Hangar C/ The Dust Moth
OOC: You may post here after leaving the briefing room

Hangar C is a small hangar, currently featuring 3 X-Wing fighters, 1 B-Wing, and an old HWK-1000 frigate known as the Dust Moth.

The freighter before you seems second hand at best.  The paint job looked to have once been a dark turquoise with white and bronze-gold trim, but those days have long passed.  Save for a few patches, the entirety of the freighter was sandblasted to a bronze-silver.  The entirety of the ship seemed to have the aesthetic of a rusted spoon, and not in a good way

There are many mechanics and engineers running around and dealing with the various vessels, but other than that, the hangar is devoid of people.

Aayla returned to her berth to gather her things, meager though they were before heading to the supply officer to stock up for the mission, explosives, a hideable weapon, and a not so hideable weapon, and some petty credits for miscellaneous expenses. She then made her way to the hangar to find the Dust Moth. When she looked at it she whistled, "that is one amazing hunk of junk... and it flies?" She was more talking to herself than anyone in particular, but it was definitely an out loud comment anyone could hear.

<< from Aboard the Verdant <<

"Speaking purely in terms of propulsion, flight is not an issue.  It is landing you should be more concerned about.  This ship is almost as old as I am and likely not in as good of condition." it made sense that a strike team would want to run under the radar when it came to noteworthy ships, but did that really mean they needed to scoot around in an old clunker?

Despite vocal concerns of the ship's capabilities, DD-01H rolled right on ahead to board it anyway.  As the droid trundled its way up the short launching ramp at the side door, the ramp's hydraulics strained momentarily as if they had to compensate for some sudden major shift in weight.  They groaned in relief once DD-01H was over the threshold and relaxed back into their default position, oddly enough.  The droid itself seemed unconcerned as it spun about the interior in immediate search of a docking station it could link itself to, rather than just idling on its own power source while waiting for the organics to eventually get into gear.

"You have a point... It lands... safely?!" Aayla said, in response to DD's comment. She then watched as the droid strained the boarding ramp, which did not inspire confidence, but she followed the droid on board and looked around the ship.

Avax wanders into the hangar and stares around him. At first he heads hopefully towards the B-Wing, but seeing the other two climbing the boarding ramp of the Hwk has him back on the right track.
"Are those thruster ports for decorative purposes?" He asks, peering at the exhaust system.

Kaqui walks in and flips down her scanner goggles. "Wow! Look at that ship. Real big, huh? Is it safe?"

She walks over and begins to check it out, hoping not to find any breaches or other dangerous situations.

Avax follows the Chadra Fan inside. He stays about a meter behind her, fiddling with one of the fasteners on his coat.

"Are you an engineer? Only I think we need an engineer to verify that this vehicle is safe for the task assigned to it,"

Lynni knew a good ship when she saw one.

"It may look old, but remember General Calrissian, the war hero. He piloted a kriffing YT-1300, and he blew up the damned Death Star with it. Just imagine what this old venerated thing can do."

She looked at Nugb. She had faith, at least.

She too had collected her things. There were not many items, most stashed in a large backpack, but among such notable things was a good ol' fashioned A-290 rifle in a sling over her shoulder, and on her belt a rather nasty looking knife.

Choobie can be seen only smiling.

"It's the same thing every time.  When will y'all Rebs learn it ain't about appearances?"

Choobie pulls his datapad from his belt.

"Y'all gonna love this."

"Let's go baby!"

At his call, the Dust Moth comes to life.  As the life support systems come online and the power fills the bloodlines of the ship, you hear a faint chirping.  Almost as if the ship was talking.

"Awe, I missed you too baby."

The Verpine scowls but continues inside. After a moments thought he whispers to Lyn.

"I think he's on spice. I bet General Calrissian wasn't on spice!" Before finding a passenger seat and inspecting the safety harness.

"Calrissian was a gambler, he won big and lost big, at times. He won big that time." Aayla replied to Avax's comment, "But then the whole Rebellion could be classified that way. At least the Sullustan didn't say 'Trust me,' then I'd know we were hosed."

"Why are we still here?  Our mission parameters have been set and there are currently a substantial number of individuals in dire need of being shot with blasters.  We should proceed with all due haste."  DD-01H had found a docking station to settle into for the trip, though it was hardly a perfect fit.  The oversized astromech didn't seem like it could properly nest into standard docking units for some reason... whoever had built it must not have had general functionality in mind.  Or it was just such an old clunker model that it wasn't compatible with even somewhat recent modular tech.

Immediately upon entering the freighter you are hit with the comforting aroma of foreign incense.  The lighting is slightly dim, but even an untrained eye can tell it’s for ambience alone. Any free space on the interior hull walls of the cargo bay is decorated with several posters of holo-vid stars, cantina band tour dates and occasionally the provocative photo of a voluptuous female Twi’lek.

Once you ascend to the main deck, the intoxicating aroma of the incense only strengthens.  Your feet are met with the odd sensation of carpeted floors.  /Shag/ carpeting nonetheless.  “Like walkin’ on a wookie, baby,” The salesman told Choobie.  To his credit, it definitely does.  Across from the elevator you see an apparently converted Dejarik table, which now plays holo-vids and music.  The accompanied couch seems worn in but in a way that makes you feel homesick.  Sternwards are the living quarters and medical bay, both having been graced by Choobie’s design preferences.

Towards the bow is the control deck, where the aroma seems to be originating from.  In addition to the incense, posters and lighting attributed to what can simply be described as “The Choobie Factor,” every free spot on the ceiling of the deck has a myriad of charms hanging from them.  You feel like it seems more akin to a spice den than to a control deck to a rebel freighter, but to it’s credit it is a far cry from the sterile white and grey that you are used too.

Lynni unslings the backpack and the rifle, carrying both in her hand by the slings. "Spice or no spice, Republic command trusts him enough to employ him. I think we should be safe.."

She takes in the ship. It was... More exotic than she had expected, honestly. She wondered what the Sullustan did on his professional time when not hired by the Republic. Smuggling, possibly. But she was not one to judge at the moment. He was hired for their sake, after all. She did however find the Twi'lek poster somewhat... Distasteful. She only afforded a groan though.

"Alright Captain, where are the bunks? Also, any estimation on when we can arrive to our target location?"

Still unsure about the nature of the ship, Avax investigates the holo vid collection. After a few seconds of rummaging he selects an animated adventure originally aimed at kids, and slips it into the player. Returning to his seat he is quickly enchanted by the action unfolding. A childish glee somewhat at odds with the Ryyk blade lying on the seat next to him.

"I've changed my mind. I like this ship. It's got an insect in its name, that's a good thing. Do we have snacks? I want a cheese and mushroom omelette," he rambles.

Choobie points Lyn towards the stern.

"Quarters are in the back.  If you hit the med bay you've gone too far.  If you walk into my hyperdrive, you've gone too far and your buds will be in hot water."

"And hey, Avax –"
looking at the content insectoid on his couch, "No cheese, sonko.  Sorry.  Budget this month only allowed for rebby rations.  And we should save those for the trip."

Choobie walks over to an intercom device on the wall –

"Hey y'all, I'm gonna be plotting our course.  Make yourselves at home."
