Dark Side of the Moon - Day 10-3

You remember searching the garage area earlier and finding something unusual.

Quote from message 154 of Day 10-2:
You really don't find anything helpful in the garage.  It's just a lot of parts and tools.

But then you search the inspection pit and find something unusual.  There is a concealed doorway down there.  It appears to be alarmed.

(Requires a tech to unlock a level 2 alarm.)

You begin collecting information and documents, and copying files.  It is while you are doing this that Dever's radio goes off.  "We found something, boss.  There's been an explosion at the entryway, and Beedo is dead.  Boss?  You there?  We're coming up."

You gather the last of your things and leave before more of the mercenaries arrive.  Rezz takes you where she thinks the armory is, which is on the same floor (floor 1) and down the hall.  You hit the jackpot!

You are in a room full of weapons and items of war, almost as if stashed here for a military operation.  You have your pick from the following:

400 powerclips
51 power beltpacks
22 laser rifles
37 power backpacks
37 laser pistols
17 gyrojet rifles
28 automatic rifles
46 automatic pistols
3 machine guns
1 recoilless rifle
1 rocket launcher
3 swivel mounts*

Ammunition:
342 bulletclips for the automatic rifles
475 bulletclips for the automatic pistols
207 jetclips for gyrojet rifles
50 machine gun belts
25 recoilless rifle shells
23 rockets

Grenades:
20 doze
40 fragmentation
20 incendiary
25 smoke
30 tangler

Defenses:
120 skeinsuits (100 military, 20 civilian)
28 albedo suits
30 inertia screens
25 albedo screens
10 gauss screens
3 sonic screens

Miscellaneous:
500 grams of Tornadium D-19
50 variable timer/detonators
70 vials of solvaway
200 allweather blankets
50 infra-red goggles
10 infra-red jammers
50 breathing apparatus
20 magnigoggles
12 radiophones
10 toxy-rad guages
100 holoflares

There are also 10 military sized backpacks and "kits" for storing weapons and ammo.

As you peruse and drool over the weaponry, you hear boots as a number of soldiers exit the elevator and run to Dever's office.  But you are around the corner, so they don't see you.

However, if they need weapons, you are pretty sure you know where they will come to get them.

Porter nods approvingly at the sight of the weapons cache. "My old quartermaster would love this."

Hearing the warning sounds of guards approaching, he nods at Orvo and also takes up a machine gun, expertly loading a belt in the feed. Then he grabs a pair of frag grenades and powers up his defensive screen.

Hammer also reviews the scene.

"I will take some explosives as well."

He takes a pack to sling over his back and fills it with the TD19 with some timers, a rocket launcher, an automatic pistol for every member in the group, all the extra grenades not being held by anyone else, and as much ammo as he can fit around the cracks.

For himself, he takes an auto pistol, a recoilless rifle, a military skeinsuit and an albedo screen, a power beltpack, a power backpack, 2 of each type of grenade, and magnigoggles.

He puts any of the miscellaneous equipment into a second satchel for someone else to carry.

"This oughta do me," he says in a wickedly creepy robot voice.

"As would mine Sarge.  I'm kind of loving it myself right now.  Take whatever we can use with proficiency and as much as we can carry.  I have some limited experience with explosives do, I'll just take a couple of kilos, just in case."

Deisraye puts down the Gausss rifle that she had recently recovered and goes back to her bread and butter, the laser rifle.  She loads up a bunch of power clips and shrugs on a power backpack and charges up the rifle setting the SEU output to ten [10] as they get ready to greet the responding security forces.  If she can find some hard cover, that would be preferred.

"Tanglers and Doze grenades first!  Anyone still resisting, give 'em the business end of your weapons!"

OOC: She didn't note any other mags for the gauss rifle or any other special weapons in the cache?  Not that this isn't pay dirt for the team...

Re: Dark Side of the Moon - Day 10-3

Noting the others gearing up gets Orvo out of his reverie. He sets up the machine gun he was fondling on a table in the back of the room facing the door so that any who come through the door will have to do so through a hail of bullets.

He already has a laser rifle and a pair of laser pistols. He chose a power backpack for his rifle, enough power beltpacks to power his pistols and albedo screen with a few spares, and several powerclips. Orvo attaches as many grenades as he can to the military skeinsuit.  He also takes some solvaway, a toxyrad gauge, infra-red goggles and infra-red jammers.

In the end, he is loaded down, but he feels like a bad ass from the vids. He goes back to the machine gun and in a low voice says, "Let's rock."

Re: Dark Side of the Moon - Day 10-3

When the security forces arrive, it isn't much of a battle.  You mow them down easily, having already taken out their leaders and much of their crew.  They had been running to the main office, but the arms room faces the main office.  Firing at them from behind, they barely stood a chance.

Six armed security guards go down.  You are not sure if there are more around, but this is all that answered the alarms.  The security guard commandos all have tattoos of the KLC on their arms.

After packing up the gear you want, you go back down to the garage and the secret tunnel.

The tunnel is long, taking you 175 meters to a door that is propped half open.  From the other side, you hear a woman humming softly.  You peak inside to find another garage.  This one has two unarmed explorers.  There is a human woman laying under the explorer fixing something from below with an open techkit on the floor and spare parts on a workbench.  She hums softly while she works and does not see you since she is laying on her back half under the explorer.

The garage itself is 12 meters x 18 meters.  Directly across from the door where you now stand are giant security doors 6 meters wide.  They are locked shut with what appears to be voice recognition locks.

Instead of obeying, the woman pulls hard, and her entire body rolls under and to the other side of the vehicle.  She is on some sort of rolling body cart.  "You won't take me alive," she says as she disappears.

"Listen sweetie.  SWe don't want to kill you, OK?  Just come out and you will be treated fairly.  If not, we're going to splatter your frackin' brains all over this shop.  You've got three seconds to decide," Desiraye calls out in the garage.

"Cover all of the exits and if yo've got something to stun her use it.  She fires on us, drop her, quick!  If she surrenders, take her alive and secure her with the others."

You round the explorer and find...she has disappeared.  She is nowhere in sight.  The doze grenade goes off, and given that Hammer is immune, it doesn't affect him.

"Maybe a holo-feedback belt? Hammer, check the floor to see if she's sleeping there invisibly. I'll cover this entrance. Orvo, keep an eye on that security door. Everyone else, watch out in case she's about to attack."

Porter moves back to the door the party entered from, blocking it and covering it with his machine gun. He scans the room, looking for possible distortion signs that a holo-feedback belt produces.

Re: Dark Side of the Moon - Day 10-3

You see nothing on the ground, but there is a slight shimmering on the eastern wall where the security door is at.  As you turn your head, something about the security door seems to turn in a non-three dimensional way, as if a hologram.

Then you hear a click from somewhere on the far side of the security door.

Re: Dark Side of the Moon - Day 10-3

Figuring his Dralasite companion won't make it on time due to their relatively slower speed, Porter abandons his plan to cover the entrance and dashes to the security door. He's fully prepared to slam himself into the door if there is not actually a hologram-cloaked mechanic there.

Hopefully, there is one!

OOC: Would this count as a martial arts attack? I'm thinking along the lines of a football body check maneuver to slam the mechanic against the door and stop her from opening it and escaping. I'll leave the mechanics in your capable hands, GM Heath.

Running over there, you find that the security door itself was the illusion.  Min stumbles through the hologram door into a small niche about 6 feet by 6 feet.

There, he finds another security door shutting in front of his eyes.  The mechanic has just gone through.  As the door shuts, he notices it is a level 6 voice recognition lock.
