09. Shadowjak
Vetri was behind the bar, cleaning glasses and probably contemplating the contents of his next concoction of consumable toxin. Seeing Shadowjak, however, brought him out of his imaginings and into the present moment.
"What'll it be, friend?"
After hearing his reply and the request for information on where to find the Black Rose, Vitri's face grew stiff for a moment. "Well! That's no small cake. The Black Rose is a powerful item. I'm not really sure what it does, but I know it's powerful and I know it's highly valued.
"Word is, the Summer knight is on assignment in Nexus or elsewhere, so that's fortunate for you. The Black Rose is in a pocket Oner with a single permanent Portal access point in the Sunsphere. As you know, the Sunsphere is their floating fortress that rolls around on the Blue Dome of Summer Days."
This Oner was generated from the imagination of peoples who lived before the nature of the universe was known. The world really is flat and it really does have a Blue Dome of Summer Days which is a gigantic translucent sapphire dome with gates made of pearls along the ground where it touches the ground at the border of Summer's Daytime territory. Winter has an equally sized Black Dome of Winter Nights which is made of Onyx with vibrant Stargems embedded in it and has Ivory gates. We'll leave Summer Nights and Winter Days to another time. The Sunsphere has a radius of 1500', it is constantly moving in a seemingly random (but not actually random) pattern around the Dome. It rolls around using an omnidirectional wheel system that leaves the insides level to the ground below at all times.
"You know that the Sunsphere is heavily guarded at its entry points. And there are various security features within. This is a task that will be beyond you working alone. You'll need a plan to get in, and a plan to get out. You'll also need to put a team together."
OOC: Fortunately, the Sunsphere is currently only a concept, and I'm leaving it mostly open to debate and imagination so that you can use your imagination to come up with what kind of NPCs you'll need for the job, and how many. Realistically, whatever skills you look for, will be needed, and whatever skills you don't look for won't be ultimately necessary to get the job done. It will be challenging, and at least one NPC will probably die, but there are too many other things for Shadowjak to do for him to die in this job.
