Thanks folks > we're all good so far.
Been very fortunate where I live because we are not experiencing any flooding or power outages. Several parts of the county are swamped with water and have been out of power since early Friday...with no relief in sight for what could be another 7-10 days. We were quite grateful when the hurricane downgraded from a CAT 3 to barely a CAT 2 and even a CAT 1 at landfall. I don't think we could have sustained 130+ mph winds for a full day and a half; that would have devastated our city.
So, while that was great, she slowed down to a crawl and dumped a shit ton of rain on us for about three days and our inner city is under water as are many of the outlying neighborhoods, especially those close to the river or creek. And the worst is yet to come re: water > the Cape Fear River is projected to crest at around 32 feet on Tuesday or Wednesday from all of the rain upstate. This will flood most of downtown for several street blocks and could last for days.

So, while our little neighborhood got by pretty good, we are basically an island with water blocking all roads into and out of our city. Folks who evacuated will not be able to get back home for at least another week, possibly longer depending on how fast the flood waters recede.

Really appreciate the prayers and good thoughts > been hard to concentrate on anything but hurricane prep and weather reports for pretty much the entire week.

Now, time for some bourbon and some gaming!

So I'm in the middle of open enrollment for both Medicare and ACA, so it'll have to be after the holidays, but maybe we could start thinking in terms of early in the new year. Just keep planting the seed & we'll make it happen.


Post forthcoming. Busy time of year for me, so there may be a bit of a slow down, but I'm going to keep moving this along.

Gang - just a quick word to express my appreciation for hanging in there. This is my busy time of year, and while the season has gotten off to a good start, I'm afraid that I've been a bit negligent in attending to this game.

That said, I will give every effort to maintain some sort of consistency through the end of the year.

And if I haven't said it enough, thank you for playing. I'm excited to DM this game - I remember buying the first Basic Set in 1980 or so, and just tearing through the rule set and marking up the maps, all the while not having a clue as to what I was doing.

I think that last sentence rings true all these years later!

A gardening mishap has seen our internet cable get damaged.  Duh!!  I’m just using the limited roaming data on my phone to let you know.  It’ll be a couple of days at least before I’m back.  I might still check in to read but posting through the phone is a pain so I’ll probably be AFK until it is fixed.  See you on the other side I’m guessing.

Still not fixed.  Been promised tomorrow between 12pm-5pm.  I'll believe it when I see it.  A comedy of errors so far.

It usually is. Feel for ya - one time had a guy come out to install the internet and he drilled through the siding on my house. Idiot.

Still not fixed.  The latest update after talking to the customer service based in the Philippines is - "The technician will get there when they get there."  So no day or time given.  Like a true telecommunications giant there is no way to actually talk to someone who knows what is going on.  My posting is pretty much on hiatus sorry.

No worries. You seem to be muddling along fairly well. Add that to my busy season, and we'll get through into the new year ready to rock n roll. Big stuff coming - if I could just get work to stop being so...workful, I might have a chance to run off two or three posts a week.

I'd be for kicking around on this level for a little longer, to accumulate XP more than anything and see if we can bump us all up a level.  This level = possibly easier targets to accumulate XP.  XP = HP = a better chance of survival.

On a side note, y'all will be happy to hear that Medicare Open Enrollment ends on the 7th of December, which means that we're drawing close to the end of my selling season. While I am happy for the rest, I kinda wish the selling season was all year round. I'd be a rich man. LOL!
