Tony blinks, "Normally the only static you get upstate is from not having enough land or money. You sit still, it might be some residue from Wanda's powers if she was distressed. Kind of like waves or something."

He opens his door to go to find the buzzer thing on most gates, "Of all the things I end up doing. Feel like one of those witness guys."

Vance was still not sure why he was there, it seem like he was still dreaming having a suit made by Tony Stark. Flying shoulder to shoulder with the Black Widow in the Quinjet.

His gaze traveled between the Captain and Miss Marvel, this was not trouble brewing this was a storm ready to strike. "It is not my business and I don't know what you did Miss but I think that if you got invited here and agreed to come than you made the choice to take a second chance at redemption." hell, he felt that way as well, he was a convicted murderer so whatever she did couldn't be that bad.

The Amazing Avengers #3: "...What So Proudly Hated"

Outside the comfort of the limousine, the heat bears down. Not a good day for wool.

The sole instrument comparable to a buzzer is the series of buttons below the monitor to the side of the gate. It's a horizontal numerical pad, clean but not out of the ordinary. There is no indication of which button could be a buzzer, but any could be as good as any other. Touching any of them and -- "SPAK!" -- suddenly a spark enough to nearly cause pain. That feels a lot more like science than magic.

However, the button is pressed for the monitor to come on. A monochrome image moves across the screen, far too fast and too soon gone to register, then blinks to noise, which stays for a few moments then goes to black. There is no sound from it. The gate stands still.

In the Quinjet, Black Widow switches over the monitor with the circle of static to a view of the huge expanse of green between the mansion and the gate. "What's your situation, Stark? I'm going to need to put the 'jet down soon. We could -- "

The Widow’s head snaps away from looking at the instrument panel to through the window. She says nothing but looks outside, then to the sensors on the dashboard in front of her, then outside again. She hits a button and one of the monitors switches from a view of the dwelling below to something with a line circling clockwise from the center.

* If Iron Man is in contact with the Black Widow, his Affiliation is Team.
* If She-Hulk is not in direct contact with the Widow and only with Iron Man (Happy does not count in this instance), her Affiliation is Buddy.
* All heroes in the Quinjet currently have an Affiliation of Team.

Tony reaches up to his ear, "Keep it on simmer. I'm still going with the calm approach but the gates out to much static eletricity, someone is producing a ton of power or alot of magnetic flux. I'm suiting up to hop the fence but going helmet down as I walk to the building."

He goes to the trunk of his car and armors up and heads back towards the gate pausing at the window, "Jen just let me carry you over the fence. Still keeping it low key but everyone knows Tony Stark likes to show off."

Stark pulls the travel case for his armor from the trunk and, with the flick of a button, the case opens and the suit envelopes him -- a function where tiny segments form to cover him (something that could be hard to believe that Stark did not design solely to look impressive) -- and he becomes the invincible Iron Man. The interior of the armor is cooler than the outside temperature, but while it deflects the sun’s rays it also becomes highly reflective (showing off without trying harder).

Women that Stark puts his arm around are usually much less plain than Jen Walters, relatively speaking, but at the moment, carrying her over the gate is the easiest way to the front of the mansion. The air is still, the environment is quiet, the grass is green -- almost too still, too quiet, too green. If there was any expectation for something to happen as Stark made his way levitating by repulsor-propelled boots and carrying Walters, it dissipates when he lands in the middle of the driveway on the other side of the gate and the day continues. There is a long, wide path that divides the yard in two, and runs up to the building, then around, presumably to the back, but another walkway leads to the massive, oaken front door. There is no movement from anything. With no breeze in the air, even the grass does not sway. If looking hard enough, the clouds might be seen to move across the sky, though as minimally as could be.

The Black Widow taps buttons on the dashboard, the monitors switch but with no new images, and she keeps her attention out the Quinjet’s window. She speaks through her headset but it could also be to herself. “Stark,” she says. “We're going to need to set down. It's not good to be sitting up here.“

Nearer to the ground, a bird chirps in the distance.

Mysterious d8 added to Doom Pool.

Doom Pool: 2d6 +d8 = 2d6, d8

Tony sighs, "Nat sit it down. The area is undergoing a massive amount of magnetic flux. Stay seated, unless you see Eric floating nearby this isn't Wanda."

