The door bell was ringing. Twice actually. It seemed hurried before...

Ding Dong!

...it eventually stopped abruptly.

"SOMEBODY GET THAT!" Dad said from the couch, clearly annoyed at the sound. Shawn was upstairs talking to Bobby.

Shawn gave Bobby a look, and gestured for him to follow down to the door, where he casually opened it.

"Hi." A man said, looking down at Shawn with a big smile. He had short, cropped hair, tall and lanky with glasses. He was wearing beige shorts and a red polo shirt. He introduced himself as a new neighbor.

"...and this is my son Junior."

"Come on inside, don't be a stranger." Dad said, with a sincere warmth and friendliness in his voice that Shawn rarely saw displayed at him or any other kid.

The man stepped inside.


"Shawn. Go play with Junior." Dad ordered, not acknowledging Bobby's presence or bothering to introduce Shawn for that matter.

Shawn gives Junior a pleasant wave, whoever he might be. "Hi, I'm Shawn. It's nice to meet you, Junior."

"Hi, I'm Junior and I'm..." the boy, who was about two or maybe even three years younger than Shawn, suddenly dropped his hands by his sides. His mouth dropped completely open, eyes wide like he had seen a ghost. He stopped talking completely.

0 Successes: OH MY GOD! - Junior has a favorable view of Shawn for the rest of this scene

3: Successes: Shawn gains Allies (1 dot) - Junior's and his Network. Junior worships the ground that Shawn walks on.

OOC: 21:30, Today: Shawn Cramer failed (no successes) using 7d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s with rolls of 4,5,1,6,6,4,3. Presence + Striking Looks + WP.

"Kid....Knight." Junior said, eyes wide as two large saucers. "Kid...Knight." He said again, as if he was in the presence of some mysterious apparition. And that that ghost was Shawn himself.  "You were...the bad guy. In Kid Knight. Or that...movie"

Shawn gave him a modest smile, genuinely kind of flattered that he'd been recognised. "Yeah, that was me in Kid Knight..."

Junior's face slightly relaxed. But this was quickly replaced and pushed downward. His own hands began to fidget slightly, coming together. Fingers playing with one another in a nervous gesture.

"You're. You're famous." He said. And once he said those words, his face smiled.

"I mean, I'm not like a star or anything. That was my biggest movie. I'm mostly just a kid" Shawn smiled back, a little less nervous than Junior, but he wanted to make a good impression anyways.

Junior smiled, happy to meet someone like Shawn, or perhaps idealizing Shawn and happy to meet the person that he had idealized.

"So, what do you want me to do?" Junior asked.

Shawn was a little taken aback at Junior's eagerness, but he tried to roll with it. "I don't need you to do anything...but we can play if you want?"
