Shawn: Gramps Has Got A Story to Tell...

OOC: Results of Roll:

Mom was lying of course. The truth was that either Gramps wouldn't be fine, or Mom didn't know. It was more than just the way that Mom looked at Shawn. It was the way that She gripped the steering wheel. The furrowed brows and lines on her forehead. And the way she wiped her eyes, as if trying to catch any tears that might escape before Shawn could catch a glance at them from the passenger seat.

When they got to the hospital, the Nurse there brought the news that Gramps refused to see anyone else but Shawn. This of course led to an argument that lasted about a half an hour, before Mom finally relented. And so with Mom waiting outside, Shawn ventured forth into the dim-lit hospital room.....

"come in my child...." an old man's voice said. It sounded like it could be Gramps. But most old people sound the same, don't they?

Shawn: Gramps Has Got A Story to Tell...

Shawn slowly shuffled forward, hands stuffed into his pockets. He hadn't spent a lot of time in the hospital, and the weirds smells and industrial lighting were disorienting. "Hi Gramps..." He stared at the floor, like most kids would in an uncomfortable situation. His friendly sociable persona was failing him here.

Shawn: Gramps Has Got A Story to Tell...

The nurses had warned Shawn that Gramps was a little disoriented.

"Shawn"
Gramps started, "How are you?" he said from the darkness, face shrouded in the corner of the room by shadows

"Okay..." Shawn wasn't really sure what to say here. 'Are you going to die?' was what he was thinking, but even here and now he wasn't going to say it out loud.
