* Naomi's Memory: I Don't Approve

The girl smiled a little bit as she put on the blindfold and let the ants do the work for her. This would be a piece of cake! She always had a good sense of direction, which she always wondered about. Did it have to do with her memory superpower? Or was it soemthing totally different? She would have to try and look it up later. Science always had the answer after all! The girl giggled to herself as she adroitly moved through the area, figuring that she would have done rather well with herself. She was good at these sorts of games after all! And a little blindfold wouldn't change that!

* Naomi's Memory: I Don't Approve

Naomi glided easily across the room and around the table, the ants providing a protective barrier. The bits of memory like armor, allowing them to predict and navigate Naomi around the smallest obstac...

Naomi felt something that shouldn't be there. Something that brushed up against her leg. It felt like the dried flower bouquet had been placed on the floor.

She heard Jenny laughing. It was a mischievous giggle.

"I'm putting a few obstacles in your way. Ha ha!"
She said.  "This way it will be more funner. And you can give me a handicap because we both know you have the family gift. And I don't."

They had never spoken about it before. But it was undoubtedly true that the 'gift' she was referring to was the perfect memory that ran in the family. Naomi heard stories about her great grandma could remember things and ever further down her family history than that. But the only two people in the family now that had the gift were Naomi and her big sister.

* Naomi's Memory: I Don't Approve

Naomi was easily gliding around the room. She had a gift after all! And that made her great at this sort of stuff! She was happy when she found herself avoiding everything. She was good at moving around like this. It was fun to play games she was good at! Way better than games that she wasn't! Her eyes widened behind the bandana in surprise as she found her foot touching something. "H-huh?" She said in clear confusion. What was she touching!? There wasn't anything there before! "B-but that's not fair..." She said, frowning in indignant anger. How dare she make this game unfair! But maybe Jenny had a point? She didn't have the family gift and Naomi did. Did that mean...that Naomi was the cheater!? No! It couldn't be!  Her parents said that her gift wasn't cheating! Especially at school! She shuddered and nodded. "R-right...I-I'll still win..."

She moved forward. She wasn't going to let this stop her!

* Naomi's Memory: I Don't Approve

Naomi tripped and fell and there was a large crashing sound, the high twinge of glass shattering.

"Oh no!" Jenny yelled, the sound of her voice suddenly shrill with panic. The darkness shrouding Naomi's eyes still very much tight as Noami rolled onto her back, head coming to a stop against what felt like the couch.

Naomi squealed as she fell over, frowning and groaning. "N-no!" She said as she heard the glass breaking. What had she done!? Naomi knew better than to leave thingies on the floor! Especially things that could break! Ever since she'd broke a game boy when she was young she knew to never do that again! She whimpered as she fell on the couch. "Wh-what happened!?" She asked, fumbling to try and pull off the blindfold.

Naomi pulled off the blind fold. The coffee table had been moved by Jenny and now it lay in shattered pieces on the floor. Jenny's face was pallid. Her mouth agape as she surveyed the wreckage.

"I don't think blind man is as good as a game as I thought it was." she said stupidly.

Suddenly, there was a sound. Jenny's Mom pulling into the driveway with that large Buick.

* Naomi's Memory: I Don't Approve

Naomi whimpered as she saw the broken coffee table. Oh no! This was bad! Like really bad! Jenny's mom would get mad and then she would tell Naomi's mom and then she would be mad and then Naomi would get grounded and she wouldn't be able to go to the library and she would get bored more easily and she wouldn't be able to check out that cool science book she saw or play with her electronic kit and everything would be horrible! She seized up and began to panic as she looked over to Jenny. "Oh no! Wh-what did we do what did we do!? What are we gonna do! Thisisreallyreallyreally bad!" She hyperventilated for a moment before shaking her head, the ants bringing back several memories of her parent's disappointed faces. No no no no no! It wasn't supposed to end this way! It wasn't fair! Why didn't Jenny make it fair!? She gulped at Jenny. "Wh-why did you...i-if only it was kept fair..." She said with a whimper.

* Naomi's Memory: I Don't Approve

Naomi took a few deep breaths and grunted in annoyance. "H-hey! It was your decision to play the game in the first place! Y-you can't blame me!" She said before panting a bit. What was she supposed to do in a situation like this? She thought about trying to fix the table...but it was glass! And there was no way she could fix something like that, especially with the parents quite literally around the corner. "U-um...maybe we could hide it? B-but it wouldn't work for long..." She clutched her head. There had to be something that could help! Anything! she breathed deeply as she tried to think of something useful.

