As the door to the small storeroom slid to the side, the source of the blood was made clear. Twenty of the Blue Star Six crew members are on the floor, all have been shot at point blank range.

A look of dismay and disgust passes over Jack's face, he slowly lowers his raised rifle, held at the ready as Chadwick opened the door.  "We've got to record this," he says in a raspy whisper, "if this was the pirates' work they have a great deal to answer for."

Matt looked into the room, and paled. "Shit..."

After Jack spoke up, Matt nodded, and stepped into the room, beginning to record each person's face, and retrieve any ID badges, face set. While it was fairly obvious what had likely happened, he treated it as a crime scene, recording everything he could. Partially just to calm  himself, he said, in a dull, professional voice, "When we get back to a proper lab, we can test the guns of the pirates against the bullets here, and then lay proper charges from there."

The Reveal
A wave of shock rocks throughout Chad's body silently and motionlessly as he views the massacre before his eyes.  Anger sweeps behind the wave of shock and permeates his demeanor.  He falls back on practiced breathing techniques to quell the endorphin rush that swelling rage brings to his frame.

In a stern and hard-edged tone of voice Chad says, "we do everything by numbers here so some snot-nosed lawyer can't poke holes through our work at a later date.  Let's seal this room up and continue a sweep of the station.  There may be more Blue Star Six crew members that we need to find."

He shakes his head sadly and says looking over the dead bodies, "this smells of a cover up.  Something bigger than just a pirate raid went down here.  It's up to us to find out what it was if we want any sort of justice done for these people."

The Reveal
Julia faces a wall, steadies herself, heaves and vomits her breakfast onto the deck. She wipes her mouth and says to herself, "Get your shit together Julia, you're the medic!". She turns to the others, "Sorry about that. We need to try and find any possible survivors."

Julia notices that the crew have comms devices on their shirts. "Let's see if the ship's comms is working. That will be fastest way to identify if there are any survivors." She studies a nearby console, and points to the console, "Ship schematics are still working. We're here, Comms is there, in the Bridge....". Julia points out the other critical areas of the ship.

Seeing the reaction on everyone's face Andrew stops from moving through the second airlock and turns back to the commotion. Watching as Julia ralphs all over the floor Andrew pulls an extra rag and hands it over to Julia as he gets near. Taking a peak into the room Andrew discovers why. With a sick grimace on his face he shakes his head. "I've seen men pasted through accidents, dismembered through machinery, but dang that's cold."

As Julia pipes up about the locations Andrew moves to the side of Matthew and flicks his thumb at Matthew. "Why don't we check out communications. Check for logs, see if that distress call is on a loop and maybe shut it down. Oh and not that I'm like super commando or anything, but I don't think using the native comms is a good idea. Any more pirates on board may be alerted by our attempt to use em. I'd take a badge just in case but lets not tip our hand just yet."

Chad nods affirmatively and says, "let's seal this up for now and move on to the station's communications office.  Stay frosty."

The Reveal
In the Bridge, a lot of the control panels are flashing warning lights, sirens are blaring. The panels of major interest are:

1 Comms and Officer's Logs
The panel needs power. The station's intercom and long range comms is damaged. This will require minor repair, and not require main power.

2 Main Control
The logs show that:
The main reactor has been totally destroyed, by a massive explosion of some kind.
The secondary reactor kicked in, but immediately got overloaded by the station's demands and shut down.
The station is on emergency battery power.

3 Navigation
This shows that the station is drifting off course, and dangerously close to the planet's violent jet streams.

Upon reaching the bridge, Matt looks around, and then heads to the main control board. After looking over the displays and logs, he pulls up power distribution, and looks for a survivable way to reduce the station's power usage to the point that the secondary reactor can be restarted and handle the load.

10:23, Today: Matthew Winslow rolled 23 using 1d100.  Computer Use roll (65).

The Reveal
On the Power Distribution display, red flashing warning icons appear where Matt has reduced the load on life support.

Upon hitting the Restart button, the secondary reactor fires up, along with the orbit correction thrusters. The station shudders briefly, and the secondary reactor trips out.

The Power Distribution display, shows that the orbit correction thrusters consume more power than the secondary reactor can supply.

"Damn it!" Chad curses under his breath, "this is going FUBAR quickly.  Alright.  Matt, see if you can get a location on any other Blue Star Six employee IDs in the station."
