Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

The air remains moist overnight while the sound of workers to the north continues periodically. Sometime during the night the plodding footsteps of a large creature are heard passing to the south, originating from the trolls' chamber.

The only indication that morning has arrived is a increase in the pace of work in the room to the north, as more voices can be heard as some sort of cargo is being loaded or unloaded.

Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Landrin stretches and checks his gear for the tenth time making sure it is secured properly. When you’re trying to keep quiet in a dungeon of possible hostiles, there’s not much you can really do that isn’t quiet. He looks at the group and loads his hand crossbows with a nod. “Ready.”

Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

"Did anyone else have nightmares and dreams?" Morg says, putting on a red tabard.

Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Seeing the others starting to wake and prepare to move, Kaabo closed his spellbook and tucked it away with the rest of his things. As he got to his feet, he pulled a strip of leather from his pouch and focused on it as he waved his hand up his torso a down along his arms and legs, causing a blue-white glow to appear momentarily over each section, before fading away. With the protective ward in place, he was ready to begin.

cast Mage Armor

Kept my prepared spell list the same.

Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Landor nodded to the dwarf’s question. “Yes. It ended with the man with barnacles on his face that Luna described.”

Re: Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

"The hag also gave me dreams of Shatterkeel, and then some other dreams and nightmares." Morg says. "She could also read my thoughts, so if we come back - someone else should do the talking."

"Anyone have any ideas on how to confront a cultist druid? What I learned from my firbolg druid friend, is that it's no use tying them up or trying to jail them, or even trying to run away if they choose to pursue. So if Shatterkeel's hostile, it's him or us..."

"Can anyone scout ahead?"

Landrin raised his crossbow. “I can. If there is any darkness ahead, then I should be able to scout it out fairly well. I will rush back if found and pursued.”

Re: Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Makari looked...uncomfortable once he had awakened. A light frown was on his face, a furrow touched his brow. He nodded slowly to Morg. "I had...disturbing dreams, yes." He nodded again, "And yes, there was someone with...barnacles on their face. And it was out of place for the dream."

He sighed and stood, cleaning himself up a bit and gathering his things. But then he looked at Gorm when the question about druids was asked.

Re: Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

"I don't know a lot about how druids do what they do. If their ability to change their shapes into animals is anything like polymorph, then dealing enough damage to kill the form that they take will cause them to return to their true form. I don't know how similar it is, but yeah, that would negate any form of imprisonment or restraints you try to apply to them. Magic is fantastic, like that."

Re: Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Activity to the north picks up as the group organizes after the night's rest.

Landrin gets ready and opens the door. A quick peek to make sure nobody is around and starts working the corridors making his way as north as possible.

Re: Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Despite being a clearly atypical bear Gorm doesn't seem interested in engaging in the debate, she simply waits until the others have made their preparations to leave in whatever direction they seem inclined to do so, then follows the core group out so as not to disrupt any scouting efforts.

Morg tries to stay out of sight of the creatures to the north, hiding behind the corner - ready to rush in if Landrin calls out or attack if hostiles rush south.

Re: Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Makari was more than happy to let others take the lead that were more prepared for melee engagement. Not that he was a coward, it just wasn't his primary focus. He was better back further usually. So he began to follow the others quietly.

Sounds of activity continue to the north, though no one is visible from the fountain courtyard.

Map updated!

Ya'll headed north directly, or are you taking a different route? Also, anyone wearing the tabards given you by Thuluna?

Re: Day 11 - In the Temple of the Crushing Wave

Makari stayed near the back of the group - and would be happy to look as if he was herding prisoners or initiates if need be. He was indeed wearing the tabard and hoped it wasn't a huge mistake that would get him killed.

He let Morg lead them on north.
