Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
Wilie Boy has some raised welts that oozed a bit on his arms. The plant was an unfamiliar species that seemed to have a similar effect to poison oak.

21:01, Today: 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees rolled 1 success using 7d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed, Specialised system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s ((6,3,6,4,10(+4),1,9)).

Agnes chuckles lightly, "I see you haven't dealt with tühüyago'opi before. You need to listen to it. Hear it speak, it will still hurt, but not as much."

Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
Agnes smiles and claps Willie Boy on the back, "Now that is the spirit!"

She surveys the area of the cairn, "I think that will do for this side of the Gauntlet for now. Your next step is to commune with the spirits in the Umbra, and bring them into alignment."

Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
Willie Boy shifts into ursine form, trying to rend the gauntlet, but is slightly distracted as the texture reminds him a little of fried twinkies, a little gummy but soo tasty. It takes a few minutes but he manages to get through making plans for snacks later.

20:17, Today: 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees rolled 1 success using 4d10 with the World of Darkness 3rd ed, Specialised system with a target of 6, rerolling 10s with rolls of 8,4,1,9.  Rite of rending the gauntlet.

Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
As Willie Boy enters the Penumbra, he sees a scene that seems in even worse shape and more overgrown than it was in the physical world. Weeds tower over, him seemingly 30 feet high, and there is all manner of trash strewn about. There are no spirits visible in the immediate vicinity. As much damage as this cairn had seen, it is still unusual to see no spirits. Even extremely damaged areas, such as toxic waste dumps, would generally have banes hanging around.

Willie Boy would need to figure out why the umbra was so barren.

In his searching around, Willie Boy detects a very faint hint of a smell. It seems as if it is coming from downhill away from the cairn, if he could smell better he could probably locate it.

Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
As you follow the scent, you notice that this area of the Umbra seems to be increasingly static. The sense of life and energy you can normally detect in the Umbra does not seem to be present here. The air seems stale, and even the light and shadows seem locked into place.

As you move further along, you can see that all of the plants around you are covered in extremely fine webs. There are no spiders on them, but the webs are covering everything around you.

Sensing that the presence of the webs signified something of importance Willie Boy proceeded to follow the scent through the plants. Carefully taking note of of his location relative to where he started and being aware of his environment.

Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
Continuing along the path of the scent, in fact the only thing you can really smell at the moment, the webs increase in thickness and number. The webs seem to be converging on a single point. As you reach this point you can hear rustling and hissing. Looking closer you can see a very thick weave of webs around a space approximately the size of a tire from a tractor trailer.

Swarming all over this concentrated weave of webs are thousands, and thousands of tiny spiders. They seem to be constantly repairing the webs, but you can't quite see what is necessitating the repairs, or where the hissing sound is coming from. Closing in, you can also detect a very faint smell... it is difficult to place, but you think it is burning spider web.

In reply to Yoshi (msg # 29):
This is strange thinks Willie Boy. This place feels weird, the heavy spider webs, the constant repair and destruction needed further investigation. The situation was confusing and needed to be sorted out. The scent of burning spider web draws his attention fist and he focuses on tracking down the source of that smell.

The smell of burning spider webs seem to be quite clearly coming from the center of the mass of spider webs where the hustle and bustle is coming from.

Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
As you stretch your paw into the mass of spiderwebs, the small spiders begin swarming over your foreleg, quickly beginning to web it into place. Looking like Willie Boy has made a mistake, the spiders continue to swarm up his leg webbing it in place as they near his torso.

As Willie Boy struggles with the spiders, the hissing sound from inside the we intensifies as does the smell of burning webs.

Suddenly, the mas of webs explodes, sending burning web and spiders flying in all directions. Rising out of the ashes of webs and spiders is an flaming ring. As you look closer, you realize it is an ouroboros made of fire. It floats in front you, spinning slightly on the vertical axis.

The spiders that were busy webbing you up leave and attempt to web the spirit back up, but only succeed in getting themselves burned as well.

willie boy is very relieved not to be covered in spiders and backs a little away from the center of the pile. He wonders how to communicate with the ouroboros.

Introducing 'Willie Boy' Scrapes-the-Trees
As you back away from the spirit, your mind is overtaken with visions.

Faster than you can truly begin to process them, vision after vision passes through your mind, overwhelming you.

Here and there, you can concentrate enough to process a few of them; a larger group of Garou in battle with unknown enemies, rapid growth of plants, a forest fire, sharks dancing on a birthday cake, a mortally wounded unicorn, a large flaming bird bursting into ash, an ominous industrial building, more rapid grown of plants, stars crashing together, and finally (repeated exactly 3 times in succession) a number of large rocks arranged in a circle in the center of a small clearing.

Feeling a little woozy after that experience. Willie Boy shook his head and thought about the various visions. The one with the rock ring had been very prominent and repeated itself. With that in mind Willie Boy lumbered off in search of the rock ring.

Before Willie Boy could get very far, he was struck with visions again as the spirit passed over his head in the direction of where he had entered the Umbra.

He saw two men fighting in an octagon, a tiger hanging upside down from a tree, a giant Twinkie spinning in the sky, a giant tortoise on its back, and a mountain of marmots scrambling over each other.

The images were a bit overwhelming, however the Twinkie was pretty awesome, thought Willie Boy. Determine to find out what was happening Willie Boy shook his head and proceeded to head toward the exit. He needed to be comfortable to process the imagery and try to figure out the symbology.

As you move back towards where you entered the Umbra, you realize that you can already detect a difference. The air is not so still and stale, scents are at first fleeting, then nearly overwhelming, with every moment that passes, everything just seems more alive.

The change is really pleasing but you are not sure what started the change but you hope the changes also are occurring back at the cairn.
