Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
"Oh, easy, check this out."he opened a drawer and pulled out a leftover firecracker that he didn't get to use, and went over to the front door.  Upon lighting it with a match, he slightly opened the door and threw it outside as it began making loud bang sounds he locked the door again, yelling, "It's not going to distract them forever, let's cut through the back and make a break for my car!"

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Amber springs out the doorway as fast as she can and runs towards the car. The windigo tries to attack, but it gets caught on the rails, giving a little extra time.

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Ignoring the dog, which is noisy but largely irrelevant, Marigold stays perched in her tree, watching the windigo intently.  She's not entirely sure what it is, but it looks interestingly dangerous, to be sure.

She sees it lunge towards something, and that something starts running across the yard.  Aha!  A chase!  This promises to be interesting.  Though she's not sure fleeing is the option she'd have taken -- she only counts a dozen or so zombies, and the one real hunter.  Still, a chase is always fun.

But then, they seem to be headed towards one of those modern chariots.  If the chase moves to those, even she won't be able to keep up to see who dies.  Well.  Thinking quickly, she moves a little further out on her branch, and then drops lightly to the ground, a few feet away from the dog, avoiding landing on its neck and killing it.  She takes off from there, making a line for the same chariot the people running from the building seem to be headed towards, letting the dog come after her.

"Help! Help!" she calls out.  "This frightening beast is chasing me!"

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Alex slipped on his brass knuckles and made for a full-on dashput of the backyard and towards the drivewain his front yard , pushing over any of the zombies that were in his way, using the trapped wendigo to his advantage. When he made it to hus car, he opened his car door an startrd the engin, rolling his eyes in exasperation as he heard another unfamiliar voice. "Oh you have to kidding me... Just get in!"

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Amber continues running towards the car, she gets in just as Marigold starts calling for help. Come on, can't it be morning already?! Then I could go home and grab some kind of weapon to help.

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
The dog chases after Marigold, it seems to be having fun. The windigo breaks free just as Marigold reaches the car. It lunges towards Marigold, trying to not completely fail the mission.

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Marigold keeps the dog between herself and the Wendigo as she runs towards the car, and dives in after Amber.  Finding the passenger seat bit crowded, then, she twists around and scrambles quickly between the front seats and into the back, where she turns and sticks her tongue out - at the dog, or the Wendigo, is hard to say.  Could be both.

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
The dog stops just before he crashes into the car, the wendigo wasn't so lucky. It appears to have misjudged its leap as it smashes into the car window, luckily not breaking anything. The dog growls at Marigold when she sticks her tongue out at them. Then he barks something that was probably supposed to be an insult in dog language, but you couldn't understand.

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
As the Wendigo hit the car, Alex waited a few seconds before giving everyone a thumbs up, starting the car and heading out the driveway and into the street. "Okay, in the clear! Now, can I ask who is our new arrival?", He slows his car to a more steady pace as they escape the enemies and enter into the main city road.

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Marigold is on her knees facing backwards in the seat, watching out the back window.  "Ooh, where?" she asks, and then turns to look at Alex.  "Oh, me?  Indeed!  My name is Marigold, faerie princess.  You have my admiration, good sir, for that daring and dramatic rescue."

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
"I'm really hoping that's the last time I ever have to do anything like that," Alex said, the tension now gone even though they were out past the curfew hours. "Alright everyone, where to? I'm not really looking forward to getting surrounded like that again so I'm going to probably stop someplace that's somewhat safe."

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Rather than join everyone in their dash for the car, Benedict made himself a small detour... and if BRVR was all about friendship, then the magic animal was likely staying with him.  Besides, BRVR was very much needed for Benedict's plan.  Locating the building's firehose... Benedict brought it to a nearby window and turned it on, giving the street zombies and other nasties a good soaking.  Great care was taken to ensure that none of his companions were touched by a single drop of water.  Shutting off the water, Benedict turned to BRVR with a Cheshire grin.

"Why don't you finish these things off with a good dose of electricity?"

As for the rest of their 'party', Benedict had already examined Alex's car previously.  He could find it again.

Marigold looks thoughtful at Alex's response.  "Mm.  Well, then, you have... my appreciation for allowing me to include myself in your mad dash to save yourself, I suppose.  I fear I am unfamiliar with this territory, but I generally find high ground is good when seeking safety," she suggests.

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
"It's no problem, I just feel like seeing someone get mauled in front of me isn't going to sit well with my mind." He considered safe spaces before he came up with an idea. "Next best thing for that is a hotel for the night on one of the higher floors... If there's more than one way out."

"Oh."  Marigold shrugs a little, turning around to sit facing forward, though she still sits with her legs tucked up under her rather than properly for a car.  "Then... you've my welcome, for not allowing myself to be mauled before you.  I shall endeavor to extend this favor well into the future."

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
"With everything that's going on right now I wouldn't worry about it." He only knew that it would be tougher for anyone to get by past the curfew hours. "We shouldn't even be out on the road right now, we're lucky that this isn't a busy part of town"

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Benedict hid his disappointment well enough.  Maybe he was buying into these 'magic powers' too readily, when guns and old fashion techniques could work just as well.

"I had hoped to see your electrical powers in action, but it seems our friends are away safely.  We could coddle them, although I'd like to see how they do on their own... at least for a little while."

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
"I know of a hotel somewhere. I can't remember what it's called but I know where it is." Amber tells Alex how to get to the hotel. "If something happens there's a door on the side of the building we can go out of, and we can always jump out the window if something really bad happens."

You guys make it to the hotel without being noticed by anything. If you want to do anything like talk or get food or something, then do it now. This is sorta a break from all the somewhat chaos of earlier.

(Sorry people! I had this typed up and everything for a long time before I realized that I never actually posted it!)

Prologue: The Beginning of the Apocalypse
Marigold looks about the hotel on the way to the room.  "And all of these rooms are identical?" she asks Alex and Amber, as we pass door after door.  "What a.. sterile place.  Is it made to confuse predators?  Like a herd of zebra?" she asks, curiously.

"No, none of that," Alex begins to explain, reibding himself that not everything is going to be common sense knowledge to some of the newer people in his world. "This is designed to be a temporary living space, so none of the rooms are going to be extremely different like the housing back near my neighborhood."
