Thane Harkensen:
Shane,
I'm not sure I understand how the Goblin could attack Thane and then Disengage. According to the rules, both of those count as "Actions", which are not the same as "Move". Thus, by the rules, either the Goblin could not attack and thus use the Disengage action instead, or the Goblin attacks and then departs thus risking Thane's attack of opportunity.
Am I correct, or am I missing something in the wording of the rules?
Rob
Goblins have an ability called Nimble Escape that allows them to take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.
Monsters don't always follows the same rules as PCs.
edit: If I had been playing them smartly, I would have had them strike and retreat throughout the encounter, but I forgot about the ability :)