* Naomi's Memory: I Don't Approve

Naomi thought hard and the ants brought her different images: the table, the shattered glass, repairing it? Running away? She saw the closet, maybe thought of hiding, saw the closet. All of these thoughts raced through her mind.

Then, the ants came up with an idea. If Naomi worked quickly enough with Jenny, they might able to grab the big pieces as Naomi's Aunt was hanging up her coat.

OOC: Both Jenny and Naomi each rolls Dexterity + Athletics to 'clean up' the big pieces quickly before Noami's Aunt gets into the room.

6 successes total needed

Naomi took a deep breath. "F-for the moment...let's hide the pieces! We can do it! C-come on! N-no time to waste!" She said, obviously quite nervous. There would be no way she could do it on her own...but maybe with Jenny's help she could pull it off? Anything would be better than just sitting there and getting in trouble! She took a few deep breaths and moved.

Naomi whimpered as she saw the chaos happening around her, and how she was unable to hide it. Oh no. This was bad! This was really bad! Now Jenny's mom would be mad at her and that would make her own mom mad at her and then she'd get grounded or lose her books or not be able to go to the library or play with her electronics set and then she'd be bored and sad and bad at school and everything would be horrible! What was she going to do!? She whimpered a bit more, blubbering as she failed to be able to do anything! Wh-why had she agreed to play this game in the first place!?

Naomi whimpered and blubbered as she saw the girl entering the room. This was bad! Super bad! Mega bad! Ultra bad! She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do here! B-but she was a good girl right? And good girls didn't lie, even when they did something bad. The girl had a few tears in her eyes, not used to such treatment. The girl took a few deep breaths. "I-I..." She started weakly, not wanting to admit what she had done. "W-we were just playing a g-game a-and...and..." She winced, unable to even finish the words.

"I did it!" Jenny blurted out. She gave Naomi a knowing look. In that moment Naomi knew that Jenny was going to take the blame for it all.

"Go ahead and go home Naomi. I think my Mom will probably want to talk to me about what I did. I broke it Mom. I was fooling around like I always do and Noami was trying to warm me before I bumped into it, but it was too late."

"I'm sorry Mom."
Jenny said, giving Naomi a look to show that Naomi should get going.

"B-b-b-bu...." She said with a whimper. Could she really just let Jenny take all of the blame? Naomi had messed it up! But that was also because Jenny had changed the rules on her and cheated. So maybe it was her fault? But somehow this just didn't feel right. She really really didn't want to get in trouble though! If she got in trouble mom wouldn't let her go to the library or play with her electronics kit! She really didn't want to get in trouble...but could she just let Jenny take all of the blame? Naomi hadn't stopped when she figured out that Jenny had hanged the rules after all...a-and she really should have. The girl gulped and looked worriedly over to Jenny. "B-b-but..." She said weakly.

Naomi's Aunt was silent during the exchange. Perhaps it was because she wanted to ensure that the two girls worked it out themselves. But there was still some anger in the woman's face.

"It's OK." Jenny insisted. "Go on Naomi, I've got to go clean this up. I think my Mom wants to talk to me about it."

But Naomi also didn't want to get in trouble herself! Her parents would be so disappointed in her! And then they wouldn't like her and say nice things about her anymore! The girl took a few deep breaths and sighed, nodding over to her. "I-I'm sorry...I-I'm so sorry..." She said weakly. "W-we were just...p-playing a game..." She said with a frown and a sniffle. Jenny's Mom lectured the girls for a few minutes about the right way to play and how she didn't want them doing this again. Between whimpers, Naomi could see Jenny nod and agree with her Mom's speech.

"We won't do it again Mom, honest."
Jenny said.

Naomi listened to the lecture, hanging her head low as she was admonished. That was something that she always had trouble dealing with. She was always self conscious about how other people thought of her, especially her parents. The fact that she was getting in trouble right now only made that worse. She was surprised that Jenny seemed to be staying so calm...but maybe that was just the nature of these things. Was she just...used to it more than Naomi maybe? Either way the girl was a bit scared and worried about herself. Hopefully everything would be alright...
