Re: Witch Battle

It takes a swing in real action to get used to using a mace, but Inas manages to dish out some damage (and, maybe, distract the creature from Rath).

08:31, Today: Inas Eoinsson rolled 14,6 using d20-1,d6+3.  Round 1B (6 to hit).

Saliq frowned and a second polished ceramic fang dropped from the dragons has tumbled through the air and shattered on the ground below.

Re: Witch Battle

Saliq continues his illusionary assault on the creature, but it either doesn't notice or is too stupid to care.   Marissa misses with her magic hammer.  El Kabah, Rath and Inas all land decent blows to the dragon.

The Golem snaps twice, missing Inas once but biting him the second time (14hps).

Re: Witch Battle

Saliq ground his teeth in frustration, but hung back waiting for the appropriate moment to cast a spell. If the golem was too dim to even percieve his illusions then Saliq might be in trouble!

Re: Witch Battle

As Marissa's magically create hammer slams into the clay dragon, the magic that created and held it together gives way and the creature splinters, cracks, and crumbles into a pile of dirt, its last remaining tooth finally falls off and shatters on the floor.

Rath didn't hesitate. He grabbed a mail shirt, squeezed into it, and a shield. Then he set about a series of prayers to close some wounds. "Let's get the hell out of here."

OOC: I have 4 1st level spells slots left. 3 cure light wounds for Rath and one for Inas. Inas heals 4 hp, Rath 6 hp. Not feeling especially blessed this morning!

Re: Witch Battle

Rath quickly leads the group out into the daylight.  You emerge within a field of quite large boulders that all but hides the entrance.  The boulders themselves are clumped together measuring about 100 yards across total.  Climbing to the top of nearest large boulder, you get a sense of the island, you are nearly in the center with bodies of water to the north and a small one to the east, there are six tall mountain ranges at the far edges of the island in all directions.  And on these, even from this distance, you can see great forms moving about, dragons, dragons, and more dragons.  Each range has its own color, the largest ranges due north and southeast each has two.  Silver, Gold, and Copper in the northern reaches, Black, Red, Blue and White to the southern.  There are smoldering corpses of several dragons lying in the fields beyond the boulders, clearly a battle has taken place recently.  For now, there are no dragons flying around.

"Can't we all just get along?" Marissa mutters. Then she asks Astral, "Should we be presenting you to the various flights of dragons, as would a human dignitary be presented at court? I'm at a loss here."

"Allies to the north," Rath grunted. "I think."

He was ready to follow Astral's lead, but, if the dragonling dithered, Rath would more firmly suggest north.

Re: Witch Battle

Inas spends a bit of time just beyond the edge of the boulders, searching for a path North, he is confident he can lead the group that way, however, he does find a recent trail.  Someone who came from the west, a single human.

Meanwhile, Astral, after being very still with her eyes shut, adds,  "I'm not sure they know ally from enemy. They were all under the witches sway until you killed her.  Probably enchanted since they were young.  A few of the older ones may have remembered the old grudges and fought each other, but the rest.  I just sense confusion, at being free".

Saliq looks intrigued by the mention of a trail. 'It was probably left by that dragon slayer. Maybe she left a boat hidden somewhere back the way she came?'

Re: Witch Battle

"West, then. Along the trail. Find the boat. Get back to Stormhaven." He waited for Saliq to put up the invisibility to cloak them and then did his best to follow behind Inas, keeping near Saliq. He was vaguely interested in what would happen when the djinni's hour was up and the conjured armor expired.
