What the hell? I attack with a 22, do 28 damage that cuts through DR and Hardness, my blade is poised to intercept one attack, and I got NO RESULTS???

Thank you AO, for keeping up fighting the good fight against that virus, it is toughest on the healthcare staff and I admire all of you going on despite the hardships.

That said, thank you for taking the time to work on the map and posting, despite feeling so worn out.

Apologies to Nino, but I think I just took out his opponent.

Kell, Neliwen is before you in the order of initiative, the switch happens before you can move to take Nino's ogre. Apart from that, why would you do that? There's still one just a few steps ahead of you.

I can attack 2 adjacent (to me) foes at the same time without incurring an attack penalty. Why not use it?

Never mind.

Sonora? By percentage, Quinn is the most hurt. He only has 50% of his hp.

I think Nino would just get confused with the transport anyways, Kell, so no worries.

Yeah, I had Covid, but nowhere bad enough that I had to go to the hospital. I had minor headaches, stuffed up nose, minor cough, but my back hurt pretty bad, I got dizzy when I walked around and I got tired really easy. Nothing that Dr. Jack Daniels couldn't handle. :)

even those of us who haven't had it, it has tired us all. Those of us on the front line have worked tirelessly.

And those who have or have had covid, i feel for you all. It's a shit of a virus

My sister in law just caught it the other day,  possibly from the vet that came to their house to help them put their dog to sleep.

No Covid here. I run into so many different dirty metals in the desert that I think I'm immune.

Holding off healing to see if Zell takes damage or not.

Neliwen can use the 'Touch of Healing' feat, which means she can heal anyone up to 50% of their HPs without using a spell (as long as she has a 'Cure' spell of level 2+ memorized). Just so people can keep this in mind for future fights.

So yes, you wouldn't know, but Neliwen does - that's why she is described as a sage.

Completely correct, but knowing specific things like that requires experience with that. Nino and Yacob have training in fighting them. All I'm saying is it is unlikely for PCs at our stage to know these things. Not impossible just unlikely. Not exactly my call though.

I agree. That said, as a Cloistered Cleric Neliwen's purpose is to drink and know things, hence she also has the Legend Lore ability like a bard's.

Thank you, it is appreciated! She had pneumonia and a blood infection that went septic. Sepsis almost took her, no clue she was even sick, no cough, fever or anything until the Sepsis, she got a fever.

I feel you Quinn.  My wife is in ICU right now for the same reasons.   She woke this morning complaining she couldn't breathe.   4th round of pneumonia in the last year.

Wow, I guess I'm lucky. I had Covid in January and I drank Jack Daniel's. I've been fine ever since. No vaccines since I was a kid 40+ years ago.

Oh dear, you have been hit hard, so my get well wishes to all of you. I'll assume that the previous pneumonia weakened the immune system, so defenses were down, allowing multiple infections. :(

My wife is supposed to transition from ICU to a regular room today. Subject to one becoming available. Due to my work schedule I won't have the chance to see her again until Saturday evening. I'm glad she's improved enough to get out of ICU.

Linda is still sedated but overall is improving. Timeline unknown for anything on my end.

Yes, pneumonia is dangerous. Caught it when I was 11 and spent two weeks in the hospital. When I was released the doc told me I'd be susceptible to cold and pneumonia etc. for the rest of my life. Unfortunately he was right :(

I used to get Bronchitis 2 or 3 times a year, had walking pneumonia once. This is Linda's second time with pneumonia too. I have problems with wheezing and shortness of breath now so I was put on an inhaler and go to see a specialist next month to see if I have Asthma or COPD now in my senior years. I haven't had Bronchitis or anything at all major now since 2007 when I retired on disability. Relatively physically healthy now except the breathing and the diabetes.

Update:  My wife is still in the hospital while they work to clear the infection in her lungs.

I'll keep my fingers crossed she gets well quickly.

Mine too, the tube is out of her throat and she is eating and speaking again. Just has to get her strength back. The only IV now is an antibiotic, the other four IV's are off of her now! Great news Nym! Hope she gets home to you soon, I know you miss her!

I used to get pneumonia every year as well, usually from overwork. I'm glad your wife is mending.

Please, all of us should keep in mind that the times are taxing for many of us still dealing with the effects of COVID, directly or indirectly. I'm grateful for the GM holding on to this game where others have given in and dropped theirs. Please, try to be positive and encouraging in your posts. I actually enjoyed the Night Shifts. It sucks if you have a family, I'm told, but since I'm single, I got a ton of stuff done during those hours.

I'm not a vampire so I hate nightshifts.  I don't mind working weekends as I have weekdays off to do things without using PTO for them.

Night shifts suck. Everything is closed where I live.

Night shift used to be more bearable years ago.  I'm in a college town and we had a half dozen grocery stores and a dozen convenience stores that were 24 hours.
Then Covid hit and all the groceries closed at 11pm akd most of the convenience stores closed early.   It's like going back to the early 90s

Night shift does suck if you have a family. I habitually stayed awake for days at a time with like 10 to 15 minute power naps here and there. 5 days awake was not uncommon for years. One time while working management I managed to stay awake for 14 days straight and I do not recommend this in anyway. You start seeing shit on day 14. And it was all to real to me at the time. My crew noticed I was acting strange so I'm told and called my boss and he came in and we talked and he sent me home and was like never do that again and he finished my shift for me. Not even sure how I got home driving apparently because my car was at the house when I woke up days later.

