Setting discussion.
Okay, just making a note set here for now:
Gods are a thing, Arceus being at the top of the totem. Everyone has a god that likes them, or hates them, and ultimately they are defined to a point by this relationship, whether they choose to accept, defy or ignore it.
Communities are likely fairly tight. With the world being as dangerous as it is, divided communities are generally eaten or destroyed, either by Pokemon, human or worse. Most would be conservative, hesitant to embrace change. Xenophobia of one degree or another would be an unfortunate side effect, although rules of courtesy are unknown and difficult to speculate on.
Terrain would determine much. Opening area, whatever it may be called, is assumed to be deciduous forest in a temperate zone, similar to forests in North America. If this is incorrect, knowledge is needed.
A wide variety of terrain will be essential for a large variety of Pokemon. The existence of "high-tech" Pokemon such as Magnaton is a mystery for now. Tech: some of it is ancient, meaning it is being recovered, and what is not is being built using less efficient methods of alchemy. Mass production is off the table barring communal effort like a war. Due to the limits of civilization, most wars are short affairs, with any conflict lasting longer than a year being nearly impossible: one sides infrastructure would crack first, and to the common man, the only difference being who collects the taxes, so they have no patriotism complicating the issue (potential exceptions might exist).
So, how are the ideas?
