Verna reads the letter and then goes about ordering food to break her fast. As she eats she wonders what this could be about.

Re: For here is where we meet and here is where we start

In reply to The Storyteller (msg # 182):

Thracce had spent most of the evening sipping tea and considering possibilities on how to find his sister. The most promising which he would have wanted to discuss with a mage if there is one in the group,is to obtain and Magic Pigeon scroll and send her a message then simply follow it, but may need to increase his funds to be able to afford several in case he is unable to reach her, or perhaps to make the acquaintance of a wizard who could cast it for him. Also if she is on some island beyond the shore his phantom steed will not be able to carry him over water. But she seems safe and not in danger for now,so may have time to plan a proper rescue. He speaks of his ideas and plans to Jalahada, unclear if Oronos will be able to assist him with his quest. He remains troubled and did not sleep well as he continues to try to come up with a plan to find his sister. at least his inner power reserves have been restored.

"Good morning." he bids to those present from the night before.

He considers the letter, an odd surprise. He examines the seal before opening it

"Order of the scroll?" he turns it over noticing the obvious, no directions or further instructions on how to actually find the "Order". He will ask the person that gave him the note if there was any information the person who gave them the note or they have ever heard of the "Order".

Re: For here is where we meet and here is where we start

Rubbing his temples as he comes down the stairs and heads for the same table he sat at the night before he, his eye brow arches heavily.  Sitting down he orders a breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast with a mug of ale.  Once his food is ordered Grudgebearer opens and reads over the letter.

A quizzical look comes across his face, Order of the Scroll, that was what that strange cloaked man was talking about last night.  Well when he saw him he would make it a point to talk to him, if that man had volunteered him for work they were going to have words.

Grudgebearer will finish his breakfast when it comes and wait for the one called Thilo to speak with him.

Thilo leaves his room and proceeds to go downstairs and will take the envelope when handed to him, looking around the room upon seeing the dwarf Grudgebearer, Thilo walks over.

"May I join you again this morning Master Dwarf, I see you have also received an invitation to the Order of the Scroll.  I myself will be going shortly after this mornings meal, if you wish to accompany me I would be more then willing to travel with you to see what this is about."

When Grudgebearer's food comes, Thilo will order the same but have hot water for his tea instead of the ale.

Re: For here is where we meet and here is where we start

Korin comes downstairs slightly hungover and takes a seat across from Verna. He reads the scroll through blurry eyes then tosses it onto the table. He will order some fruit if they have any. If not he will skip breakfast.

"Do you intend on answering this summons? It must be because of the scuffle out front. If it had my name on it I would run but the generic salutation leads me to believe this is probably just some group with wealth or influence looking for flunkies. I suppose being a flunky is honest enough work. Provided the pay is commensurate to my talent."

In reply to Thilo Brighthand (msg # 186):

Looking up to the cloaked man, Grudgebearer gave him penetrating stare trying to look past the darkness of the hooded man.

"You are a strange man Sir and I mean no disrespect, I will say that I am suspicious of your actions last night, seeing as of this morning I in front of me a request from an source unknown to me but known to you as you said last night.  Should you be gaming me sir, you will find my temperament quite short."

Jalahada enters the tavern portion of the establishment and is also given a letter that apparently has been given to others as well. The effeminate elf doesn't interact with any one and sit down at a table in the corner.

Re: For here is where we meet and here is where we start

In reply to Grudgebearer (msg # 188):

Thilo's body language gave nothing away he was sure other then the typical dwarven threat which caused Thilo's head to tilt slightly.

"I assure you Master Dwarf, I am not "gaming you" as you put it.  I only know about the request from a fellow scholar from the Isle of Bletherad which is why I came in haste to Wisdom.  I was not aware that invitations would be going out.  It can only mean a couple of things, one the request is a serious one, second it seems that only certain individuals have been handed the invitation.  Which means that it is not a simple request, I am well aware of my own skill set and you also know doubt are more skilled then you let on along with the others.  From the sound of the fight the night I arrived the bow women is very skill and so is the young one.  Whatever the task it is definitely worth the time to hear them out.  As I said earlier would you join me this morning and if you are willing after you have some food we may go and see what is worth a personal invitation." ((Spoken in Dwarvish))

With that Thilo looks for a table and sits down ordering a small plate of whatever is being served.

In reply to Thilo Brighthand (msg # 190):

"Hmmmrrrffff"

Grudgebearer's eyebrows raise as the cloaked man speaks in Dwarvish, it was not uncommon but also it was not often.  It was more often that the people spoke a dialect of elvish, much to the frustration of dwarven kind.  Grudgebearer did not let the language distract him to much and listened to the man named Thilo.  There was a tenseness in Grudgebearer that lifted ever so slightly once Thilo finished and took a seat.

"Aye I will breakfast with you Thilo and I will go to this Circle of the Scroll, a Dwarf does not often turn down a personal invite.  As to my skills I don't know how they measure up to you or the others I have met.  My hope is that we won't be in need of my fighting skills."

Grudgebearer takes Thilo's lead and orders a breakfast of some slices of cooked meats, thick slices of bread and cheese and a jug of ale.

In reply to Korin Simmat (msg # 187):

"I suppose I will answer these summons, if only to see what the job or task given is. I would not worry that this is somebody looking for flunkies. If that was the case these letters would be posted all over town."