He shakes his head and lets his helmet retract, "Well now. Magnetic flux, high heat, and static electricity. If this was AIM I'd say they were playing with a new form of reactor. " He chuckles and a bit sluggish but determined he walks on, "I'm intrigied now and this is even more fun. Two deering do gooders setting off into the unknown! Why its practically medieval with me the knight in shining armor striding fowward with his legal beagle to save the damsel."

OOC:

He shakes his head despite knowing she can't see it, "No. I've not the equipment to check it but the gravity might be having more effects as we get closer to the mansion.
If you have to scout only around the jet. If I have to go inside we'll revisit it.

Iron Man takes Sluggish Armor d6 Complication

Please note PP tally in posts (preferably at end)

“Quiet, Sofen,” the Widow says, as if to someone who has tried to mercilessly kill her and her friends multiple times. “You do not get to contribute here. And Avengers communication equipment is not available to you,” she says, switching it off with another button.

She turns her attention back to the ship. “Avengers park where they need to." Before Captain Marvel can open her mouth to protest, the Widow pulls back the altitude lever and flips a series of switches to set a landing in motion. “It was Stark’s idea to be subtle but now he’s blown that himself.” She sighs. “Damn you, Barton,” she mutters, under her breath. Then to Marvel or herself or anyone, “If we’ve already been made then we’re just sitting ducks up here. And we’re going to be stronger when we’re not split up.”

The Quinjet lowers, losing the white obscuration of the cloud through the window as it drops from the sky. Shortly, it touches down on the ground, pointed toward the mansion, with a full view through the window, but still a few dozen yards away. Iron Man and Walters are visible at a distance, close to the mansion. And still, no movement, nothing happening save what the heroes do, no sound but birds.

As the heroes disembark the jet to set foot on the wide expanse of grass between the gated wall in one direction and the mansion in the other, the Widow, striding past Ms. Marvel, calls to her. “Sofen,” Black Widow says. “A word?”

As the Widow and Ms. Marvel stare each other down in their huddle outside the Quinjet, the Vision, to this point stone-face and upright, rises into the air, his synthezoid eyes fixed on the mansion. The jewel in the middle of his forehead catches a ray of sunlight and it flashes brilliantly for an instant. “Wanda,” he utters quietly as he silently makes his way toward the building.

The Widow turns toward him, breaking from her conversation. “Vision!” she calls.

Ms. Marvel lets the Russian superspy have her moment. The sentiment was not unexpected, especially from a hard-ass like Widow. Aside from Carol Danvers, Karla knew that Natasha would be the hardest Avenger to convince that she had made a face turn.

Widow was tough, but Karla already had her defenses up. The Russian droned on about puffed-up threats, and that Sofen was being watched. As though that wasn't predictable.

Ms. Marvel let the Widow have her say, and was about to offer a rebuttal when Vision opted to blaze a trail towards the mansion on his own. Based on her reaction, Widow clearly disapproved.

Karla smirked, "Are you certain you're in charge here? Because the android just decided to storm the castle."

I'll skip the extra PP. Still at 1.

Carol can feel the tension in the air. One of their own is possibly in danger, but this place seems so...innocuous.  It holds secrets, that's for sure, but what if Wanda is here of her own volition?

As the Quinjet descends to the ground, Carol looks over the passengers. Fellow Avengers all, like family except for Black Cat (she doesn't know much about her except that she has some connection to Spider-Man) and Sofen (Sofen can go to hell if she thinks she'll <tr>ever</tr> refer to her as Ms. Marvel. At least if she was outfitted as Moonstone that would be slightly honest.) A flash of intense anger flares, but she's disciplined, as life in the Air Force taught her. It's pushing the envelope of her trust in Hawkeye's decision making ability, but for now...she'll be a good soldier and put her emnity aside. She can't afford the distraction of having to watch her back constantly.

The tension lessens as Widow takes Sofen out of the Quinjet. Carol is slightly annoyed by the  waiting for Stark, yet doesn't want to just rush in again.

However, as she watches Vision suddenly rise up and drift out of the Quinjet, Carol instantly has a bad feeling about what is about to happen.

The Amazing Avengers #3: "...What So Proudly Hated"

Black Widow shoots Ms. Marvel her most heated glare yet but it’s tinged with impatience. “I’ll deal with you later,” she remarks. The Vision has already gotten a head-start on her and she can’t cover the distance to him before he’s already gone.

