merit, too.

Jade gives Cobalt a quick scowl for the "Iron Chef" thing. Then her expression changes to an attempted smile, which falls apart with the internal admission that Poe.. can be a little difficult. "Oh, come on Poe's...not...that bad..." Sigh "Okay, so don't ask him to do a night watch and sure he crows in the morning, but if you can get past that he's a good friend. So anyways who are the Skulltakers? Some kind of Outlander tribe?"

One of the guards glances over to Jade, the one who had been speaking to Lou. "Zotorior tribe. They decapitate their foes, clean the skulls, put weird markings on them, and then stack them up in a pile to mark the edges of their territory. Recently, they put a bunch of them on the road - you passed them on the way here unless you roughed it."

Lou, meanwhile, was glaring at Poe, and then turned his attention to Roman. "And what the HELL are you lo-?!"

It was at that moment he realized there was quite a well-armed group here, and they weren't being stopped. "You IDIOTS! Draw blades!"

The guard talking to Jade looked over, annoyed as his companion drew a weapon. "Relax, Lou. I know who this is. We don't need a fight with potential future allies."

Meanwhile, Jorge just looks a Roman, eager for the go-ahead at these divided guards.

  "If Lou is eager to draw and not back down Jorge you may trounce him. However taking over the town isn't in my plan right now." he stresses the right now to Jorge. He sees Jade and nods peacefully. And proceeds to enter the town if Lou doesn't back down he motions to Jorge.

   Siegfried was awoken early in the Morning. Even earlier than William Poe's  Rooster act. He was in the room he rented at the inn from the money he earned working with the Legion.

   He found that his chest was too cold, his legs where too warm and his right arm was wrapped in a bright blue tassel. He could not bring himself to fault his pokemon for their choice in sleeping spots but he did get up and wake the lot up.

He then began his morning ritual of oiling and sharpening Balmung, his Honedge. Tending and cleaning Fafni, His Dratini. And brushing out the fur of Marle, his strange ice aligned Vulpix.

He ate Breakfast with his pokemon then he proceeded to put on all of his armor. It was a slow process since he had no squire to help. But the Alchemical nature of the armor helped a bit.

He finished as the Poe Crows. He returns Fafni and Marle to their Capture Crystals.  Then walks to the other Legionnaires with Balmung in her sheath on his back.

He makes his presence known as he enters the conversation. Radiating the aura of a powerfully built fighter in the Heaviest Armor Available.


He lifts his faceplate and greets the newcomers.
"Greetings Jade and Roman Spicer. It is good to see more people who know how to fight out here. Roman, I trust that you and your men won't cause trouble here. That would be tactically ill advised with the Zororior tribe breathing down our necks."

He turns to the Legionnaire that is throwing rocks at William Poe.
"Please Stop that. It is our job to protect the people here. Even the Fool that crows in the morning."

12:28, Today: Siegfried rolled 14 using 4d6+3.  Intimidating Presence .

Roll for how scary Siegfried is.

Jade politely returns the nod even though the potential implications of his words give her a slight cause for concern. She turns back to the legionnaire "I see, we tend to hike quite a bit to look for ingredients so we must have missed them. I will do what I can to help alleviate the situation, is there any need for a medic in town or would a chef be more in demand?" As Siegfried enters the conversation she greets him as well perhaps with a little less warmth as outside the battlefield she knew next to nothing about him. Siegfried's words though do trigger a very different concern she looks between the Legionaires wondering just how short staffed they really are. "Of course if such is needed I'm not adversed to a fight when needs be."

Poe thinks of the glories of conquering meat pancakes as he makes his way down the wall. I-Dio and Boo Diddley were stored while Facebiter was doing his usual latched to Poe's head. Then the guard chucks a stone at him.

"Ha! You couldn't hit the broadside of a Broadside!"

Steve: That makes no sense.

"Or does it!"

Steve: No... it doesn't.

Karl: LET'S BROADSIDE THE GUARD!

"Ok, now the jokes just getting old."

Poe notices Siegfried, Jade, and Roman.

"Friends! Cohorts! People who wish no harm to me, unless you do, if so, let me know, so that I may flee. I go to devour the pancakes of meat, and devour them I shall with none spared for any of you, HA HA HA Ha ha ha........."

Poe's laugh fades as he makes his way towards whatever food joint is in this town,

The guards just watched Poe rant, yell, and proceed to run along the wall until he found a way down. Lou watched in disbelief. "What is that kid's problem?"

Jorge, meanwhile, noticed Siegfried speaking to a guard and using the words 'our job.' Jorge was pretty good at sizing people up and fronting, and he exorcised both when he noticed the big knight. "Good call, as usual, boss. They probably ain't worth whooping on."

"When you figure it out, maybe then you should ask why your kids look like me." The relaxed guard waved everyone through. "You ain't Outlander, so you are good by me. Welcome to Burgsburg. You are likely to end up in some fighting. Don't make things worse."

Lou looked at Jade irritably. "Maybe find that stupid kid and get him something to eat before he forgets he is hungry and raids the crops again. We do not want another 'streaker' incident."

The other guards laughed, and the relaxed one spoke. "To be fair, that kid was actually more reasonable stoned out of his head..."

Lou's face glowered at his compatriot, as the mellow guard continued, the smile leaving. "But yeah, the streaker incident was bad."

The town was a circular structure, with a barracks in the middle that was a converted town hall, and a bunch of wooden houses surrounding it that had been reinforced with stones and metal at multiple locations so as to make the town bombardment resistant. Indeed, the whole town looked like it had been remade to military demands on short notice.

And Poe was running down a set of stairs to the ground below straight towards the most reliable source of food he knew: Jade.

No one is awake at this time save for the handful of Legion guards, as normal.

Siegfried gives a shrug at Poes Antics and him making a bee line directly for Jade.

He continues talking with the Legion Guards

"I will be going out on patrol again today.  Will anyone be coming with me today or are we concentrating forces in the town?"

The sword in it's ornate sheath on his back speaks.
"Hone!"

He reaches over his shoulder and pats the handle of the sword.

"Don't worry Balmung. We'll get them eventually."

Jade took a deep breath followed by a long sigh. * I don't even want to know. * "Yeah, I guess I should. Come on Cobalt lets find that spot, Poe will probobly follow his nose to us once he smells breakfast. And if not he isn't much trouble to find." We continue our search for a place to set up shop unless one of our party members flags us down. And then start whipping up something that would catch Poe's attention, she swears she knows his favorite morning meal. But we'll find out soon enough.
