Shawn got off his bicycle and leaned it against the bike rack. The field, with its vast open space for flag football and kickball was marked only with a single swingset. Shawn was familiar with environment, having spent more than a few recesses here at school.

In the distance, Ralph was swinging on a single swing, listlessly. His head was up at the sky, but Shawn was too far away to judge what expression he had on his face.

Shawn tried to move towards Ralph non-threateningly, lest the younger boy run away again when he saw him. He'd have to convince him very carefully...
