The Adventure Continues

29 Patchwall, YR 1 of The Seer's New Greyhawk Orthodox Calendar.  Time: approximately early afternoon, around 215PM on the revised 24 hour clock.

Squabbles aside, the party forms up, Bruknar near the front with Uthecar and Myrrick, the two gnomes integrating into the party's marching order in the second rank with Bruno and Kullonar and the last rank Weasel and Zan.

To be fair Uthecar is in the same boat so maybe we should hold up and do some curing before heading on.

The Adventure Continues

Seeing his companions hurting, Kullonar summons the divine aid of St. Cuthbert and offers as much healing as needed.

OOC: Trading in the spells Bless, Light, & Prot. From Evil
22:26, Today: Kullonar rolled 2 using 1d8.  CLW to Uthecar.
22:26, Today: Kullonar rolled 6 using 1d8.  CLW to Uthecar.
22:26, Today: Kullonar rolled 1 using 1d8.  CLW to Uthecar.

Feeling his prayers cannot reach St. Cuthbert underneath all these tons of stone, Kullonar sighs and says, "I have one healing spell remaining. Who needs it before we move along?"

Zan will get to work helping find a suitable location for the group to hold up and rest a bit.

He will set traps at the entrances to help make sure that the group isn't surprised by any random encounters.

Not The Seer's house rules but form page 82 DMG: For game purposes i t is absolutely necessary that the character rest in order to recuperate, i.e. any combat, spell using, or similar activity does not con- stitute rest, so no hit points can be regained. For each day of rest a character will regain 1 hit point, up to and including 7 days. However a character with a penalty for poor constitution must deduct weekly the penalty score from his or her days of healing, i.e., a -2 for a person means that 5 hit points healing per week is maximum, and the first two days of rest will restore no hit points. After the first week of continuous rest, characters with a bonus for high constitution add the bonus score to the number of hit points they recover due to resting, i.e., the second week of rest will restore11 (7 +4) hit points to a fighter character with an 18con- stitution. Regardless of the number of hit points a characterhas, 4 weeks of continuousrestwill restoreany characterto full strength.

Personally I liked WG's rule of maximum HP being received from a cure if it is delivered outside of combat.  It seems to solve the inevitable day or two of waiting after cures are received from dice roles, and it is seen that they aren't really enough.

Thanks for the info, Uthecar. The following is from the player's handbook:

1 HP of mundane healing/day for the  first 30 days, then 5/day until healed. Page 105

Wine guy's house rule allows for max healing OUTSIDE of combat.

Seer's house rule allows for spontaneous casting, i.e. you swap out a non healing spell for a cure spell on the fly - even in combat. I've also House Ruled Cure Moderate wounds as a 2nd level spell (2d8 points of healing) as well from v.3.0.

Unless you all object, I'm pretty sure my house rules offers ample oppotunities for curing. I'm not going to allow megamagic healing on top of what I've already offered.

As for damaged players: everyone who was damaged gets 1 HP for resting over night in addition to whatever curing they're getting.

The party follows Uthecar's lead, heading down the corridor that Kullonar previously fled down.

After about 100' of corridor, the passage splits: you can go straight, or turn right (2 options). Some 30' away is another corridor that turns right again. Past that your light sources reach their max range.

If you go straight, you enter a hall that seems to go in diagonal switchbacks sort of like this:

Please see the new map in the Map thread. The red dot is where you stand.

As mentioned, the party is at something of a crossroads, and odd shaped passage that sort of goes straight, then another passage leading downward (to the best of your recollections), with an opening some 30' or so ahead. Eventually the corridor is cloaked in darkness.

As you stand and look around, you find that there are sounds in this part of the keep: strange susurrations and whispers, along with chirpings and a low moaning sound. This area feels cooler than the rest of the keep you've seen so far. Oddly, the air here seems less stagnant.

Bruno scans the area. This is certainly an odd place. Not just that it is a dungeon, but the sounds... He has been in similar places before without the 'effects' -- he's a Dwarf and has shares his race's appreciation for them. That said, this all seems quite weird.

And 'weird' is not good.

"The hallway across the way seems likeliest", he says pointing to the corridor south and heading west of where they stand.

With Uthecar the Adventurous in the lead, the party marches another 50' down the corridor, where upon you find yourselves at a crossroads that ends at an alcove (10x10) on the left and a corridor running some 30' or so to the right.

