Re: Discussion Zone

It was probably me, but I posted yesterday.  Narrator hasn't been online for a couple days, so we're probably just waiting on the update.

Apologies.  Just heading into the pretty big crunch coming up in medical school and lost track of time here.  Trying to see if I can just queue up some actions to be used while I'm gone in case it happens again in a couple weeks.

Re: Discussion Zone

*nods* This being my play through, I don't know if this game suffers the normal attrition of other games, but someone dropping was my first thought.

Re: Discussion Zone

It seems that everyone has now posted (as of yesterday.)  I was indisposed yesterday - trying to finalize the move (which should be done by Sunday! horaay!) while still working.  The downside to international deals is the time-zone complications - one's "8:30" is not another's.

Re: Discussion Zone

In reply to Jakob Algrove (msg # 112):

We lost two players before the first Council, so there's some attrition, yes.
There was in the previous rounds too.

But I suspect 'Narrator' got some sort of response from Singh during the delay, so they knew it wasn't just someone dropping out.

Narrator and I have stayed in contact for about four years now. I wouldn't just up and bail on him. xD

In reply to Lieutenant Colonel Rajesh Singh (msg # 116):

Much obliged =)

Wait, has it really been FOUR years?  Sheesh.

The hardest part this round has been balancing life, sadly.  I think everyone, in general, is a bit busier than last year.  Myself included.  A year-and-a-half ago, I had a work-from-home job.  It was pretty sweet, but, mind-numbingly simple.  I was able to finish three degrees at the same time.

Now, back in the real working world - I spend WAY too much time commuting each day.  Thankfully, that ends after this weekend. (well, save for a few trips to do some spot cleaning of the current place.)

And.. goodness.. is RPOL loading slow for anyone else?

Re: Discussion Zone

Sorry folks - between the freezing on RPOL (which happened during a rare window) and this move - I'm going to be the delay this time.  I hope to find time Sunday, but, tomorrow (Saturday) is just not happening.

Re: Discussion Zone

Hello? I think this is the longest hiatus the game's had, not including between-round waits, since I started playing.

Re: Discussion Zone

Hello folks.
I'm really sorry for all the delays, and this sucks.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the energy to hardly even look at my personal computer anymore; let alone actually enjoy it.

So, I apologies for this - but, I am going to be closing this game and the EQ game (the two games that I actually run.)  I thank you all for the fun, those who joined this round; and those who have been around for the last 1-4 years!  But, I've got to take a halt.

Please be safe everyone, and I hope to play games with you all again here on RPOL sometime.

Re: Discussion Zone

In reply to Narrator (msg # 124):

Aww...
You've been the most stable GM I've seen on this site, supposedly getting through 4 games! Most can't handle 1 full one!
It'll be really sad to see this thing go :\
I really hope you get back to it at some point; It's a very interesting game, but not really suited for public release yet (given all the GM-made decisions that still need to be made while running)
I'd love to see it finished.

Re: Discussion Zone

That's really sad to hear.  I have to echo Ruree in saying that you're probably one of the most stable GMs I've seen on this site which is why I stuck around with you for so many years helping out!  I'm sad to see you go.  Hopefully, we'll still be able to work together!

Re: Discussion Zone

Hey guys - sorry if the red pings bothered anyone - I have invited a super awesome developer to come view the old game and this game and take a look at the example plays, the rules, and so forth; as we're currently working on turning it into software!

We're working on a "Narrator's Toolkit" and later -> a version where narrators can readily run the game for others in a working hosted environment.

I've databased almost everything, now I'm using this as an opportunity to learn some basic coding concepts.

How is everyone?

Re: Discussion Zone

Doing great.

Opportunity interview tomorrow to move closer to my wife's family. The guy will practically have to offer me the job on the spot though because he is going on vacation 2 days later and I wont be able to take the job when he gets back....and make sure that my current contract is in good order.

Anyways, always glad to see cool games like this get turned into something even more cool!

Re: Discussion Zone

That's pretty kickass to hear!

and thank you - I am so excited to be working on this.  I have been for a while now, and that is one of the main reasons I couldn't continue to run the game- I need some automation, especially to the combat.  The rest isn't so bad - but, the combat is a nightmare.

Re: Discussion Zone

I'd love to be an alpha tester for their game, if they pick it up. Other than that, it's been a crappy month for me honestly. I had strep throat, and right as I was getting over that I got some weird stomach/sinus bug, and then I started getting over that and got food poisoning yesterday. It's been a wild ride.