He had given the assembled heroes around him a short look before he began drifting, then flying to the mansion. “Wanda,” he had said, looking at the building after he turned from his companions. “She is in there. I must go.” Then he was away.

“Vision!” was the last thing the Widow could call to him. He did not reply. Well before she could catch up to him, he had reached the mansion and, without sound, had phased into it, disappearing like he was never there.

The Widow stops and looks after where he had gone, as if to find something, but there is nothing. The only trace the synthezoid left is the memory he was there. She breathes with exasperation. But her sprint has brought her to the proximity of the mansion, not far from where Iron Man and Jen have reached in their walk there, within a short distance of the front door. She looks to her teammates, ready to follow what they are to do next but ready to take over if they become adrift.

Karla sighed heavily, conceding the last word to the Russian superspy. For now, it was enough that she stood up for herself. Despite their protests, she really intended to give this Ms. Marvel gig her best shot.

Barton vouched for her, and while it pained her to admit as much, that counted for something. If nothing else, she owed him the courtesy of sticking with this for the time being.

"I'll go fetch the robot," stated Karla flatly. She did not wait for a response, as the new Ms. Marvel went immaterial and followed the Vision's flight path to find Wanda.

I'll create a "Ghostly Defense" Asset, representing my phasing state helping me skulk about and, if necessary, to protect against attack.

Team d8, Moonstone d8, Intangibility d10, Combat d8
Dice Pool: d10, 3d8, rolled for 4,1,3,8.
Total: 12, d8 effect, 1 opp. If successful, I'll spend a PP to extend the Asset for the scene.
1 opp = 1 PP, so I'm still at 1 PP.

He reaches up as if to straighten his tie and remembers he's in his suit and shrugs and looks to ring the door bell if there is one.

+d6 to Doom Pool from Ms. Marvel's Opportunity

Doom Pool (2d6, d8) reaction to Ms. Marvel's attempt to create Ghostly Defense Asset, Total: 12, Effect: d8 (msg #25):
Watcher rolled 4,5,6 using d6,d6,d8 ((4,5,6)).

Total: 11, Effect: d8

Ghostly Defense d8 Asset created by Ms. Marvel

As Ms. Marvel draws attention to herself, the Widow sprints after her before she phases into the structure. “Sofen! Stop!” Once the Widow has gained ground to be close enough to communicate, she barks, “You will not enter this place before I say, and especially not illegally. The Vision is not your matter to tend to. If you want to make a go at heroing and teaming with the Avengers, you're on my leash. You run off again, you will be treated as an enemy. Once again, are we clear?

With the Widow off after Marvel, Iron Man, Walters, and the other heroes who have approached the building are left at the door. From here, the mansion could be any building, albeit an ornate, massive one. The doorbell could be attached to any dwelling. When Iron Man presses it, it emits a chime like any other, the sound muffled as it comes from inside. There is no sound to replace it as its echo recedes.

A breeze rustles from nowhere, created suddenly by the speed of a person who has run up at great velocity. It is the veteran Avenger and mutant, Quicksilver. His blue costume is scuffled and dirty, his hair tousled beyond being wind-blown, and he is out of breath, a rare state. His eyes are wide and wild and he looks behind him more than he looks at the heroes at the front door. He gasps: Avengers. You must leave immediately. It is far too dangerous for anyone here. She may already be too far gone. Go. Now. I implore you. Please go.”

The front door opens. In his classic blue-and-gold uniform with a mask leaving his perfectly-combed hair exposed, it is Cyclops, leader of the X-Men. “Hello!” he says, with a welcoming smile.

Looking back at Quicksilver, the speedster is gone, so far removed that it is like he was never there.

Vance felt like his feet were stuck in cement of indecision. He could relate to Black Cat notion and his own sense of dread was growing. It was not something specific it was more a gut feeling no it was more, they were not even a full team at this stage just random people with a lot of baggage.

The unusual phenomena surrounding the house and Quicksilver abrupt appearing disappearing sending ominous warning act did not aid his sense of dread.

He stood by Black Cat and Captain Marvel knowing that this is a critical moment for the team and sometimes you need to swallow your ego and do what is best for the team.

"I am ready when you give the go..." he said only to noticed his comm was off, switching the thing on he tried to hide his embarrassment and spoke to the comm "Justice is ready on your call Widow."
