Is it any easier to hit the tech than the troopers? I have a very low chance to beat a 15 with three dice.

Re: The Cantina (Game Forum Default & OOC Thread [Read First])

Yes Shira, it should be.  Old Fossil said the tech was ONLY holding on to poor Emessee this round.  Also he may not have body armour like the troopers.

Troopers are harder because they're...

Super Troopers and their gonna find us,
crazy on the run (supah troopah)
We're not having fun (supah troopahs)
How I wish I had a gun

To fight the

Super Troopers blasters gonna blind me
Then what will I do?
We'll be feeling blue.
I think our rebel days are through! *

To the tune of ABBA's infamous hit of course:-). You're welcome.

Re: The Cantina (Game Forum Default & OOC Thread [Read First])

I may have been unclear in my posting and I apologize if that is the case.

The tech is as difficult to hit as the Stormtroopers as all are using their available cover to their advantage.  The tech is just much easier to damage.  Armor in this game doesn't make you harder to hit (it is usually the opposite), it just soaks up damage.

You all have had some bad luck this round in Ali's terrible botch of an Initiative roll.  You can now start taking advantage of cover.

TwoOneBee has a long way to walk to get to shut off the blast doors, that was what supposed to make this a difficult battle.  But I can't fault you because you have low-rent Jedi capable of doing it with a gesture.

Next round, playing the odds, Thuraya will shut the doors, giving the team at least temporary safety.  That said, TwoOneBee's slow march into battle is a great character moment!

About the tech, I appreciate the clarification.  It's been a very long time since I've played this system.

As for trying to get to the blast doors. It's a sort of R2D2 thing to do isn't it?

Never fear I am at work now, but I'll post in the morning.  In addition to the two med pacs we found TwoOneBee carries a spare too, if needed.

Y' know, in twenty years of using this system, I've never actually been healed before. What's the process for this? Did we die?

Re: The Cantina (Game Forum Default & OOC Thread [Read First])

No, I was just reading the STAR WARS RE UP pdf, which I, of course, am not allowed to post here I believe.  How wounded you are depends on the STRENGTH roll you make verses the damage you received, as I understand it.  I do know that, successful use of a Medpac allows you to heal up one step from where you were.  If you're wounded, then you become Incapacitated etc.

At least that's how I understand it.

Re: The Cantina (Game Forum Default & OOC Thread [Read First])

There shouldn't be much issue posting REUP, since they didn't have much issue posting the book themselves in the first place. Pretty sure that's already posted somewhere in this game, though.

And I guess how we're doing depends on the difficulty of your roll, then.

Re: The Cantina (Game Forum Default & OOC Thread [Read First])

Hm.  It has been a while for me too.  But here is what I understand.

Shira will heal her stun naturally in a moment or two (which your characters have) so no special action is required.

Celes is wounded and a successful First Aid skill and the use of a medpac will completely heal her.  Same for Ali.  The First Aid roll is Easy, a six or better will do it.

Feel free to check my math.  It has been a few years. :-)

Re: The Cantina (Game Forum Default & OOC Thread [Read First])

For those who are interested, my superhero game cratered and I am now starting a new game of Sigmata on another board.  Here is a simple link to the Kickstarter page which describes the setting as well as any page does (get your radical mix tapes ready)

https://www.kickstarter.com/pr...ignal-kills-fascists

As before, you are welcome to join the new game or not as you will.  I'm grateful enough to have you excellent players in this game. :-)

IC post tomorrow, I think...

It is out, the kickstarter was just the best capsule of the game.

Here is the DriveThruRPG link to buy: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/p...ignal-Kills-Fascists

But a good intro is another GM's intro document (the .pdf file at the end of this page): https://fifthlevelnerd.com/sig...roject-fallen-angel/

It's a very grim premise, but certainly an interesting one.  Very sorry your superhero game didn't work out.  I love super games.  This new game looks dark, desperate and intense.  I could certainly appreciate that sort of atmosphere; it usually leads to character driven stories, which are right up my alley.

Ah, games come and go.  Not many games have this group's stamina. :-)

I will send the link to the Roll20 game to anyone who wishes.  How awful can your eighties fashions get (or do I repeat myself?)?

Amazingly awful. Doesn't sound like my sort of thing, myself, but I wish you the best of luck. I have a soft spot for the 80s. :P

Re: The Cantina (Game Forum Default & OOC Thread [Read First])

It's actually Play-by-Post.  The game was considered so controversial on my other PbP board that not only was it not allowed, all discussion of it was locked ( https://www.myth-weavers.com/showthread.php?t=473966 ).

So I had to find two boards that had already had hosted Sigmata games, there was this one on RPoL ( link to another game ) and Roll20.  The fellow exiles at my original PbP board were more familiar with Roll20 so there it is.
