Re: OOC: Table Talk ONE

This is a longshot but if Rath suddenly thinks he is confronted by an old foe it might work around his hypnotism. At least that's Saliq's hope!

Re: OOC: Table Talk ONE

Saliq's spell is only 2 segments, so I'll rule that Rath can make his action this round at the same time as the monsters attack, so go ahead and post and I'll time it to happen at the same time as the monsters.

Thanks!

I knew that was a long shot but I figured if the hypnotism was visually based (as against a hypnotic voice say), it might help. :)

Genius! Never considered blocking visual hypnosis with a visual illusion that the hypno-action wasn't there. Saliq never fails to amaze...

Re: OOC: Table Talk ONE

Thanks. :)

GM Bard I might need a ruling here that Saliq is close enough to touch Rath and whether he would count as a 'willing' recepient of Saliq's magic (is Saliq asking Rath to trust him enough)?

Re: OOC: Table Talk ONE

Yes, Saliq can get to Rath since he's still invisible himself, he can move pretty much in a straight line.

And yes, that was a great use for a spell to do something it wasn't meant to do necessarily, I usually applaud those but it resulted in my really creepy block monster getting beat to smithereens.  So I'll think fondly of it later on :-).     I think Rath would trust Saliq with his life, however, he may not understand the difference between the different types of invisibility unless Saliq explains.   Of course, the more he talks, the more a troll might figure out where he is standing.

Hah true. I also we suspect we have not seen the last of the block monster or its creator. :)

Okay this goes back to the first game but Saliq has used Shadow Monsters to recreate one of the (fire breathing!) Fell Hounds the party met in the 'Expedition to Demonstone' (see msg #17 of that thread.)

Re: OOC: Table Talk ONE

Saliq, that Hellhound is fine but it made Saliq act twice in Round 5, so I deleted it, figured you'd do the same thing but wanted to give you a chance to see the monsters actions and can decide if you still want to that.

Sorry, lost track of our rounds there. *embarrassed*

Saliq will do the same action but send the hound to attack the troll attacking Ben instead of the troll fighting Inas.

Re: OOC: Table Talk ONE

No worries, please repost the actions.

BTW, the spell description on that spell leaves a lot to the imagination.   Just for us both, I will treat these creatures like those for the "monster summoning" MU spells.  You don't control them per se, they come into existence where you say, and they attack your opponents, but aren't controlled by you, they act in your best interest till they are destroyed but aren't an illusion you must concentrate on.

If they are meant to attack, creatures of war, it is an act of attack, and breaks invisibility.  If you summoned a hamster, it would not :-)

I was rolling pretty well on attack rolls. This could have gone very badly.

Re: OOC: Table Talk ONE

Trolls can put out a LOT of damage per round, and if you can't match it, once they start to regenerate, it can go south in a hurry.   Having a ranger along is a big help, but both fighters hit well and often, enough to make the regeneration a non-factor.  Saliq's use of an illusion to ruin a hypnotism, and Ben distracting a troll at an almost perfect time, it made for an interesting battle.  It was well done and smartly played by all.

While I think it is probably important, I didn't mention Inas's reaction to the gas(?) in the garden because he's propbably the only one who's noticed yet. :)

Actually . . . Inas knows only what is in the public thread.  No special/extra insights here.
