Re: OOC

Sorry about that. You had the right interpretation  “make a Stamina roll (with no penalty) to stay conscious” . You had it right!

Is Sara completely paralyzed? Or is it just legs? Arms?

Re: OOC

Assume that Sara can move her eyes and obviously breath. Just assume the legs, arms and anything requiring voluntary movement is immobilized and unable to move.

Re: OOC

Whew, that was a long one to write. But, I figured if you're giving me spares of all of Shawn's various magical items, I should at the very least try to mash them all together into something that'll probably destroy all of them.

Awesome posts guys. Give me a moment while I comb through all of the rules and then write comprehensive posts

Re: OOC

Oof, those are long odds! Is there any way to boost the pool (other than WP) or sub in extra skills/attributes? Also, is this a single roll or an extended one?

Edit: Or to sacrifice possible benefits for improving the odds (i.e. Ralph and Bobby will always stay with their new family, taking a degeneration/derangement)

Re: OOC

Also, when I was searching my sheet for possible bonuses, I noticed something that I’d completely forgotten about- Shawn has a merit that lets him ignore up to -2 in wound or fatigue penalties. I really wish I’d noticed that during the chase with Bradford.

OMG! That would have possibly changed so much. A grievous overlook on my part too.

Re: OOC

Out of curiosity, how would this trigger work with deliberately telling a truth in a deceptive way? Or self-deception? How serious would the self harm be - enough to damage health levels? Also, is it something he has to do immediately, or is something he can hold until he’s in private or out of danger if he’s being threatened?

Re: OOC

Out of curiosity, how would this trigger work with deliberately telling a truth in a deceptive way?

Or self-deception?

Any speech that would be deceptive would be considered a 'lie' for the purposes of this trigger, including the examples above. It might be that someone says "who took the cookie from the cookie jar?"

If Shawn hid the cookie behind his back, the trigger would not take effect.

If Shawn said 'not me!' the trigger would take effect.

How serious would the self harm be - enough to damage health levels?

Shawn can choose from one of the following:

Biting nails - no damage, all kids would notice, all adults would notice

Cutting forearm - 1 lethal damage, adults might notice, one or two kids might notice

Cutting inside of leg - all adults would notice.

Also, is it something he has to do immediately, or is something he can hold until he’s in private or out of danger if he’s being threatened?

Re: OOC

OK gang. I've been working on the story-lines and creating a few new NPCs. Thank you for bearing with me. For one, you can expect the following:

1) The game will start to pick up in terms of pace.

2) Your characters will face an important decision that will lead to a 'break period' where experience must be spent and time must advance about 2 months

3) A survey will be posted for you to answer. Your answers are meant to inform each other and the storyteller about your character's thoughts related to several issues.

I really want to that you guys for sticking with this game so consistently. It has helped me plan ahead in ways that I would be unable to if not for your posts.

I mean, I admire you for being able to plan ahead when I often have no idea what Shawn is going to do until I sit down and actually start writing!

Re: OOC

Hey gang, catching a flight. Might post today or might not. Also designing the next 'chapter' of the game. This means an overall invite to more PCs. Just a few slots this time though. All new cast of NPCs as well.

Re: OOC

Do I have experience to spend? I may have lost track, but I thought I've spent all the points I earned from previous chapters.

Edit: It looks like I have 10 total, but I've spent 9 so I can't really afford anything else.

Re: OOC

Roger that. Onward march!

Edit: can you check to see if your current character sheet is the same/update the sheet in this game:

link to another game

We will be launching within a week. But threads will continue here

Re: OOC

My sheet’s not the same in that game, but it looks like I don’t have GM permission to edit the character sheet page.

Edit: I've edited it into my character description in the other game, but that's publicly visible, so I don't know if you want it me to keep it there, or if you want to move it to the character sheet proper.

Re: OOC

ok, Roger that, sorry about the confusion. This game will continue. Assuming that you guys want to play in the next story that is launching, the focus of this game will change slightly until the other game is resolved.

This game will slowly shift to focus on the "inner" aspects of your characters.

The newer story, will focus on the upcoming school year, and on an investigation by other kids as to what has been happening in your neighborhood so far.

How does that sound?

Well, I'm up for that. Though not entirely sure on what you mean by inner aspects.
