There are small formal invitation cards delivered for everyone -  hand written and very formal.

The family of The Honourable Valoria der lin Lebeda, Officer of Midmarch, requests the pleasure of the The Honourable Bai Kao, Officer of Midmarch, at her wedding to The Honourable, Cyrur Ondari, Officer of ….  etc etc.

It goes on to say that coaches will be provided, that the wedding takes place in the Small Chamber at the Temple of Abadar and that there will be a small celebration in The Gold Hall on the third floor of Ludivenko's afterwards.  The wedding is scheduled for the middle of the morning, with the ‘celebration’ intended to take the place of lunch.  And sure enough, at the appointed time, coaches arrive to collect everyone – so there is no need to walk through the streets of Restov in your smart clothes and jewellery.

With perfect timing, the coaches arrive at the temple, where there are ushers wearing Lebeda  and Cartan livery and junior priests to show you into the Large Chamber.    You can tell that valoria’s family have influence because Banker Kushisma Russino, head of the Church of Abadar and Chancellor of the City of Restov is there to conduct the service personally.

To one side of the banker stand Valoria’s mother and grandmother, accompanied by a man dressed in a highly decorated military dress suit with a dark green jacket, and those in the know are able to pass the word that he is Senior Sword Lord Horatio Lebeda-Berain, leader of the Northern Schools and a Councillor of the City of Restov. On the other side stand a  young man, dressed in a brown dress suit with a tankard at his belt.  Cyrus’s brother, Ajax.   There are others there as well.  Sir Ferdinand and Alex, Dame Velia, the Sword Lord’s wife - all dressed formally, and there to witness the wedding of friends and family.

The room itself is fairly plain, pure white walls with a key motif around the ceiling.  Chairs are laid out in rows, ready for you.  Val and Cyrus are motioned to the front -  the rest of you are shown to chairs ...
