The Aedenic Pantheon consists of those gods KA has allowed to establish a presence.  They are expected to follow the spirit of all of his decrees and he rebukes them mercilessly (up to and including banishment from his domain) when they refuse.  Since this world is meant to preserve cultures (and their gods) banishment can be a death sentence in itself.  The gods allowed to maintain a presence here are under no illusion that KA can (and will, if pressed hard enough) slay them without remorse.


At the apex of the Pantheon is the Highgod KA the Preserver.  He is depicted as a draconic deity with a silver-gold underbelly, slate grey scales and jet black wings.  His eyes burn with an indigo fire and it is said that his breath can slay or revive any being he wishes, regardless of power or length of death.  It is certain that the combined might of all the gods could not hope to defeat him.


Beneath him are his stewards Chronepsis, Paladine and Takhisis.  These deities are regarded as the leaders of the Neutral, Good and Evil gods, respectively and command all dragonkind on Aeden (dragons are believed to be the instrument of their will on Aeden).  They are all Greater Gods.  Just beneath these three deities are 9 other Greater Gods.  Though of relatively equal power with the draconic deities, they serve under them by KA's command.  These deities are briefly described in the following chart:

KA THE PRESERVER

Chief among the Highgods of Aeden, Ka was the original deity who conceived the plan.  He sought out and recruited several like-minded beings and created the World of Aeden with them.  For millions of years they have saved cultures from annihilation and preserved them.  He is first among equals in this endeavor as his wisdom and knowledge is immense even by their standards.  He is so ancient that even the other Highgods know only a fraction of his history.

Ka does not answer prayers (at least not openly) though he is known throughout the Known World.  He does, however, have worshipers.  To the mortals of the world, Ka exists only to preserve the Balance and keep the gods from destroying the world in their machinations.  It is also believed that he mitigates the power of magic for the same purpose.  He is also responsible for the abundance of life, both benevolent and malevolent, in the world and to share knowledge among all beings if they earn it.
