I'm getting confused as to which is the first generation and which the second here.
Time is a dodecahedron rather than an arrow?

After reading that list of races, I'm getting Synnibarr vibes. Farmer? Soldier? High Priest? Those sound like professions, not races, to my ear.

I'm not committed to the names. I've switched Farmer over to simply Mankind or Man in most of my documents. I must've missed a spot. Soldier also, I couldn't think of a fantasy race that fit that description. The names also fit what their oldest ancestors did for a living in the case of Priest, High Priest, Soldier and Farmer.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 220):

I know how that is, missing things when changing terminology :> I see another search/replace spot missed with "gnomic" as opposed to "Ngomes" which was used elsewhere - by the way, the term "gnome" goes back to the Middle Ages and isn't copyrightable or anyone's trademark that I know of. They were elementals, alongside the undines, salamanders, and sylphs.

Now, Gearfs, Narfs, and Dragons fall into what or where in this family tree of races?

Gearfs and Narfs are dwarfs with a time-period of divergent evolution on the planet Djunk. Like Chinese vs Native American. Not that different, but a little different.

Dragons are a totally different species which have the ability to self-manipulate their DNA. Their DNA works it's way into the human species through various corridors by this point in history, but they started from a completely different heritage.

I wonder... If he turned into such a book, wouldn't it be horrible if those discredited diseases suddenly became too real?

EDIT:

Well, not quite. Remember the mysterious follower the three had when going through Stellaland? That was Agarator hiding in a golem.

Considering that they are imaginary to begin with, it would be completely in character for his powers to do just that. And there are some doozies in that book.

Re: OOC

If you decide to go that way, give me an option of at least 2 diseases and I'll roll the dice to see which one 'accidentally' becomes real - unless Horror decides for himself which one to make happen.

One of the concepts I utilize in this game is that of the hive-person - a person whose body is made up of many different smaller bodies. So every disease has a spirit-person associated with it, and as that person changes over time (even becoming 3 people if 2 significantly different strains develop [the original disease who incorporates all descendants, and the 2 strain-persons which make up its hive-person]) the spirit-person changes too. Therefore, Horror could become a disease for a time, and if he re-condensed into a single body either he'd have control over the evolution of that disease and how it affected people, or they'd all be suddenly cured. The result would depend on a roll of the dice and his intentions. If he wanted it to happen, it would be more likely, and if he didn't care or decide, it would be 50-50.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 231):

Reminds me a bit of one of the demons in Exalted... she's a sentient, contagious emotion that can be summoned, bargained with, bound to service, etc., but requires someone feeling her in order to be present even in spirit.

Although the term "demon" as used in that game would not be appropriate in the Oners, since Exalted's demons aren't fallen angels or anything close to them.

Re: OOC

Actually demons in this world aren't all fallen angels. Fallen angels are often called demons, but true demons are just unclean spirits. There are different kinds of unclean spirits, and the most common is probably dead people. Ghosts who do more harm than good are demons. Ghosts that consume others or try to kill the living become Shadowmen. People who are addicted to something, become the hive-body of the things they were addicted to in life. There are certain demons (who were never humans) who would manifest in exactly the way you described, needing someone to feel them in order to be present. One of the spirits that doesn't need others to feel it is actually an extinct virus that wiped out the first form of sentient life - a super-complex multi-species ecosystemic organism which had spread throughout the ocean and surface of the planet, and gained sentience as a unit. That life-form became the spirit of Pskaena. The virus that killed it had gained sentience as a by-product of the first sentient being and saw that it could replicate more quickly if it attacked its host instead of working with its host to transmit DNA from one organism to another. It began as one of the vehicles of communication, and it became the spirit of sickness and disease. By killing its host, it died. It's host was resurrected through its survivors and became an even more complex and robust organism, now partially spiritual in nature. One of its children created an auto-looping sequence of emotions in its host's mind which evolved into the entities that need to be felt in order to be present.

Re: OOC

Ah, I see a bit better now.

The demons in Exalted were/are the component souls of the Yozis (imprisoned titans) and the offspring of the souls. Thus, you get a soul hierarchy within each Yozi, each soul having their own body, name, personality and powers while also being part of the greater soul above them. The lowest level ("First Circle Demons") are spiritually independent beings capable of reproducing their own kind (often in extremely bizarre ways).

The emotion demon I'd mentioned is a Second Circle Demon, the lowest level in the actual hierarchies, and the level that spawns new First Circle races. I'd have to look up just who is directly above her (Third Circle) and which Yozi they are part of.

The gods in the setting were originally creations of the titans, and used mankind to overthrow their creators, casting the surviving/surrendering titans down to become the Yozis or demon princes. The titans who actually died in that war... became something far worse as well as spawning the art of necromancy.

The kids have given him a few things that are sentimental to him that could be given as gifts. ^.^

Figure Bozon is kind enough to forgive an evil person for evil actions knowing evil done on them brought them to this path and maybe some good on them could start leading them away from it..... or least brake some necro's control.... still be evil guy but maybe a little less? *shrugs*
