Re: The Adventure Continues

Uthecar leads the way into the room. It has the same dimensions as the prior room. I also has an ornate bet, a regular writing desk (as opposed to an escritoire) and sundry other furniture that once was really nice and now is covered in dust and dilapidated. From the door the party sees no sign of life...or undeath.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Uthecar will move into the room looking up and around at the ceiling to make sure there is nothing looking to fall upon them.  He holds his axe up and close to his body with the blade out.  He will then move over to the bed, looking for any unusual shapes (body like) in the bedding.

Kullonar looks longingly at the bed, trying to remember the last time he actually slept in one.
With a sigh he walks over to the desk and opens some of the drawers, looking for...well, just about anything.

Moving into the room Bruno gives it his own scan, "This could be a wizard's room, couldn't it? I mean..."

He pauses and as he he glances around, "I wonder if this was either Rogahn's or Zelligar's quarters?"

Re: The Adventure Continues

Given the uniformity of the rooms and the lack of any identifying decor or singular keepsakes, you get the sense that they are accommodations for august guests.

The search yields nothing of value. The bedclothes are tattered, much like the prior room, the desk is more common, with compartments that hold nothing of worth and a search by dwarves and rogues each turns up no secret compartments.

Even the carpeting is covered in dust and threadbare, with no indication that anyone had walked across them in years.

The party exits, then heads down the hallway once again. They come to another door, equidistant from the prior two, lined up in a row. It doesn't take an arch'mage to figure out that the three chambers are likely the same exact dimension.

Re: The Adventure Continues

Weasel steps up to the door. He's a terror with the tools; this time he finds and disarms a fairly simple trap. Unfortunately, the door is locked, his lockpick jams in the locking mechanism and breaks as he tries to twist it out.

Other thieves of the party can try to open the lock with a -5% penalty.

Bruno watches Weasel a bit surprised by his failure.

Glancing around at the others, "Well, I've got a shoulder that's not being used."

He steps up to the door glancing at Uthecar, "Bet a silver that I can open this with one go, soldier?"

Re: The Adventure Continues

The door opens like a crypt, a loud creak that reaches the hallway from within the room. With the light provided from Bruno's lantern (the priest is fairly handy to have around!), you can see that the room seems to be the same shape and size of the first two. Unlike the other two, the bed here sits against the far wall. Tattered remnants of the bed clothes blow in the sudden gust from the open door, wraith like and haunting.

There seems to be a still form atop the bed.

Actions?

(heh!).

Kullonar feels something in his bowels threaten to give way upon seeing the form on the bed. Ignoring the sweat running down his face, the priest of St. Cuthbert grabs his holy symbol, gives a nod to Bruno, and steps into the room.

Re: The Adventure Continues

As long as the bedclothes are old and mildewy (as they seem to be in my head) Uthecar will move forward and use his axe to chop at the form on the bed in an overhead sledgehammer type blow.  He's not waiting to see what it might be if the bedclothes look like they aren't desirable to pull over a person.

Re: The Adventure Continues

The dust is thick and undisturbed in this room, that is until Uthecar came in and started knocking the crap out of the bedclothes. Then the dust erupted in a violent storm, causing the dwarf to begin sneezing with explosive force. The fit goes on for almost five full minutes until, at last, wheezing and groaning, Uthecar staggers out of the room and out into the hallway.

Actions, please.

:)