You note that the area seems sort of familiar. As you explore further, you realize that on the wall ahead is the secret door that leads into the wizard's workroom, to the right is the corridor that splits in multiple directions.

Basically you've just gone in a fairly substantial circle.

Uthecar will still like to shoulder past if Weasel allows to open the door.  He will manipulate the latch so it just opens and then he will step back and kick the door with the bottom of his foot like he is busting it in, so it swings open against the far inner wall.  He'll stand there looking in first before entering if nothing is right there.

(if the door opens outwards he will swing it open quickly allowing it to slam against the outer wall as he stands outside looking in.)

Ignoring the lack of sound, Uthecar jostles Weasel aside and opens the door.

The place seems another storage area. Running lengthwise 10' by 70' left to right, there are stacks of discarded material along shelves and stuffed in corners throughout. Some items of note include:

wooden pegs
light rope (50')
heavy chain
coil of copper wire
mining picks (wooden hafts are rotted, but the tops are still in good shape)
chisels
shovels
empty barrels
mallets
iron bars
iron vise
mining jacks
cross cut saws
hacksaws
a mason's toolbox
a cobblers toolbox
a small barrel of arrows (60)

To the far right, against the wall, sits a 10' bench.

All of this you take in, in but moments. What captures your attention, however, is the still form of a dead goblin, the corpse desiccated and dry as if left here for a long time. Suddenly, three critters about the length of an average human's arm skitter from three distinct points - one from beneath the bench, another from behind the barrels and a third from the center of the coil of rope.

Tannish brown, they appear to be a cross between a spider and scorpion - each has twin whip like appendages that they are brandishing as they move to attack.

Each of you roll individual initiative and your attack/damage rolls, if you please. The bugs rolled a 6.

Re: The Adventure Continues

The party fans out, though the groupings seem to match party order: Myrrick and Uthecar to the left, Bruno, Bruknar and Kullonar in the middle and Zan and Weasel to the right.

Myrrick & Uthecar vs the bug - Bug misses 3x, whiplike appendages flying about as pincers fail to cut a hole in both fighters' armor. Myrrick's blow goes awry, meanwhile, with an inarticulate battle cry, Uthecar scores a mighty blow, squashing the large bug into a messy pile of ichor.

Bruknar, Bruno & Kullonar vs. the bug.

Bruno calls forth Moradin's blessing (cast Bless: +1 to hit and vs. saves)

Bruknar is not so fortunate with his axes, which he's wielding instead of throwing in the close quarters. Both smack the stone floor, evoking sparks.

Kullonar is cool under pressure, however. The blow from his morning star absolutely crushes the bug into another nasty pool.

Weasel and Zan vs. the bug - this one's not so good, the bug flicks its tentacles in distracting fashion, then attaches itself to Zan who cries out in pain and horror as the little beastie begins to tear into his flesh...

2 dead, one nibbling on poor Zan. 6 inits go first followed by the rest, I'll save the last critter's attack for last, remember, even if everyone hits, he still gets a go.

Bruknar and Weasel rush to Zan's aid. Both the dwarf and the human show amazing care as a) Bruknar flicks a wrist and delicately detaches the bug from Zan's body, while b) Weasel dances forward and skewers it with his sword. It jerks on the blade for a moment before Weasel flings it headlong against the wall. A black stain forms as the bug slides down the stone wall.

Combat over - nicely done. These critters were a bit different from the typical fare...I was wondering how they would do.

Party's actions - keep in mind the initial description of the room, including the dead body, and all the dungeoning gear that's still laying around.

All is quiet as the players make their way back around to the main 'up and down' corridor. You may recall the odd passage of zigzags at the top of the corridor, further to the 'down' the corridor continues into darkness.

There are no longer noises in the darkness, no drips, dribbles or moaning gusts. Just a deep and abiding silence.

ooc: two choices: head up to the zigzag, head down into the darkness.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Bruno moves in a manner similar to Uthecar. One might call it a 'Dwarven Manner': a steady, albeit careful, step that is underscored with a tintinnabulation of metal armor, weapons and his kit. Not quit a clanking and not loud, but certainly present.

He had a cousin who would become a scout and was able to move quite stealthily, but this is something he never picked up even when they would play hide and seek. It always bothered him that Brollo would win not because he could hide so well, but because he would always hear Bruno and escape again just before our hero would nab him. Still, one goes with not only with what one is best at, but with what one knows and since he knows that he does not have the gift of stealth Bruno is attentive to his surroundings and ready for whomever knows he is present to act.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Weasel seems full of anxious energy, at times excited, at other times frightened...though the run in with the ghoul from a couple days past seems to have not affected his willingness to continue on. Kullonar, scion of Cuthbert the stern, seems to have developed the reticence left behind by the young human.

