Two Truths and a Lie

Since you guys are all 2nd level, the campaign is going to assume you all are an established adventuring party. To help create ties, we're going to play two truths and a lie. If you're not familiar, it's as the name implies. Each character will create two truths and one lie about another character. For simplicity's sake, do this for the person below you according to The Cast (obviously, Vargo will do this about Barry).

To help with things, I've decided to create a bit of backstory for you guys to expand upon.

Having decided to set off on a life of adventure, you eventually migrate to Daggerford. While Daggorford is not in and of itself a town of great renown, it's position along the Trade Way ensures its name is known. As such, it does have its fair share of troubles that it is more than willing to let budding adventurers handle.

One such trouble has recently popped up along the Trade Way outside the Misty Forest. Reports of goblin bandits and raiders have come in and the town's council has posted they are requesting help.

Having come upon the notice around the same time, the five of you band together to take care of the problem. After some fierce encounters and skilled tracking, you locate the goblin camp being led by a bugbear. You all dispatch the creatures and return with proof of your conquest. The council hails you all as heroes and thanks you for your service.

Everyone can also have an extra 50gp.

Do these need to be from our time together or are these rumors and stories we have heard about the other characters?

In reply to Valentino Lo'Stronzo (msg # 2):

Whatever works. Being tier 1 characters, you're not going to have much of any rumors floating around about yourselves. Still, doesn't mean you might not have heard some thing about someone else if you were from the same area.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie

I've not played this game before O I am going to assume we don't specify which of the statements is the lie.

Vargo:

1) Comes from a wealthy family who rose to prominence in Huzuz after striking a Chardalyn cache and Adamant deposits in their silver mine.

2) Killed a man for selling him a dyed and gingered horse.

3) Gets incredibly anxious around birds.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie

Kothar doesn't have any character description. That may make it easy for me but hard for him...

Re: Two Truths and a Lie

Findabair:

1. Is rumored to have gone into the priesthood to escape an arranged marriage with an old lord.

2. Is responsible for the loss of an important relic at her temple. Nobody in the temple knows that she is the one responsible.

3. Can't stand the sight of raw meat. Killing doesn't bother her, but the sight of a rare steak makes her nauseated.

For Vargo, my guess for the lie is #2 (he didn't kill the man, just roughed him up a bit).

Are we choosing the lie for ourselves, or for each other?

Re: Two Truths and a Lie

I’m updating my description currently ;-)

Valentino

1) The priestess of Sune he shared a brief fling with cursed her young lover after she was spurned. As a result he has an obvious mark (birthmark, sigil etc) somewhere on his body that cannot be washed away.

2) Valentino had a horrible experience with ale when he was young. The sense memory of this makes his stomach churn if forced to endure the drink (he’ll gladly drink wine or hard alcohol)

3) Lucretia, his first love wrote Valentino three letters expressing her love before her father, a duke of some reknown, sent her away to a finishing school. The young man still secretly carries these letters and re-reads them when he thinks no one is looking.

Ya know, I've never run it that way. It may be interesting to try.

Re: Two Truths and a Lie

Kothar:

1. Was nearly culled as a hatchling for being smaller and seemingly weaker than the average dragonborn lizardfolk hatchling.

2. Took to worship of nature to spite his grandfather, a Paladin of Tiamat.

3. Secretly longs to transform into a true dragon, so assuming wildshape always brings a pang of regret and longing.

Edit - fixed it. ;)
