Samuel can be pretty much anywhere you want him to be. He has taken missions from the North fighting bugs all the way down to the Pecos Empire and across to the Easter edges of the Federation of Magic.

My character could literally know just about anybody who has spent time in North America. He could have just happened to be Operating (haha) in a town she passed through or she needed her mount serviced or whatever.

The Elvish Slinger brother seem more mercenary than the rest and we could all know each other by reputation. That or they just needed some eclips recharged and Samuel does them for about 15% less than most places.

She has mostly operated in the Southwest/New Mexico area, vampire hunting. That might help.

Samuel, I like that idea. I've done a lot of shooting, so I've needed a lot of recharges on my e-clips. Seems reputation/business relationship works nicely for us. You would have heard stories about me, tentatively "The Fire Elf", unless I think of something cooler for a nickname. Plus it plays off of Nyx's ideas a bit.

I think we can do better than "the fire elf". That makes you sound like a hot headed Kebler elf. ^_^

Hmm, what could it be...The Quicksilver Elf. That implies speed which is what gunslingers are really feared for.

Another possibility is The Elvish Bandito. That works great for the South West.

Lightning Draw is another good one for any gunslinger but it doesn't include the word Elf.

There are some great name generators on the web. Play with one and see what it comes up with.

Doc Hammerfall  adds Polkitain.

He then scampers over to the operator watching what he is working on.

Samuel looks over his shoulder only to get a whiff of the dragons breath, "You soooooo need a half ton of mints. I am working on a wrist mounted laser system for you...so you can reach out and burn someone."

"Wow like one of those fire breathing dragons !"

"Uhmn mint ?" Looks around, "Where do I find one of those ?"

"Lasers are not fire, per say, they just pump an awful lot of energy into a really small area, which causes things to melt rapidly or start burning. As for the mints, well that is for bad breath.....and you will have to go into town and get some from a pharmacy or something. Heck, I might just start growing some in the observation deck."

"Melt and burn but not fire ?" Tilts head confused.

"Hmmm my breath." Turns head and breathes out poison gas.
"It seems to be working, will these mints make it better ?"

"For non-killing, yes. Of course your breath weapon works just fine. I just want to give you extra options in combat."

"People get scared of me when I go to town, what could I give these pharmacy mages for these mints ?"

"Ah hell Running Bones, I will get some for you next time we are in a real town. Just, don't stick your face next to mine....it distracts me."

Polkitain pouts some but nods and backs up five feet still watching.

Polkitain is very curious and what an Operator does seems like magic to him. So yeah I think that works for me.

Hrmmmm, a back mounted direct fire missile launcher is starting to sound interesting....