For their part, the dwarves - Uthecar and Bruno, and Bruknar, are marching forward with dwarven determination, unmindful of that 'dwarvish racket.' They are followed fairly closely by Myrrick as Zan follows to the rear.

The tunnel they're following seems like a zigzag, twisting and turning for some 160' before they turn a corner to the right and find a door on their left hand side. The passage continues straight downward into further darkness. You have come to a great unknown.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DM Note: Please note the big red 'X' as a typo on the new map uploaded in the Map Thread. The door is on your left as you follow 'down' the passage.

Uthecar brushes by Weasel and enters what appears to be a bedroom of sorts.

It is huge, opulent really, with a Canopy over a king sized bed on the top wall, an empty fireplace across from the door and a finely made escritoire sitting against the bottom wall. Multiple bear and cat skin cloaks are scattered along the floor, bundled together in an haphazard heap.

Upon the walls themselves are two tapestries, one on the upper wall to the left of the bed, the other on the lower wall above the escritoire. Both are fairly epic in scope, the first featuring a wizard, hands palms up, seeming to juggle glowing balls of light. The other is a portrait of a handsome man with stern features looking leftward from the creator of the tapestry.

All furnishings are covered with a thick coat of dust.

What do you do?

Re: The Adventure Continues

As the party looks about the room, with Myrrick and Weasel actively searching the fringes, the  carpet of piled furs and rugs begins to tremble and shake. From the middle, a form pulls itself from the center, howling a death's call that freezes the blood. Suddenly, a noisome pall, similar to the ghasts faced earlier, but worse if it can be believed, permeates the room, leaving all of you weakened and sick to your stomachs (no penalties). It is the stench of the grave, the stench of death, the stench of despair.

A sudden, ugly laughter fills the room, a call to arms, a call to feast...perhaps both the same thing?!!!

OOC: the thing is obviously undead, though it is not a ghoul, nor is it a ghast, both of which you've seen before. Power exudes from this beast, a negative, unholy force, and in his hand is a well-wrought, mighty hammer.

pointing at the cluster of characters near the center of the room, he grins and then howls. Then he charges: Initiative: 4

Kullonar is quick to the strike, but unlucky, and his attempt to turn is met with mocking undead laughter.

Zan fires off a Magic Missile, scoring the beast for 4 more points of damage.

Bruno tosses holy water at the beast. An unearthly light gleams in its eyes as it recognizes a holy man.

The beast attacks Bruno, his blow harmless against the doughty priest's armor.

Myrrick slashes the beast, scoring a wicked hit along it's flank.

Bruknar swings twice, both hit, but he's not sure if the thing even noticed his efforts.

Uthecar rushes forward into the fray, swinging his axe and connecting with a might blow. Like his kinsman, Bruknar, he wonders at the toughness of the beastie and the lack of response to it's blow.

At the same time, Zan fires two more bolts from his wand, cause 7 more points of damage.

Myrrick misses, as does Bruknar, but Uthecar lines up for a might blow...with his shield? Using the weapon as a cudgel, he tries to strike the beast. Unfortunately, he misses, but he notes the beast shying away from the magic of the shield...hmm?!

Re: The Adventure Continues

Without further ado, Weasel sets to his task. He searches the entirety of the room with a quickness and efficiency that belies his age. First, he starts with the stacks of pelts, carpet and skins where the deader made his lair. They smell of rancid death and none of them promise any return if brought back to market - more likely, any self respecting merchant would tell the party to take them out back and burn them.

He continues to the bed on the upper wall. Despite it's opulence, a thick coat of dust covers the mattress and all the exposed parts of the bed and frame itself. The bed screen is made of fine silk, but even that is ruined - one touch causes a large swath to fall free to to floor. Weasel's attempt to pick it up causes it to disintegrate.

With a frustrated grunt, he moves on to the escritoire. Here he takes great care: checking diligently for traps, snares, hidden compartments, etc. Finding nothing out of the normal, he slides open the front cover and studies within.

Turning to his fellows, he said, "Nice desk, not worth toting around though." With a wink for Uthecar, he adds, "Unless you wish to carry it on your back, Master Dwarf!"

