"Hey....Shawn. Are you there?" It was Feddler's voice, thin and high. Impish, by all means. Shawn had laid down in his bed for what felt like only about five minutes ago. Mom had come by and given him a kiss. Then he had heard Mom and Dad arguing about how Dad didn't have a job. Dad yelled something and then Shawn could hear Dad's car starting up in the driveway seconds later, the sound of his car engine fading into the distance as he drove away.

Everything was dark. It was now just a dream, Shawn knew. But it was the kind of dream Shawn had to 'wake into.' He knew all he had to do was open his eyes, like he was really waking up.
