OOC Thread
This thread is intended for purely Out-of-Character (OOC) conversation. If players want to have a conversation outside the story, this is the place to do it. Players will be allowed to post OOC comments in the story thread (more on that elsewhere), but if it gets too far off-topic, then the conversation should be moved to this thread, so the story thread doesn't get too cluttered with less-than-relevant conversation. As GM, I reserve the right to simply declare that an OOC conversation should be moved to this thread.

With regards to topics, this is an all-purpose thread. You may discuss whatever you choose; all I ask is that you maintain a civil tongue. Have fun!

OOC Thread
One thing I like about this forum for gaming is that I have time to think through my reactions. In live games, as player or as GM, I often find myself thinking of better responses (which still would have fit the characters) just after a session is over. It's not that I can't think on my feet, it's just that my mental engine runs on diesel instead of gasoline; it will run better if given a little time to warm up. Here, I have that time, and so can try to craft a better game for you guys.

Take the current scene, for example. If this were a live game and I responded the way I have, it would be a not-so-subtle sign of railroading: I've planned a combat, and you will either fight it or start off your superhero careers by being captured, which is hardly an auspicious beginning. In the online forum, however, I've had the chance to approach the NPCs not just as plot devices (more the GM's point of view), but as characters who neither know nor care about the plot (more the player's point of view), and try to reconcile the two into a consistent psychology. Here, I'm not railroading, I'm truly responding In-Character. Not only that, but unlike Calvin being beat up by Moe, I can come up with the witty retorts before I say anything. :D

What do you think?

Absence
Hey guys, I'm going to be gone all this coming weekend, so if you all (finally) get things really moving in the game, you're gonna have to go without me for a few days. Just fyi.

I've been lenient on this so far, but I remind you now: I expect you all to post at least once a week as appropriate. I know at least one of you has been basically without Internet for a while (you know who you are), but now that we're all back, it's time to get this thing in gear. Now go forth, and be awesome! POST!

PS: If you take too long without telling me you need more time, I WILL look for ways to just go around you. It will actually be simplest in combat, where I will just say you've held your action.
