Re: OOC

Posting pace seems to have slowed in recent days, so I'm interested in making sure we don't stagnate too much. If folks are busy with summer vaca that's cool, but if things seem slow plot-wise I'm cool with fast forwarding to level 3 and getting you all into the meat of this adventure ;).

We don't have to do a ton of RP on Harburk's walking you to the inn - if you like we can assume you tell him the overview and we can get on about leveling up.

Re: OOC

Either of those is fine, I mostly just haven't had time to post anything in depth lately. Prepping to head back to college and all. Le sigh. I'll try to get up a post tomorrow, though it will just be summarizing what we went through for the most part.

Re: OOC

To be honest, I was waiting for someone else to take the lead.  Dweeble isn't much of a talker when it comes to anything that matters so she doesn't have much to contribute at the moment here.

Re: OOC

To answer Morg's question from the adventure thread - yes, there should be just enough time for a long rest before noon. It's about 3:45am right now in game.

Re: OOC

I would like to have time to use the Pact Boon (Chain) I'm picking by the time we leave. Would it be possible for Mayon to sacrifice an hour (and ten minutes) of the long rest to ritual cast Find Familiar without taking a level of exhaustion? If not then I'll take that level anyway, I want to get my little fairy friend. :D

You can sacrifice an hour of the long rest, but then you won't be able to level up or take advantage of the long rest benefits. Or, you can always stay an hour after the long rest, but that's likely to be after noon... Or you can just cast the spell later tomorrow. =)

Re: OOC

Neither can I...I'm still debating between psuedodragon and sprite :P Both are good options, and I'm a huge fan of tiny dragon pet, but that invisibility option...hmm. I'm gonna have to figure out a name and personality too...I've been looking forward to this since I first read the Warlock class description :D

Re: OOC

Hmm, well, if you're looking for opinions I've always been partial to pseudodragons!  More so for the flavor of having a little beastie wrapping itself around your arm/shoulder and peering at what you're doing and such.  Plus if you get a shiny gold one it can be Dweeble's best friend too!

After some soul-searching, I think I'm actually going to end up going into Arcane Trickster.  (Even though I did tell the DM I wasn't going that route most likely.)  I think the Mage Hand antics are too fitting and I'm itching to see all the silly things she can do with her other handful of spells.  Now to figure out what exactly to grab for her 'spellbook'...

Anything else prior to long rest & level up? If not I can unlock character sheets and we can get you all to level 3.

Re: OOC

I don't really have any concerns about the present situation, DM.  My question is more for the group.

Are we planning to follow Mayon's suggestion and pass through the loot shac- I mean through the wealthy area in the Sumber Hills before making our way to Beliard?

Re: OOC

I went ahead and opened up everyone's character sheet to start the process of levelling up. Just let me know when you're done, and I'll also update the Google Sheets version with the changes.

Also, it's safe to assume the PCs know the general layout of the Dessarin Valley map. This is generally true of any map I post.

Re: OOC

Quick question for the DM: According to the PHB, I can swap out a Warlock spell when I level up for another spell that I have slot levels for. Does this mean I can swap out, say, a Level 1 spell for a Level 2 spell? I mean...technically I cast both at the same level, but I'd like to double check since I always assumed they had to be the same level.

I'll be doing the same for my Invocations as well, for that matter...gotta get my ultimate telepathy for my future pet! :P

Re: OOC

Arcana and History are pretty well-covered, right?

And is Dweeble out new official trapfinder/lockpicker? I had Jak as that originally as we didn't have one, but curious if I need to keep trying to specialize in it now?

Re: OOC

I do have her as expertise'd in thieves' tools.  So she's got a +9 (+11 next level) to at least popping open locks and such.  Her perception is much less amazing but it's there at least!  So it's up to you honestly.  While it may not be necessary for Jak to be as adept in such ways as Dweeble, it can also be flavorful and fun for him to be!

Re: OOC

Mayon's got Arcana and History due to his background, and a decent intellect to use them with, but his player has a notable habit of rolling poorly when it counts :P And nothing wrong with multiple sneaky lockpicking folk! Could result in some friendly competition between the two.

Generally no, but the new spell in the New Spells thread is from the EE guide and you can pick that one if you're the right class.

Re: OOC

Ooh, nice!  Now I don't have to debate between the two spells I want for this level :D I think I've used Witch Bolt like...once...and I'd rather concentrate on something that doesn't require a roll to use as well. So away it goes!

With that done I think I'm pretty set then. Got my spells and HP; haven't really gotten my gold perfectly up to date yet but I'm not sure how we calculated out the loot from the quarry just yet.
