House Rules

When in doubt, DON’T ROLL
Please don’t roll unless I ask you to. Rolling with the hope that something will happen will not help you.

ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES
Characters in this game are free to act as they choose. However, your character does not exist in a vacuum. If you do harm to others wantonly or build a reputation for robbing or pillaging, it will affect you, including potential re-arrangement of your Icon Relationships or even your alliance with other player characters.

It is an unfortunate reality of gaming at RPOL.net that the diceroller is horrid. It just is. It has a tendency to roll low a disproportionate amount of the time for no clear reason. The proprietors deny it vigorously, but the fact remains that it is wonky, to say the least.

To offset this, I am in the habit of offering free opportunities to re-roll to players. Borrowing from the excellent Savage Worlds game system, I call these re-roll tokens "Bennies."

You will get Bennies awarded periodically for fun in roleplaying or when I think the story warrants a refresh.

To use one, simply declare use of it in Orange text in the IC thread and re-roll your roll, subtracting one from the total in your Biography. You can use as many Bennies on a single roll as you want, up to your limit. They can be applied to any roll of the d20. With apologies, they can't be applied to any other dice.

Also, the singular of Bennies is "Benny" not "Bennie." Just FYI :-)

When you use a Benny, roll until you get a 10 or above on the die. Consider it my revenge against the diceroller.

If you're using the Benny to make a saving throw of 11+, you don't have to roll--just declare you're using the Benny.
