Uthecar will move over to the doorway in preparation to leave. He also keeps an eye on Weasel that way.

Kullonar steps back and says to his companions, "Why would a single iron ring be affixed to the middle of a wall? Could it be a secret passage or door?"

Bruno looks about also trying to get a sense of why there is a hook in the wall.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

Not a hook, Bruno. A ring. To give it some perspective, the ring is about 6" in diameter, and is affixed into the wall. It sits about 5' away from the hole in the floor.

"Perhaps it used to be an anchor point to tether bound creatures."  Uthecar volunteers from the doorway as he watches weasel move off.  "Best hold up lad." he calls after the boy.  "Kullonar's still getting his nut around the ring in the wall."

Kullonar gives Uthecar a "what the hell does that mean?" look and then just shakes his head and walks toward the door.

If Kullonar's look means anything to him Uthecar seems oblivious.  If room 18 hasn't been checked out he will stick his head in and take a quick look round.

Weasel's heading up the corridor toward room 17, followed by Zan and Myrrick and Kullonar. Bruno seems curious about the ring in the wall, Uthecar's poking the bristling half-orc priest before opening the door to 18.

Zan will move the smaller logs to the side to have a better look at the larger ones.  If any of them look hollow he will use his blade to investigate further.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

A likely use for the ring comes to Bruno's mind. As he is catching up with the rest of the party he says to Kullonar, "It's likely that was used as an anchor point or part of an apparatus of some sort to use to lower things into the hole. Maybe it was used as a prison?"

Re: Combing Quesqueton

There's very little of apparent use to the party in any of these rooms, unless they wish to carry an anvil around with them. Zan's inpection finds little - he does note a few tracks carved through some of the wood, as if by termites. And, of course, Weasel finds much the same - mostly detritus of little use.

Of course, there's the door in room 17...other than that, it's a matter of retracing steps.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

The party has conquered a small horde of trogs. After a brief look about, seems the only thing worth much was a dwarven shield being used by the biggest trog of the bunch.

The three room cluster appears to be a smithy, and adjoining support chambers. In room "17" is a door affixed to the left wall. Other than the door and the hole in the floor of "19", there doesn't appear to be any other egress from this area.

Party's actions, please.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

'We've gone as far as we can down this arm of this complex without going further underground.  Let's retrace our steps keeping to the left, to see if there is anything else to check on this level before we descend."  He brandishes the new shield on his arm.  "It is dwarven made, and unless anyone else feels they have a more worthy claim, I will keep it on my arm for now."

As long as everyone is in agreement, Uthecar plans to march back up to room 16 and continue to work around the outside, unless future events suggest a better process.

So said, he begins the march up the corridor back the way they came.

You might have overlooked our intention from post #346 Seer, or is it not specific enough?

Move up to room 16, Weasel listens at door, check for traps etc, we go in and sort out whatever needs to be sorted out.

Re: Combing Quesqueton

ooc: well, crap. you must be getting tired of me doing that. once again, my apologies.

With Weasel leading the way, the party moves up the corridor with alacrity, approaching the targeted door. Weasel steps forth and searches the door for any hidden pins, bolts, poisons, razors or anything else that could cause him bodily harm. He feels good about his effort at his craft.

Before we go any further, does anyone wish to add their two sense to the door before them?
