GM, 120 posts Mon 21 Mar 2016 at 15:51 | Re: Table talk5e leaves a lot to player and DM discretion. If we both think something is reasonable, then you can do it.
Reactions are split second events, so I would say that a Reaction could include up to half the character's movement, if it wasn't used up during their regular turn.
I'm assuming the fellows in your group would be sticking pretty close to each other, so when they heard the voice, it would easy for Zog and Greyband to, for example, move back-to-back with someone without using more than half of their movement and Ready and attack action. Then, when they saw what they were looking for (the trigger for their reaction), they could dart out to attack wherever they first saw their target, as long as the target was within 15 feet of them. Which your enemy would be, if he's attacking them or one of their companions.
On the other hand, if they were spread out, and had to use all or most of their movement to come together, then Ready attacks, they wouldn't have movement left to use during the reaction window, so they would only be able to use their attack if their enemy was attacking adjacent to them.
Either way, their attack wouldn't happen until after the enemy's attack was resolved. (Since this enemy is magically invisible, just speaking doesn't reveal his exact location.)
Sensible?

We're getting ready to move to a new house, so I'm taking a sabbatical from rPol until after we're settled into the new place. I'm estimating it will take a month or two. If you're willing to wait it out, I'll return to rPol when the dust has settled.
Happy gaming!

GM, 132 posts Mon 27 Jun 2016 at 16:55 | Re: Table talkOkay! I think I'm getting a handle on the home front. I'm planning to return to rPol after the Fourth of July holiday.
The plan is that we can start up again on Tuesday, July 5, and proceed with the game from there. If you have any OOC concerns or need a refresher on things, I'll be available off and on between now and then to answer questions and figure things out.
Looking forward to gaming with you again! I've missed this :)

GM, 136 posts Thu 28 Jul 2016 at 21:38 | The EndThings just never really settle down, do they?
Now that we have our new home and the kids are going to be attending all-day school, we've decided it's time for me to get a full-time job, as well. It's exciting and scary and all that, but mostly it means I won't be able to participate in rPol games, any more. I'm saying good bye to all my on-line games.
I'm sorry our Warlord game didn't amount to much, in the end. I had high hopes when I started it for you, but then... life, the universe, and everything ...happened.
Hope you find many other fun games to play in. Best of luck to you!
(More good-byes in our other game, too.)