Turning back, he pulls open three small compartments within. The first has parchment, dried and crumbling like the silk bedcovers. The second has a quill and and a glass container that holds dried ink. As he opens the third, the party hears him mutter a soft, "Aha!"

Turning around, it appears he holds open a small, wooden box, like a keep sake or cigar box. Within sits a small blue felt bag. Opening the bag, he draws in a deep breath then let's out a slow whistle."

"Fharlangn's Hairy Balls, would you look at this, lads!"

From the bag falls two small gems, perhaps the size of an infant's fingernail. But that's not what catches everyone's eyes: It is the gem encrusted necklace that causes a stir among the party. Each crowds around the young man to get a better look.

While the time beneath the surface is difficult to measure - at least for the non-dwarves of the party - your biological clocks tell you that there's still a lot of exploration to be made before finding a hidey-hole in which to sleep. Those of you who hunger can eat as you trek. Those of you not hungry, sip at your waterskins and keep moving forward.

By looks alone, you cannot tell whether the necklace is magic. It is finely crafted, though.

Party's move, what'cher gonna doooo?

Bruno is interested in the necklace, but not really one for jewelry. Rather, he knows there is more to investigate here and likely even more goodies to find and is impatient to get moving.

Turning to Uthecar he says, "You lads in the front have done well enough so far. Lead on!"

Bruknar moves forward, a step behind Uthecar and Myrrick, a step before Kullonar and Bruno. He seems to be muttering to himself, not loud enough for the words to be intelligible, but a presence nonetheless. He has both of his axes in his grip, a stern, nearly angry look on his face and a determined stride in his step.

"I'm ready for wot'at," he declares at last, the words a loud hiss.

Given the uniformity of the rooms and the lack of any identifying decor or singular keepsakes, you get the sense that they are accommodations for august guests.

The search yields nothing of value. The bedclothes are tattered, much like the prior room, the desk is more common, with compartments that hold nothing of worth and a search by dwarves and rogues each turns up no secret compartments.

Even the carpeting is covered in dust and threadbare, with no indication that anyone had walked across them in years.

As Uthecar spends time killing the bedframe, Kullonar spends a moment looking at the figure on the bed. It is a smallish figure, female, and seems to be elfish in nature. Gone are the eyes and the skin is stretched tight over her face. Cheekbones are stark and narrow. You get the sense that she was once a very pretty girl, though the lay of her skull seems to indicate sadness or pain.

Upon further inspection, you note striations grooved into various parts of the skull, and even her fingers, in a spiral pattern. This includes all the bones, which seem to have some spiral striations on them.

As the party moves forward together, following the little ghost waif, they come to a stairway that descends some fifteen feet, ending in a landing. The corridor shifts to the left here, and the surface is smooth. After about 20', the corridor turns back to the original direction.

Even the dwarves are having difficulty with the maze-like corridors, leaving all three somewhat flummoxed.

For her part, the girl continues patiently onward, pausing when the party slows and halting when they stop, although she seems impatient if the party stalls for too long. After several twists and turns, the party finds themselves emptying out into a vertical chamber that runs up and down.

Suddenly, with a great smile on her face, the girl waves to all of you and disappears.

Re: The Adventure Continues

The party basically made a big circle to get to this point. If you'll recall the map in the workshop area, you may have noted a series of blinds and small, attached rooms that made up a serious labyrinthe. In effort to skip the drama of describing about thirty 10x10 rooms, one after the other, I figured I'd use the little girl as a plot device.

You're welcome!

So now you get a refresh to someplace familiar, though, frankly, you're still as puzzled on where to at this point. The corridor goes up and down, both directions take you somewhere you've been.

Good luck.

Re: The Adventure Continues

ooc: I see we stalled out a bit. If you would, check the Maps thread. Look for the upper level: room 13, adjacent to the left is the up and down corridor - you recognize it as the passage down toward the wizard's workshop.

You recall that the map is actually posted on the wall in an artistic bas-relief.

One of you might suggest going back to the wizards workshop which is directly down from where your standing (look for the secret door in the wall directly before you).

Oh, and stay away from the labyrinthe. There's nothing there, and it's too much for Rpol to describe nearly unending 10x10 rooms.

Sorry for the delay moving this along. Between travel and work, well, you get the idea.

Cheers!

Kullonar:

Find Room 9.

Look 'up'

You are about halfway up the vertical passage, where a second corridor turns right. That is the passage the little girl led you to. You don't want to go back that way...trust me.

All that to say, it was the way you came, so you'd be retreating back the way you came - no point to that.