"No, I'll wager that these summons were given specifically to us, and us alone."

In reply to Caspar Uhla Thracce (msg # 184):

When asked the questions from Caspar the staff member gives him a quizzical look and then starts to speak.

" Yes Sir, the Order of the Scroll is located north west of the Inn more north then west but inside the city limits beside the Institution of Science.  We can arrange for a guide if you wish good Sir or perhaps some of the others may know the way and you may wish to travel with them.  I could ask for you if you wish Sir."

The staff member seems honestly confused by the question, it would be safe to assume that most of the locals would think it common knowledge

"Wonderful, that would be lovely. I've only just arrived in town and haven't had a chance to fully explore. I'll just check then." he responds. Thracce turns "I'm arranging a guide unless any of you know the way." if none do he proceeds, if someone does he thanks the staff member for the offered of assistance. Either way he is ready to leave right now. "Shall we be off then?"

In reply to Caspar Uhla Thracce (msg # 194):

From his sitting position Thilo raises his hand, his head not rising from the meager food he ordered.

"I know the way, the Master Dwarf and I were heading there once were done eating.  It would not hurt I am sure to be early to this invitation.  Scholars can be a rather finicky bunch, I have been around enough to know this for truth.  I will be outside for ten minutes for any who wish to come and for any stragglers who have not decided to answer the call yet."

Placing payment on the table in a rather clumsy manner Thilo tsk's at himself and proceeds to stand, grabbing hold of his staff and walks to the door.

"Excellent." Thracce looks across the room for "Onoro", nodding to him . He reaches behind his head with his right hand checks his black sword over his left shoulder, then with his left hand under behind his back he checks the red blade on his right. Makes  small adjustments so they pull quickly and freely before stepping out the door to wait.

In reply to Thilo Brighthand (msg # 196):

Grudgebearer listens with his head to the food shoveling it in as fast as he can, with Thilo kinda forcing his hand by leaving earlier then originally agreed Grudgebearer finishes his last bite and then wipes his face with his beard.  Grabbing his round shield and dwarven war hammer Grudge waits outside with those gathering to head out.  While he waits for others to arrive Grudgebearer finds a cool spot and sits down, pulling out a piece of briar stonewood that he purchased of a lumber merchant when near the disputed zone, he was currently in the process of making a fine tobacco pipe to anyone that would recognize carving.

Re: For here is where we meet and here is where we start

With Thilo leading the way through Wisdom it does not take long to arrive at Lake Hurst, not due to Thilo's guiding skills but just to the fact that is truly was a simple walk and traffic was lite in what is known as the school district of Wisdom.

The loose banded group comes to the entrance of Lake Hurst which is walled off completely by an eight foot tall stone wall with a strong iron gate roughly in the center being the only apparent entrance to the grounds.  Above the gate on the keystone of the arch is a perfectly carved circle, the left and right of the gate at eye level are two alcoves.  The one on the right has a fine iron chain and the one on the left an iron scone with a torch ready to be lit.

In reply to The Storyteller (msg # 199):

Grudgebearer had waited a couple minutes once they had got to Lake Hurst, everyone seemed pretty underwhelmed but that was more then fair.  He had attempted to fix some of his whittling mistakes on the way there, but with trying to stay with the group and avoiding other pedestrians it had been a futile effort.  Folding up the delicate work in a soft piece of leather Grudge put it away in a small pouch hanging off his belt.  Dusting his hands off of any small woods shavings, Grudge walks up to the chain inspecting it by looking into the roof of the alcove.  Not one to test things out Grudgebearer will attempt to pull on the chain.

In reply to Grudgebearer (msg # 200):

Grudgebearer pulls on the chain, it gives smoothly and then returns to its previous position, for minutes nothing happens, no one is paying enough attention to notice that a man has appeared and opened the gate and is politely bowing while his arm is in a position welcoming you to enter.  As you all enter and gather on the other side he closes the gate and walks to the group.  He is a finely dressed middle aged man with exceptionally well groomed facial hair, no jewelry adorns his hands rather a pair of fine pristine white gloves.  By anyone's account mistaking this man for anything other then the mansions Master Butler would be nonsensical, as if to drive home the point he speaks up.

"Good day gentlemen, my name is Harden Yosavick, I am the Master Butler here at Lake Hurst.  What would bring you here on this fine spring morning?"

In reply to Korin Simmat (msg # 202):

Harden Yosavick politely takes the summons from Korin from all appearances completely ignoring both his comments.  With the summons open in one hand, Mr. Yosavick retrieves what appears to be reading glasses from his coat pocket.  Holding them just to the bridge of his nose Mr. Yosavick reads the summons, once done he puts his reading spectacles away, returns the paper to Korin and looks to the rest of the group.

"Would I be safe to assume you all have a similar document?, if not please speak up and if so please retrieve it.  I do not need to read it just so much as see it for now will be fine."

Reaching into another one of the pouches on his belt Grudgebearer mumbles something indecipherable to the rest of the group and produces his letter.  A look of frustration was clearly evident and Grudge was not doing well hiding the classic dwarven demeanor.  He would be on his way home now, but the damn Goblin had wanted to travel into Wisdom, only to disappear and he of course gets stuff with some strange invite.

"Should have just went home"

Grudgebearer mumbles again as he puts away the document once he receives the nod from from Mr.Yosavick