Yeah I was proud of my crew that day. Most of them loved my ass. They told my boss and I quote "He goes home showers, changes clothes, comes back in to cover shifts so we aren't short handed by a ton. And he works like an octopus while here. It is crazy." Boss took me in the office and sat me down and I almost fell asleep instantly.

I have a question. Would Nino have to make the Con saves since he's wearing a Ring of Sustenance? The Ring would never let him get dehydrated to the point a Con check would be needed, in my opinion.

The Con isn't just for dehydration. Exposure is still a thing hence the Endure Elements.

That's right. The ring will help with food/water, but exposure in the desert is just as bad

ok guys....my silence has been due to adding up XP from all encounters (Which has taken a while), and i greatly apologize as this should have happened earlier.

Everyone now has XP at 19000 which is enough to level to 6. As an apology, i will bonus this to level 7 so everyone now has XP at 21000 and may level to 7.

I will wait until after Christmas to push into the structure, giving you time to level up. Let me know when your sheet is updated so i can look over in, then we will move on

I might be a tad busy from now to after Christmas, buy I'll try and keep up.

Anyone here know Rob Rusk, aka Starmaster here on rpol? He ran 20 games here, Traveller, various D&D PF, 3.5 and BEMCI, Star Frontiers and Star Wars. He took over many games that the GM's abandoned so the games would continue for the players. On Thursday the 6th, at 10:30am, he passed away in his sleep due to complications from cancer and a few other things, He will be missed, I was in 6 of his games. He was 73 and began gaming with D&D in 1978.

Yes. You don't know how it's linked but when you removed the stone (or more when you touched it), sonori hunched over in pain and you heard the wail.

It is good roleplaying when players sometimes question each other's motives and motivations.  It is not good roleplaying when one idiot has to be 100% argumentative with other players and the GM in any game.

To summaries, there is a door on the right that has no visible way of opening other than a apple sized indent. There is a passage leading left (East) 40 meters then turns north where you are yet to go.

Or you can back track and take either east or west tunnels

This attack does an added 2d6 damage and automatically bypasses Damage Resistance
and Hardness.


So with my bare hands bypassing Hardness and Damage Redistance, the material of the door might as well be wet clay to me. My hands can sink in and I can tear away chunks of material until we have an opening large enough for us to pass through.

 Now we have a 10 foot corridor that is in front of us. At least 40 feet long yes? So I have a plan. Probably not the most effective plan but should buy us time.

 So I am going to throw Webs up to block the passage three deep after casting Sleet storm. And a Wall spell if I have one handy. Not the best defense but it will buy us time I hope.

Nope no wall spells but I do have obscuring mist which will make things more difficult for them. So that.

I think it's dead buddy. You see Mines of Nemrac has closed now, after 16 years or more! Jeff is hanging up his DM shield here.

It would seem that this game has some to a conclusion.

I appreciate all the players who have stuck by me through the years. I must admit that the last year has been particularly tough for me in terms of motivation for this game and for that i apologize to all. Part of the reason has been limited time, but another has been my waning love for teh 3.5 system, which has now been replaced with the 5e system.

I say this with all honesty - you have all been great players, and i have enjoyed every one of you. This game arc had many more facets that was planned (and some not).

I wish you all good luck for any games in the future, and should you wish to venture into the land of 5E i have two games that are going strong, as well as have sources to other 5e games.

This game will remain active for one month, and then i will delete it.

I agree with you, Quinn. I love 3.5 and will never give it up.

Rivka and Zell's relationship was a great party of the game.  I'm definitely agree.
I'm certainly going to keep playing 3.5, but I'm okay with continuing to learn 5th edition

5th edition is a dumbed down version of 3.5/3.75 in my opinion. You can easily adapt to the rules.

I'm sad to see this game end.  I understand the demands of real life.  My schedule has changed more times than I can count in the past 3+ years and put a bit of a strain on my life having to work from 2:30 to 11:00 PM now.  I have exactly one day every two weeks to spend with my better half unless I take time off.

I'm sorry to see this game go, although I did not see it during the height of activity. Of course, 5e is not that difficult to adjust to, however, I miss the many tweaks and adjustments you could make to a 3.5e character. From my point of view there is little flexibility in 5e in that regard. Anyway, I hope I can find another game to play Neliwen in, I did like the concept quite a lot.

Perhaps we run into each other at a different game :)

I'm going to put feelers out to all players. this game, as it has been soley from my nown mind has been difficult for me, as well as my preference for 3.5 waning.

....but, i am willing to to continue with this group if you are willing to have a change to a pre-made module/campaign. This will mean i will ahve more time to post as well as have teh setup of this game on hand. Then, if things in life settle, we can see if we can incorperate this old mission into this.

....But, this will mean a clean slate - starting from scratch.

Anyone willing to consider this, let me know

I'd be interested. I've lost a dozen games or more over the last few months. I could play PF if you wish to not run 3.5, but those are the 'newest' I play. I don't know 5th, don't want to. Too much $$$.

I'd be good to go with modules. I haven't really done any of the 3.5 modules (and only a few of the 2nd ed).

I don't have any materials beyond 3.5 - I like that version and then had kids and then had kids and lost the time to delve into new rules. I don't have strong feelings about others - just that I don't have time to learn them.

And, of course, I expect some house rules for anything on rpol, so I'm fine with that. :)
