Uthecar moves in distancing himself from his friends slightly so the archers do not have a concentrated mass of people to fire at.  He has a dark expression on his face, not appreciating being on the end of the archers arrows.

With the initial shock of a beautiful woman commanding a group of armed men.  Zan made his way into the room with the others, "You might want to have your men lower their weapons, and your likely to find that answers would be more forthcoming.  Your obviously the one in command of your troups, your clothing says one of two things for you.  So before we get all chummy, I chose to answer your question with a question of my own.  We are prepared to defend ourselves, but not interested in a fight if it can be avoided.  So as you can see our weapons are lowered, I would ask you and your crew to do the same." At the same time Zan casually gathered a pinch of sand from his pocket.  Merely as precaution he told himself

As Kullonar offers his support (last one to speak), the woman says, "You can help by closing the door."

”Not a’for your men unnotch their arrows in good faith.” Uthecar replies not concerned if it was his place to speak or not.  Everyone was on edge and nakedly displayed weapons pointed at targets were a concession anyone thinking of negotiating would consider.  If that was too much to ask, the path the discussion would take was already clear.

As hard as it was to divert his attention from the lovely one, Zan looked over the guards trying to determine who among them was the sargent or captain. "Your headdress indicates that you are someone of importance.  Whom do we have the honor of being in the presence of?"

Keeping his shield up and his hand on his blade's handle Bruno speaks again,"Look, we've not seen a ghoul or skeleton after fighting a good many of them yesterday.

"We appreciate your concerns, believe me, but if you're truly concerned about more undead sneaking in behind us you should appreciate the ones we have about the arrows your men have pointed at us."

Kullonar finds the door won't close all the way.

For her part, the woman merely says, "Go!"

And...all hell breaks loose.

The six behind the table raise their crossbows.

Myrrick, Bruno and Weasel may take actions prior to the party, Uthecar, Zan and Kullonar will finish the round after the party.

Game on & Good luck!

OOC:  For Uthecar's split second battle tactic planning how heavy does the table look that all the archers and the mage are behind?  Does it look to him as if a solid shoulder charge aginst the table would force it back into the archers hampering their efforts to fire or melee?  Does it look as if that move (if it could be pulled off) would be beneficial to the party?  From what he can see is there plenty of room for them to move behind or around the table or might it cramp them going forward if it was pushed back?

Being a library of sorts, is there shelving to hide behind, or is the party totally exposed to missile fire?  Uthecar does not carry a shield, but is there anything he could pick up or hide behind moving forward towards the archers?  Are there chairs around the table, are they going to get in the way of a charge, are some still behind the table cramping the archers?  Yeah sorry.

Myrrick is off with his aim, but Bruno charges and his reach is just long enough to dispatch the left most mercenary behind the table. The man falls with a cry, then silence.

Behind the front line, Zan readies a spell. Suddenly a form flies from hiding in the shadows in the aisle between two bookcases, his blade searching for the small of Zan's back (as he begins his own spell). Perhaps it's luck, or Ginger's timing, but the elf evades the cold blade of death. Unfortunately, the assailant is not so lucky: as he swears in frustration, Weasel appears as if from thin air right behind him and plants his short sword, a dark and wicked looking thing, into the middle of his back. The man falls, his profanity cut short as a pool of blood slicks the floor around him.

For her part, the mistress casts a spell and suddenly a white, sticky mass appears in several layers before her, reaching from wall to wall, effectively closing off the way for the party in the entrance area of the library.

For his part, Zan casts his own spell, though it's efficacy is masked by the web. You do hear cries of alarm, and a female voice says, "Wake them!"

Bruno finds himself entrapped by the spell, as does Myrrick. Zan and Weasel, Uthecar and Kullonar are all less than a foot away from the thick weave.

Note: Zan and the female mage cast at what amounted to the same time. FYI.

Party's actions, please be specific!

Being stuck in the web is more than an annoyance, but Moradin gave Bruno a good deal of bodily strength and he intends to use on the treacherous wizard and her minions. Accordingly he sets to pulling himself free and getting to the other side of their barricade.

OOC: I can't recall, but think I may move 10'  (1") with an 18+ Strength. I'm assuming that if that's enough to get through the thing, I still won't be able to attack this round.

A bit louder than needed, "Captain Uthecar, is it time to call in the reinforcements"  He gave Uthecar a wink and a thumbs up when he looked his way.

Zan drew his longsword and started cutting away at the webbing near Bruno

"Weasle, check this thug, for worth.  Ginger if you see them zap'em."

Zan may have a plan, but Uthecar is totally focused on and ferociously attacking the webs, clearing them away from Bruno if he is in the way, but with the main purpose of getting through to the people on the other side.  He doesn't look Zan's way, though he does shout.  "Best you call them up before I butcher them all."  He continues slicing at the webs with his axe shouting,"Surrender or die, I don't care which."

OOC:  From what The Seer has said, Bruno has already attacked this round, and the webs came into force at the same time as his sleep spell struck.  Uthecar's action follow the webs being formed, so he is clearing thew webs this round as his action.  He is not stuck in the webs, and he has an axe and decent strength so hopefully they will be cleared prior to the next round.
