As best as I can tell, the Emily Effect is due to the wombo combo of being disarmingly sincere AND really intense.

Some notes:

- Aran, Dacthu, and Petra have been removed for being inactive for over a month without replying to PMs. All of them were having IRL issues and didn't have time to game.

- This brings us to a final total of 5 players and six characters.

- So far, Ulfur and Anna have created secondary characters. This is the point where, if you're going to create a secondary character, I would like it to be done. I strongly encourage you to do so, since it's fun to get a different look at your character's concept, and it would actually help me keep better track of everything because symmetry is nice - and it's important to how the story is going to shape up.

- Your secondary character doesn't have to be identical. They share knowledge, but have their own personalities, own domains, and own names. Annabelle (Anathema's secondary character) is only tangentially related. They just have to mesh.

- If you real self dies, your dream self lives on. If your dream self dies, your real self lives on. There is no shared mortality.

RIP bunnyears and other two characters I never got to know.

I won't be creating a secondary character for this game.

Part of Argentum's concept is that he is native to Myriad given the unusual circumstances of his birth. He isn't the dream-self of some other being, but is his own living dream unto himself.

Hey guys - still alive, just having all of my time consumed by men and family. I really want time to write but between my fiancee's friend, our boyfriend-in-training, and her current boss, I just haven't been able to this week :( I've also been drinking on these outings, and I get drunk after one or two drinks, so technically I've been getting drunk for like three nights in a row?? Which is uhhhhh not great??

It's like I have both a full-time job (my work) and a part time job (being a wife) and I just keep running out of time in the day, if I want to get 8 hours of sleep.

I've gotten my master to agree to not setting up more than one weekday date per week, so this shouldn't happen again.

Do any of y'all have advice, actually??

I'm thinking of getting a really cheap laptop or something so I can write while we're carpooling to work / during my pretty sweet 1-hour lunch and get some quality time with y'all that way?

I'm probably the last person who should be giving life advice (on account of my not really having much of a life), buuuut my completely uneducated opinion would be not to drink alcohol. It tastes horrible and does even worse things to you.

As for laptops, I took a quick look at Newegg and if you're just looking for something to write on and don't care about looks or performance I see a couple <$100 options. Might want to make sure you don't get motion sickness first though; speaking from personal experience it just adds to problems rather than solving them.

Whether taking even more of your free time away for us is of course a decision you'll have to make yourself.

You should try to lobby for at least 1 hour/day of free time for your writing. You may have to reduce wife and bf time to make this happen, but it's only 1 hour/day and it gives you a chance to sort of decompress through your writing and such too so it's healthy for you.

Yeah, literally just writing. A small notebook style computer would be best, honestly, or even a tablet I can link a wireless little laptop to.

Also, I have a new shoot coming up, which I'm excited about, especially since it's my first shoot with me charging an increased rate since I have some experience. The photographer has a talent for vivid colors and interesting composition. Last time I modelled was after one year of transition, and now I'm coming up on 18 months and I'd really like to document how significantly my look had changed. I was really androgynous in my last shoot and I think I'll be clearly female in this one, especially given how my hip-to-waist ratio has shifted.

I definitely need at least one hour of me-/writing time.

Fun little note: 'darkmoon' Nian is a reference to my first Theo game, that Argentum played in. It never actually got into the game, but a Lunar character - Eclipse - was introduced in one of the player's threads, and he was part of a lunar pantheon composed of the five colors of Kookhean elementalism - Pink/White (Rose/Full Moon) and Black (Eclipse/Dark Moon), the yin/yang colors, as well as colors of the three fates (Blood Moon, Blue Moon, Harvest Moon)

I have a ton of old stuff that never got used, and Myriad is basically a place for me to dump that stuff XD

Also, my writing brain has been really obsessed with writing a erotic story about a hellhound/werewolf hybrid who has to attend a fantasy college. Kicker is, in order to become human and avoid hell, she has survive the full four years without sinning. One sin, and her owner - the Paladin that killed her parents in Hell and took her in as a new puppy - will smite her dead, boom.

The comedy of it is that while the girl is consumed with guilt for being a monster and takes the whole sin thing extremely seriously (if she likes a girl, that's lust! and homosexuality is wrong!), she actually has a hard deathwish and keeps trying to call her owner up saying she's sinned and needs to be smote, and the paladin is always like "haha what. Liking other people isn't lust. Relax, just don't intentionally hurt anyone, and don't be a dick, and you're good," the girl refuses to accept that she's not really a horrific beast with a soul only redeemable for a one-way express ticket to Perdition.

She's the perspective character, which colors the narrative strongly, but basically any time she actually talks to her owner you realize she's just an introverted homeschooled kid that's only ever read about the world and is dealing with dumb teen angst and identity issues at the ripe old age of 20.

I'm calling it Tails of AWU. (Augustinus Western University.)

If you ever read Tales of MU, it's a direct satire of that ridiculously long-winded author wank which starred a half-demon with PTSD in a world based on DnD.

I don't think that's a good idea. They are of historical interest if nothing else; imagine if Talon had purged Komatas, Lysandre, and Skele's threads. Empress would have nothing to go on for them!

I disagree but I see your point. I never revisited those threads once the players were gone and I can't recall anything of note ever arising from them afterwards.

Well...this hour/day minimum writing time should also at the very least incorporate RPOL as well. RPOL has always been a place to decompress for you (for all of us). If you need more time, then tell your lovers you need 2 hours/day for writing and that they need to live with it. That is still NOT too much to ask for, Em.

You remember those shoes I mentioned back in post #320? The other day I was lacing them up and the laces literally ripped the metal rings out of the pleather, which rather impairs my ability to wear them again. Get what you pay for I guess! Nonetheless, they did their job; they have confirmed for me that they are the type of cute heely shoes that I want to have, so now I am more confident in spending money to get something better.

I like real leather way too much to buy fake leather.

Down side is, I've bought waaaay too many leather boots. It's a problem. My favorite currently are some military boots made in 1980's in Germany. They are super comfortable it is beyond ridiculous. They are weather proof so I don't have to worry about water getting inside unless it comes from above the boots.

I don't go outside very much but based on my mostly-theoretical knowledge I believe most weather comes from above boots.
