I discussed this in my invite, but it bears repeating. This is a very demanding game, especially for the keeper, me (you'll see why when I start introducing NPCs). But also for players because it is heavy on detail and nuance. When I throw clues out, I generally won't say that I'm doing so -- I'll just sprinkle them into an NPCs' conversation, for instance, or they'll be obliquely mentioned in a newspaper article, or what have you.

Also, as I said, this is a campaign with a slow buildup heavy on immersion. It's a full Antarctic expedition with all that that entails. So don't be expecting lots of action.

On the other hand, combat in Call of Cthulhu is very deadly, so if it happens it may be lethal. While you're in New York, replacement characters can be brought in from there; while you are en route to Antarctica, they can be brought in from one of your stopping points. But once you are actually on the Ice, they will have to be drawn from other members of the expedition.

Lastly, I hope you enjoy banter with NPCs, because there will be a lot of it. ;)

I'm a little concerned about something.

Because of differences in posting rates, I think that Cecily's arc will probably be exhausted by the time that Vlad and Bertie and ready for the arcs to be combined.

Well, things are ramping up for me at work and school this week, so if I need to hang back for a week or whatever, that's ok by me!

Hi all, happy to meet you.

Been lurking for a while and Chris managed to rope me in. My name's Soren, I'm from Denmark but now live in the US. Been around for a while, and have played rpg's for about 40 years. :)

There's going to be a 2-day-ish hiatus, since I have to take a plane to the US. (20 hours including stopover! Yay!)

Till then, Enke, Vlad, and Bertie can interact in the Rose Room if you want.

I forgot to mention it, but Bertie and Vlad see Peter Sykes and Doctor Greene in the room (not First Officer Turlow -- he's ship's crew, not an expedition member)

When I ran this before, at this point, I hunted up a photo for each expedition member and gave them each a little speech.

This took me hours and hours, as there are a couple dozen. :)

This time, I will hunt up photos when you interact with the individual NPCs in any depth and simply describe them very summarily at this point, after you have given your introductions to them.

The sooner I get reactions to the stuff Moore says, the sooner we can get out of the intro bit :)
