Marching order

Now would be a good time for the party to discuss marching order.  I suggest you come up with marching orders for 3 situations:

1. Single file for narrow (e.g., 5 foot wide) corridors.

2. Two column marching for broader (e.g., 10 foot wide) corridors.

3. Open terrain where as many PCs can walk abreast as you might like.

Marching order

In reply to Castle Keeper (msg # 1):

As a cleric, I'm decent with melee combat (AC 16 w/shield, 14 hp, +1 BtH), but more or less useless when it comes to range attacks.  I do have Wisdom as Prime with a +2 modifier, but I would imagine that either the Ranger or Assassin (maybe the Monk?) would be better at running point.

1) Single file:  Maybe best if I'm in position #4 or #5 - at least I can cast Bless if needed

2) Two abreast:  2nd Row

3) Clear area:  I'm fine for being up front near the center, allowing folks with range weapons to be on the flanks

Just some thoughts where I could be, but am very flexible.  I guess the first question is for single file, who should lead?

Marching order

Clear area to the front on scout or on a flank

single file about 3 rd if close quarters or up ahead solo on scout

if double rows in second row or well ahead on scout

Marching order

I feel like Dreya is the squishiest of the group.  Ha ha ha.  Therefore, I thought that these might work?

1) I think that in narrow confines like dungeons, Dreya should take up the rear?  What do you guys think?

2) For the two column marching order, I think she should be in the middle, so perhaps 2nd row.  That way the druid is close enough to those around her to do what party support is possible.

3) In open terrain, it might be nice to have a druid upfront more or taking point along with a ranger.

Let me know your thoughts!

Len's a sturdy fighter. Wherever that's needed, I'm fine.

Khaaven your suggestions seem good. Cole will stay by her side in open terrain and in front of her when she is in the middle. May I suggest in dungeons though, we may need your assassin skills up front to disarm traps. My traps skills are limited to a wilderness environment and we have no rogue currently in our party.

Marching order

Since Khaaven is posting the most, I'm going to pick on him and ask him to prepare the 3 marching orders based on the input from this thread.  Post them here and we'll give folks a couple days to request any changes before locking things in.  We still have a wizard waiting to join the game.  We can add him/her to the marching orders once his/her PC is finalized.

Hugh will go wherever he is needed in the marching order. He will be equally comfortable anywhere.

I still need a formal set of marching orders.  If Khaaven doesn't want to make the final call, we need someone to step up as leader for this purpose.

Re: Marching order

I would put at least one fighter atthe very rear, rather than the squishy druid. She can be 2nd last for all I care. But I defer to more experienced players.

Re: Marching order

Talk amongst yourselves, then it falls on Jack to designate the order.  Chime in if you can't live with Jack's decision.

Re: Marching order

I suggest:

Seline (to check for traps)
Jack
Elwood
Dreya
Anthony
Cole

(Or perhaps Cole could go second if he would be better in the lead if we intend to be sneaky. Jack could then take up the rear.)

Re: Marching order

I might suggest Elwood switching with Cole.  Cole might be better in a frontal attack, plus he has a bow.  Elwood is a decent enough meat shield to cover the rear.

Technically, Dreya has a bow too. She just can't hit anything, though she tries.
