Re: Loot

Oh, if your range is 20' then I'm in your camp on this and think you should have at least one if not both of the magic bonuses to your AC. You might as well be in melee at that point.

Re: Loot

20 is not Max range. Your max range is like 100. You just do not want to take the range increment penalties. But, since your to hits are all touch attacks of even better vs. AC5 on area effect attacks, you can certainly afford take some of those penalties.

Re: Loot

In reply to Jicca Mak (msg # 49):

Seems like the discussion boards agree with Jicca. But that's still max range 100 feet with a -8 penalty. The same range a bow user starts at. So we should think of Pipre as a knife thrower with Far shot, she's still fairly vulnerable

In reply to Viktoria d'Lodovka (msg # 51):

Far above it. The AoE attacks hit 4 squares for 2 to 5? damage at AC5 with -8. That is much better than a knife with PBS.

Re: Loot

But we aren't discussing attack bonus or damage per attack, we're discussing Armour Class.

And there the range at which she makes the attacks matters quite a bit

Re: Loot

Percy already has +1 Studded Leather on his back, so while a second set might be nice for Sunday Best, it's probably better used by one of your esteemed selves (Pipre ?) or someone in the other group ... or sold for what it'll fetch.

I'd like to hang on to the +1 Rapier, obviously ... which would mean that the MW Rapier Party Item Percy has goes back into the pool.  :>

Utterly devastated over the loss of the clay mug, though ... that's 2CP Percy will never see again !  <ROFL>

Re: Loot

In the basement there was mention of a large collection of tools, weapons, armour and miscellaneous adventuring equipment. Hopefully we will find there some of the usual gear that our characters would typically have bought with some of their treasure if they had access to shops instead of being isolated in a wilderness area.

I would like to find things for Andalon like 50ft silk rope, crowbar, bullseye lantern, flasks of oil, tindertwigs, paper, ink, ink pen, scroll case, alchemist's fire, antitoxin, bottles of fine wine, cleric's vestments, treasure map ... ;o)

Re: Loot

It has a length of Silk Rope wrapped around the outside- a water skin and a small pewter mug hanging from one side and a scroll case strapped to the other side.  Inside there are spare clothes for a female Halfling and a tightly rolled up length of white silk, decorated with red roses growing from a pile of rocks.   There is also a tightly closed leather bag that holds three metal  vials.  One rattles, one has black stains around the lid and the third contains something  but there are no clues from the outside.

Inside the scroll case there are two quill pens a roll of three sheets of paper and another rolled sheet, tied closed with a ribbon.

NOTE:  Don't even bother! You won't find another wishlist pack  :P

However, you can find all sorts on mundane tools (such as crow bars, hammers, shovels etc) Lanterns (of all sorts), lamp oil, water skins, casks of (not so fine) wine, ale etc - Oh, and a few bottles of Bokken's brew as well. As well as crockery, cutlery, cooking pots, mundane cloaks, shoes trousers etc ....

Re: Loot

Put it like this -  it will take  many wagons to transport the trade goods to somewhere that has a market where you can sell them.  And *Evil Grin*  I hate to think how much I am going to charge you to hire wagons and drivers :)

On the other hand, if you are building something here these goods are  are probably worth a more than the declared value  :)   Partly because I am not going to charge you a fortune to transport these particular  items out of here - and then charge you again to bring a whole set of similar items all the way back out here :P

Re: Loot

OK, so the spare clothes should go to Pipre  ... LOL!

Andalon will investigate the scroll case and its rolled sheets of paper and ink pens. Presumably the vial with black stains is ink? Does anyone else want some of them?

Pipre is probably more skilled at identifying the contents of the other two vials.

Everyone else is welcome to the other items - silk rope, waterskin, pewter mug, white silk, although Andalon will happily accept anything that others don't want.

Andalon will take a crowbar, bullseye lantern and 3 flasks of oil and add them to the gear already carried on his horse later.

The black stained vial contains ink.  The vial that rattles contains three tinder twigs.  The other vial holds a clear liquid that smells of antiseptic and peaches.

Andalon de Lebeda rolled 21 using 1d20+7.  Will save DC15 vs mysterious piece of paper.