Y'all need to study the map. There's a reason I posted it without it you'll be turning in circles until the game crashes because no one wants to die by boredom.

So I'm getting you through what's actually a pretty cool part of the dungeon from a DM's perspective, because describing 10x10 rooms and various twisting corridors, well...you get my point, I hope.

The party descends the corridor to rooms 8 & 9, spend some time resting from your labors, then study the map. Bruno, Bruknar and Uthecar even hand draw a map on some of the parchment found in the wight's chambers.

Leaving from room 9, you turn left, then turn left again, then turn left one more time and find yourselves in the passage leading down toward the keep's entrance. 10' up the map, the passage splits. You can continue up or you can go to the right.

GAR! The battle joined!

Zan has first initiative...unfortunately, his aim is horrible. The second shaft narrowly misses Uthecar...

...meanwhile, Myrrick barely has to step in the room before the blade of his halberd plunges into the nearest ghoul. It falls, and a fetid stench rises in the room.

Distracted by Zan's poor effort, Uthecar charges in, but his effort is just shy of success. He is alone amidst three ghouls.

Kullonar and Bruno have the burly dwarf's back, however, as the combined might of Cuthbert and Moradin cause the ghouls to flee across the room, disappearing with loud squeals around a corner.

Bruknar starts forward, then halts, realizing that the ghouls are far faster than he is.

Weasel joins the party, mutters "Fragging ghouls. I hate them things."

A door slams around the corner of the room.

What is obviously a dining area or even banquet room. It is moderately decorated, though most everything is covered in dust. The walls are covered with reliefs of stags and boar and other such animals found on the hunt.

Furniture is functional, though not ornate, with the exception of two chairs which, ostensibly, belong to the two masters of the place - the stylized 'Z' and 'R' clue you in. Both are made of fine walnut, and could fetch a fair price, though they are heavy and unwieldy.

What do we see in the room beside ghouls? Furniture? Another door? Etc.?

If he is able to do so and if it does not appear as if there is anything interesting in the room, Bruno is going to suggest rather than attacking they close and use iron spikes or something (?) to keep the ghouls from eventually being able to get out. [I think the idea of these 4 ghouls spending eternity locked in a room would make an interesting story -- Waiting for GhoulDOH!)

If it comes to attacking them (either because he's not going to be able to stop anyone or there's some obvious reason [interesting things in the room aside from the ghouls; the unlikeliness of being able to 'bar'/lock the door; etc.] not to stop the attack) he'll draw his short sword and move in to attack.

The room appears to be a lounge of sorts. Apparently, after dinner R & Z would carouse with some of their henchmen for a bit. In the middle of the room is an alabaster statue of a nude woman, her arms wide open in an alluring pose. Benches are affixed to the walls on both sides - at one time they were padded, but the leather has long since worn away.

The statue is very well made. It is also anchored to the floor, and likely weighs in excess of a ton. Along the walls are hooks. Most of them are empty, but a few tankards hang from some of the hooks. An empty keg sits forgotten near the ghouls.

This is all impressions gotten in a 10-15 second span. For more detail, you'll need to enter.

As Weasel shouts, he turns to find four of the beasties coming in the back door...so to speak. As he lifts his sword, the front lead ghoul, a little feller, jumps on him and begins to gnaw. A second ghoul stops to feast as well, and the wiry thief's scream is cut off horribly. The other two, one of which is the ghast, now turn their attention to Myrrick.

Almost unbelievably, Myrrick successfully evades, parries, ducks, dives dodges and does everything he can possibly do to stave off the foes' heinous claws and teeth!

While the back door is being held by Myrrick, the lounge is swirling with activity. Two of the four ghouls make a beeline for Zan (notably the one Zan shot). The other ghoul focuses his effort on Kullonar. For his part, Kullonar's breast plate does its job, though the screeching sound of nails on steel is jarring.

Zan dances with death and wins - the last two ghouls miss him also fail to score a hit.

Bruknar growls, turning his head both ways before darting into the lounge to help Zan and Kullonar.

As he engages, he slips on some sort of fetid ooze left behind by the ghouls and misses his mark.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Gildan had realized what he had stumbled upon immediately. This was work of undead, and it didn't take him long to realize that the ghouls were attacking a group of the living. Knowing that this opportunity offered him the chance to kill more of the fiends, as well as assist some potential allies, he grabs his bow and moves to the door of the nearby room. Not bothering to introduce himself to the besieged party members, he fires two arrows into the room, seeking to strike any of the ghouls he sees.

