Re: OOC: Character and Party Discussion
Just a crazy time for me. This evening is the first time I've just sat down and relaxed at home in ages. It looks to me as if this isn't really going to get better in the run up to Christmas. Additionally, I can't post at work, and I'm not even getting long buses into town anymore.

Re: OOC: Character and Party Discussion
*Sigh* Swamped at work, as usual it seems. December marks a year since I started this job, we're doing something like 40+% more work than when I first started (with less staff it seems), and it was busy to begin with. More volume actually compounds with more issues that need resolving, more snags for workflow.

Lots of minor tasks and small changes on my end, like starting the part time spot, arranging a new parking space for the car (don't have a driveway, so I have to rent a spot if I don't want to be caught up in alternate side street cleaning twice a week), and holiday stuff. Getting more used to this new normal, and some of those real life things are now settling down, which will hopefully allow more more consistent game time.

I'm lazing about at home for at least the next month on medical leave (still). Maybe longer depending on what my cardiologist says today.

In reply to Gackitch (msg # 368):

Hope things improve. Take it easy during this month, Gackitch,

As for myself, still held up by some seasonal scrambling. My days off work aren't even free like they used to be, lots of preparation stuff going on that I have to help with and must get done before the impending holiday break. Fortunately, things should settle down more after a couple of weeks.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Have a couple of holiday things to handle, but after that I hope to get back into the stride of things.

Re: OOC: Character and Party Discussion
The holidays were fine. It's work that sucks. New year, new insurance dilemmas, working in healthcare means whatever tasks needs be done is magnified by this. Supposedly things will die down by end of January. Not so sure about that.

A new development came about over the holidays. My former employer, who hired me back part time, plans to open a new location and wants me on board. That does nothing for the short term, but someone this year, I will likely switch over to this new place full time. Time for a change, I'm essentially a cog in a relentless mill at my current spot.

Re: OOC: Character and Party Discussion
Still kicking and screaming and going about my days like a mad dog both pursuing and pursued by something. Company's new location opened up and it should, within the next couple of months, start to draw some of their business back to the other end of the avenue/neighborhood. Things should be getting better. Except a snow day this week piled on a long and exhausting day like I haven't seen in months. This place still surprises me after more than a year with them.

My previous employer signed the lease for his new location this month, so by sometime mid-year or maybe summer, I should be switching jobs. The intended new store does require some renovation, so it'll be a few months off.

For the immediate time, I do want to get back it some semblance of a game. The fault is entirely mine, just trying to sort things out in real life. Still have to get taxes done. Sigh.

Re: OOC: Character and Party Discussion
I am here and keen, but with a caveat. I'm in a new job and can't use my work laptop to connect to RPoL.net. So I have to connect on my phone, or when I have a little free time at home.

That means it's unlikely I'll be making very long, detailed posts. If that's still okay, I'll keep going at a normal pace.

It'd be nice to have resolution on exactly what I was able to Survival Check out of what I wrote up on the last few posts. I've been BSing my way through things with Bastian for a while, but I'm out of things to BS. xP

I just had a very busy week pass by! March for Science, a healthcare conference and instruction for young entrepeneurs. I thought it was time for a monthly update.

Re: OOC: Character and Party Discussion
I'm pretty much certain this game is dead. It's a pity, but it was fun while it lasted. I'm definately using this character again if I get the chance.

I'm already friends with Raztec on Facebook, but if you'd like to do the same Kiaven/MShepherd here's my page:  https://www.facebook.com/doomedpaladin  Message me who you are and I'll happily add you.

I'll hang on to this game for dear life, but I acknowledge that it is pretty much dead. It's a dead shame. v_v

I have another couple of games here on rpol, so I'm always around. It's the DM whose busy life will decide on whether we move forward or not. :)

Re: OOC: Character and Party Discussion
Greetings all,

You probably think I have some nerve showing up here after all this time, but this deserves some sort of Final Closing.

I would like to thank everyone for their time and to apologize for being a poor game master who severely lapsed in basic responsibility to the group.

If we ever meet at a convention or something, I probably deserve a good punch on the shoulder. Though in the interest of avoiding a well deserved bruised arm, how about I owe everyone a drink instead?

Actually, I feel down enough about this to believe I should reimburse everyone the cost of the Midgard Campaign book. Not that it's a bad book, but I keep feeling like I squandered everyone's efforts in this game. Let me know if anyone is up on the offer, say any one PDF under $20, through DriveThruRPG or Paizo.

Am serious about this, since I used to participate as a giver on Taig's holiday giveaway on the Paizo forums, but missed it this year and last year for the same reason I flaked on gaming.

Also, a long-explanation-short about my absence if it mattered any. Throughout the end of 2016 and all of 2017, I was helping a friend start a business up while working at my regular job. Now the new business is both my full-time and over-time job. Hate to give up gaming due to work, but the student loans aren't paying themselves.

I'm not sure how long Rpol keeps inactive games on their servers. If there is any text anyone wants to grab, best have at it.

Sorry once again for the terribly tardy and whimpering end to the game. I do appreciate the attention everyone put into this, sorry I couldn't meet it with the effort and quality it deserved.

In reply to GM (msg # 387):

Hah and here I am reacting a year later. Hey GM. I wanted to thank you for introducing me to a wonderful new setting that's genuinely changed the way that I play games. I am still sad that this never ended up happening, but I'm ultimately okay with it, because I ended up learning about an awesome setting.

You shouldn't feel bad about anything. We will game together! Some day! Also thank you for introducing me to RPOL!

In reply to GM (msg # 387):

I came back on here to find the link to Gackitch's character sheet and just happened to look up this thread, oddly just a few days after Raztec. This game was worth it just by meeting Raztec (Dirk) and interacting with the rest of you, but the work you (the GM) did with me making the Barking Spider familiar was just a cherry on top. Its a pity this game didn't go anywhere, but life takes priority over games every time. May your ventures be ever profitable!

True. It's a very interesting campaign setting. I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to explore it more.
