Re: OOC

DM:
I think we may have lost Tessa - I think I'll have to obtain another replacement, maybe this weekend if I have time.
Looks like most of the non-dwarves are finding melee fighting too hard on the body ;(

Morg may have to try and recruit some of those knights to join him and Zora up front.

DM:
I think Morg should get the +1 dagger for the time being (and longer, if you want to keep it)
Morg will keep Reszur for now (but not throwing it, since he doesn't want to face Dwee's wrath should it get lost), but will pass it onto Zora if he starts to trust her and if she doesn't have darkvision (aasimar?).

Re: OOC

Should the remaining originals each keep 1 of the Mirabar trade bars? They may come in handy when looking for the delegation.

Re: OOC

Couple of ooc questions before I post.

First, I forgot to put two domain spells I get at level 3 on my sheet. Shatter and gust of wind. Could you add them? Can they be available this fight?

Second, assuming sister is available, how many birds can I catch with it assuming a sphere that misses my companions, especially morg! Those bird were no joke to him?

Whether the shatter thing works or not I'll be throwing 1d4+3 healing word at him with my bonus action and if shatter doesn't with swinging war hammer at one.

Re: OOC

"'Tis but a scratch. I've had worse. It's just a flesh wound." ;)

I'm also gonna hold off a while before I post, to see what the field looks like. So many cool options as a battle master (it's not meta gaming, it's a "precision attack"! :)).

Mayon, you can indeed also use Eldritch Blast this round.

Re: OOC

Zora Jilkina:
Guess I didn't need that spell after all. Going to update resources, do I lose the spell slot for that command?

Nope, you should have used just 1 level 1 slot so far.

Zora Jilkina:

Yup, good catch, I can add them. They're available during this fight.

Zora Jilkina:

They're small birds and pretty well engaged with Morg. It would be pretty much impossible to use Shatter and avoid hitting Morg and/or others engaged in melee with the birds.

Holy, Rezsur is a preeeety good weapon in Morg's hands!

Except for that last swing...

Re: OOC

I've made a correction to my post: I initially wrote that I only dropped 1 handaxe as my free action, but I meant to write both after I realized that 2nd wind would prevent dual wielding.

Zora Jilkina:
Holy, Rezsur is a preeeety good weapon in Morg's hands!

I think that +1 to attack will be more useful to Zora at the moment (until her strength catches up to Morg's), eventho we both prefer our more damaging warhammers.

Zora Jilkina:
Except for that last swing...
Which used my precious action surge no less, and can't even be fixed by a Precision attack maneuver.

Is morg 18 strength? Did you make level 4? Going to be quite a while before I catch that!

Morg's a bit stronger than the standard mountain dwarf (yeah). He's only very recently perfected his battle maneuvers tho (no, 3rd).

DM, can we ask each other IC about what the other PCs plan to do for level 4? E.g. [Private to GM: "Zora, do you plan to focus on religious studies, strength training, or a specialized achievement?" (Should I also make more rolls secret eventho in a face-to-face game they'd be open?)] (private to DM example question) to prevent overlap, or is that too meta-gamey. The battle master has quite a few meta-gaming options, especially when combining  level 7's Study your enemy's AC option with the Precision strike maneuver.

I think it's ok to ask other players about plans like that, though you should at least be able to justify choices in the context of your own character - not just that it gives you a powerful combo with a party member.

Of course, you're all now advancing in experience together as a group, so it seems natural for you all to individually advance in ways that are complementary to each other and to the team as a whole.

Zora, just noticed - you get to add +5 to your warhammer attacks to hit rolls. Not that it matters on a crit ;)

If I don't get a feat (war caster seems almost necessary) I'll probably boost wisdom. Strong is good, but can't ignore the main job!

Honestly, same. Mayon loses concentration constantly, so War Caster is definitely tempting, but I'd also love to boost my spellcasting mod up to a +4 instead of a +3...ah well. I'll play it by ear I guess. :P

Same here, honestly. Mostly just wanted to say that Mayon's awake and now has an invisible emotion-sensing scout on his shoulder :P He doesn't have much to add to the current conversation.

...I need to name his familiar come to think of it.
