Delilah shot up from bed so fast that she found herself falling over. Her perspective was narrower, somehow. Smaller. It was a strange feeling. She tried closing her hand. That's when she realized that she didn't have one....

Delilah's cries for help came out as squeals and screeches. She bucked and kicked at the sheets covering her trotters. She rolled around the bed wildly and cried until fat tears rolled down her snout.

The noise felt odd in her throat, her movements awkward and unfamiliar. Even the inside of her mouth felt strange and foreign, jutting teeth and interior shape all out of place. But there wasn't much time to think on this. The door opened and Delilah heard footsteps coming into the room. Susan appeared, her face at first a mask of confusion and then anger.

"A PIG!" She announced with a hatred in her voice like an exterminator who had found the hive. "I HATE PIGS!"

She looked around and grabbed the first thing she could find: Delilah's used lunch tray. Then she made her way across the room towards the bed with surprising speed, the tray raised over her head as if to strike.

"I'll teach you! Where's my sister!?"

Delilah squirmed around in the sheets in her rush to leap off the bed. Stupid Susan would bash her brains in!

"REEEE! Ree-reee-SKREEE!"

The first swipe of the tray knocked over a plastic container of jello that was just sitting there next to the end table. Delilah dashed forward, piggy sounds coming fast and frantic from her snout.

Susan kept on her, murderous intent in her eyes.

The movement of four legs was strange. Delilah squirmed and sctambled away. She'd seen what Susan could do to a kid.

Delilah's IV stand crashed to the side of the wall and then onto the floor, pushing over a cart which ran into the far side of the room, unhinging a pressure gauge which dangled by its circular cord. The whole room was chaos. Susan was running around in a maddening fury, while Delilah was just just grunting, trying to get away.

Delilah could see down the sight of her bristly snout the door to the room, she could make a run for it. Alternatively, she was close to the bed, close enough to scurry underneath.

Tall items fell and crashed around Delilah. In her panic, she did what came natural and bolted for the open door. Her field of vision narrowed down to that one, white path in front of her. Just like running through the snow. Her stubby legs scratched at the tiles and her high-pitched squeal rang off the walls.

There was a crashing sound behind her, but Delilah was too focused on moving forward. Nurses dodged her, pressing their backs against the floor. A janitor appeared in front of her, but she managed to scuttle between his legs long before he could even think about doing something. All around the hall people were yelling. A sick child's voice shouted out from somewhere amid the chaos 'Yay! Piggy!'

Everything around her blurred into a bright tunnel. Delilah's little porcine heart pumped and her legs burned to leave Susan and her killer eyes far behind. Delilah bolted around a corner and nearly tumbled down a flight of stairs.