OOC:
10:01, Today: Gildan Stalker rolled 16 using 1d20+7.  Bow attack 2.
10:01, Today: Gildan Stalker rolled 10 using 1d20+7.  Bow Attack 1.
I don't know if either of these hit. If they do, I can roll damage or you can roll it for me. My intention is to be no more than 30' away from whichever I'm shooting at, so I get the specialization bonus. If my first shot doesn't kill, I'll aim the second shot at the same enemy.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Zan's efforts, despite impetuous, prove to be fruitful. Between the regular missile and the twin magic missiles, He manages to kill one ghoul, and seriously wound another. Bruno follows up with keen hit on the one wounded by Zan, killing it and leaving but two more of the beasties in the lower chamber.

In the bigger chamber, a voice from outside the room says, "Say 'ello to my leetle friend!"

Whoever said it must be packing a howitzer because the nearest ghoul is spun around by the force of the hit and falls dead.

The beat goes on for Myrrick, who finds that he is not affected by the ghast's stench & is able to wound the bastard...slightly.

Bruknar is struggling & misses again.

The floor around Weasel grows slick with his blood.

Uthecar's not having a particularly good day either, and misses his mark as well.

Surprise writ upon his face, Kullonar misses with his morning star...by this much.

Ghouls round:

Room 4: Bruno, Kullonar & Zan

Two of the beasties remain, and they attack with fervor. The first goes after the nasty little elf...the two paws swipe wide, but that just left Zan open to a kiss on the neck (5 points of damage.)

Enraged, the second ghoul attacks Bruno. In similar fashion, this beastie finds zero purchase with its claws, but the bite is vicious: 4 points of damage.
----------------
In the upper chamber, the dining area (rm 3), the two ghouls snack on Weasel uninterrupted. Meanwhile, Billy Bad Ass turns his full attention upon Myrrick. Despite it's potentially lethal arsenal of clawx2 and bite, he only gets a nick on the doughty ranger...3 pts damage.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Gildan living on the edge firing pell-mell through the doorway. As the smaller ghoul who initially attacked Weasel stands, the first arrow strikes him square in the chest. As the second arrow streaks toward the little critter, it falls, and the arrow passes harmlessly until it ricochets off the wall.

Ghoul/ghast: Dining area: One ghoul and it's boss the ghast remain standing and very game. Turning toward the source of their torment, both rush from the room at a full sprint toward Gildan: The first swipe by ghast hits (1), but the second swipe misses. Unfortunately for Gildan, the third is right on point: a critical hit. Total damage is 17 points damage. Also, Gildan needs to make a saving throw against paralyzation: elfs are not immune to ghast touch. As the second ghoul races out, it takes a minor hit from Bruknar (1hp) but keeps on going. With a snarl of sharp teeth, the ghoul hits with it's claw for three more points of damage to Gildan.

Gildan Roll d20 for save vs. paralysis, please.

Bruknar hit the ghoul running past him (-1). Uthecar missed the same ghoul

Myrrick misses the ghast as it runs past.

-----------------------------
Down in the lounge, Kullonar lines up a terrible blow to the ghoul that threatens him. His mighty orcish thews heave the morning star and smash the beastie. It falls dead at his feet.

While Bruno finds his aim off this round, Zan picks up the slack and slams two more magic missiles into the thing. It also drops.

Current sitrep: ghouls in the lounge are all dead.
----------------------------------------------------------
One ghast and one ghoul are still extant and outside the dining chamber, both are interested in snacking on Gildan.

Gildan is down to one hp. He starts the next round's actions after rolling for a saving through w/ a d20.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Gildan - that is correct. You're down, but not out. They start munching on you; a dark shroud seems to close around you as you slip into unconsciousness.

With the ghast and ghoul feasting, the rest of the party has initiative.

Uthecar: Uthecar's blow knocks the bigger of the two bullies. The ghast turns and looks up him and growls horribly. Uthecar did 7 points of damage to the ghast.

Bruknar: Bruknar swings his morning star with some effect: 2 points of damage.

Zan: Makes his move up to the dining chamber then fires off two more magic missiles, scoring the nearest beastie (ghast) for four points of magic missile damage; this in turn forces the ravenous beast to take stock. Standing, he heads for the nearest party member, with a soul tearing scream. Uthecar is nearest.

Waiting on Bruno, Kullonar and Myrrick to take their turns.
